His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 158: Kiana Sutton Had a Boyfriend in College
"The gentleness of the world lies in timely goodwill and you in my eyes."
Kiana Sutton’s heart suddenly started racing. Isn’t this something she wrote back then?
No, no, no, it couldn’t be such a coincidence. Maybe someone else wrote something similar.
She discreetly moved closer to Ethan Sinclair, her eyes fixed on the post-it note in his hand, and saw the words on it.
It really was something she had written!!!
Maybe the content and handwriting could be the same, but she would always draw a smiley face unique to her at the bottom after writing something, something no one else would do.
Kiana could never have expected that although back then she had wished like crazy for Ethan Sinclair to see that post-it note, he never did.
Now, by sheer chance, Ethan just so happened to find hers. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
It’s over.
If Ethan found out she had a secret love for him back in university, would he dislike her even more?
The next second, Kiana heard Ethan’s mocking voice, "Heh... How syrupy!"
Kiana: "..."
"Were you all this idle during university?"
Kiana didn’t want to talk to Ethan, didn’t even want to see him. She feared she wouldn’t be able to hold back her primal urge to give him a good jab.
"But this handwriting does look quite like yours."
Ethan’s dark eyes looked deeply at Kiana, "Could it actually be you who wrote this?"
He had just called it syrupy—how could Kiana dare to admit it now? She quickly waved her hand, resolutely denying it.
"Hmph, as if you would dare."
At this moment, the group continued forward, and Ethan had left the Wall of Confessions. Kiana deliberately stayed behind and tore off the post-it note she had written, putting it in her pocket.
Just as she was about to leave, she caught a glimpse of an interesting confession line.
"I wish that our names could be written together, whether on a wedding invitation or a tombstone at a funeral."
This girl or guy must be deeply in love.
The name below was obscured. Just as she reached out to pull it away for a better look, Ethan suddenly called out.
"Kiana Sutton!"
Kiana didn’t have time to see who it was and immediately caught up with Ethan.
Just after Kiana left, a gust of wind blew, lifting the pink post-it, and beneath that line, the name marked was "Ethan."
For the centennial celebration of Varden University, there were plenty of events.
After a whole day, Kiana wasn’t sure about the others, but she, the little tag-along, was certainly exhausted.
At the evening banquet, Ethan naturally sat with the school officials, while Kiana was seated with others elsewhere.
Famished, as soon as everyone started to eat, Kiana buried her head, engrossed in her meal.
Ethan, noticing her focus entirely on her food, couldn’t help but let out a light scoff; everyone else was socializing, while she was just eating!
"President Sinclair, I’d like to toast to you."
Noticing it was Terence Stone, who had previously been chatting happily with Kiana, Ethan clinked glasses with him and then asked casually, "You know Kiana Sutton?"
Terence, who had been sent by the school to entertain Ethan, naturally felt obliged to share all he knew with Ethan.
"Yes, she’s the belle of the business school. Because she likes to smile, and her smile is so sweet with dimples, we all call her the little sweet dimple girl."
"Really? But as far as I know, you seem to be from the foreign language department."
Terence let out an awkward laugh, "Yes, that’s right."
"Did you pursue Kiana Sutton?"
"Ah... no, no, no..."
"Really?"
Ethan’s gaze was piercing as if he could see through someone, causing Terence to cough lightly, "I did intend to pursue her, but before I had the chance to make a move, I heard she already had a boyfriend, so I didn’t..."
"Bang..."
Before Terence could finish speaking, Ethan suddenly slammed his glass hard onto the table.
This startled not only Terence but also everyone else at the table.
"President Sinclair, what happened?"
Ethan quickly returned to his usual aloof and dignified self, "Sorry, slipped my hand."
The others didn’t think much of this little incident and continued with what they were doing.
Seated next to Ethan, Terence clearly sensed the cold aura emanating from him.
The next second, Ethan gave him a slight smile, "You said Kiana Sutton had a boyfriend during university?"
Terence nodded, then jerked his head side to side, "She probably didn’t."
"Oh?"
"A lot of people were pursuing her then. When she turned them down, she would say she had a boyfriend. However, no one ever saw any guy around her, so we all speculated that she made it up to avoid being bothered."
Hearing this, Ethan’s tense expression finally relaxed a bit.
He cast a light glance in Kiana’s direction, "Kiana Sutton had many admirers?"
"Of course, let me put it this way: 40% of the guys at our school got snagged by beauties from the film school. 20% were split up by the girls here, and nearly 35% had pursued or had a secret love for Kiana Sutton. As for the remaining 5%, either they were into the same sex, or they were bookworms only focused on studying."
Ethan: "... How did you gather this data?"
"Information Statistics and Analysis majors came up with it!"
Ethan: "..."
So that’s what other people’s university life was like? They had so much idle time!
"Hehe... President Sinclair, back then, you were busy with school and had to manage the Evercrest Group. You were surely very busy, unlike us who just passed our days leisurely."
In his sophomore year, Howard Sinclair divorced Zoe Xavier and left the Sinclair Family.
For both the Sinclair Family and Evercrest Group, this was quite a blow.
Other stakeholders, including Marcus Sinclair, were eager to gain control of Evercrest Group, so the matron had Ethan stand up to it.
At that time, Ethan, though only eighteen, was formidable in both prowess and persona. Initially, many stakeholders didn’t acknowledge him, but out of respect for the matron, they were willing to give Ethan a chance.
Within a year, Ethan’s abilities and contributions to Evercrest Group were clear to everyone, and thanks to his iron-fisted methods, no one dared question him.
During that time, Ethan was indeed very busy. Due to a car accident later, his memories weren’t very clear.
He couldn’t care less about which guy was chasing who in school, and as for Kiana Sutton, he truly had no recollection at all.
He glanced at Kiana, seeing quite a few guys surrounding her, and furrowed his brow tightly, "You think Kiana Sutton is very pretty?"
Terence didn’t expect Ethan to ask such a well-known question, "Of course, she might not be the stunning and sexy type, but she’s definitely the cute and pretty type, specially softening the hearts of us straight guys. Especially when she smiles, have you not noticed that whenever you see her smile, it seems like all the troubles in the world disappear?"
Ethan gave Terence a cool look, "Is that so? That’s because you haven’t seen her cry."
