His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 194: Shane Lawson
According to Ethan Sinclair, last night in the middle of the night, Kiana Sutton muddle-headedly barged into his tent and started tugging at his clothes, trying to hug and kiss him.
Because Julian Garrison was present, Ethan Sinclair was embarrassed to let Julian see and laugh at him, so he took Kiana Sutton to the car.
As soon as they got in the car, Kiana was as passionate as fire, taking off all her clothes first, then stripping him as well.
He had also drunk a lot of alcohol, and when they got together like dry brushwood meeting fire, they spent the entire night in turmoil.
In the morning, Ethan had a major project meeting to attend and had to leave first.
He intended to wake Kiana, but she was sleeping so soundly that he was afraid she would be embarrassed, so he left with her first.
After listening, Kiana felt like she had been struck hard on the head, her mind buzzing.
She was stunned for quite some time, her face alternating between red and pale.
She still couldn’t believe she would do something so crazy and looked at Ethan in a daze, gesturing, "Are you... are you telling the truth?"
"Do I have any need to lie to you?"
Thus, Kiana felt as if her world had shattered, leaving her in ruins.
That’s it, it’s over!
Who would have thought she would also have a day of drunken folly? 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
It must have been because she saw Ethan kissing Kate Lynch yesterday, a ball of resentment in her chest, coupled with alcohol-induced courage; she must have gone to settle her score with him halfway through the night.
The slap mark on Ethan’s face and the scar on his lip were evidence of her crime, along with her own aching and weak body, clearly telling her how wild things got last night.
She looked as miserable as could be imagined, truly unable to face others.
But still...
Whenever the image of Ethan holding and kissing Kate Lynch came to mind, Kiana’s chest would start to ache again.
She didn’t look at Ethan anymore but turned her gaze to the window.
Ethan clearly sensed Kiana’s emotional shift, assuming she was still jealous over Kate Lynch coming for his birthday. He frowned slightly and said, "Kate took time out of her busy schedule to celebrate my birthday; don’t look like she owes you something. A bit of jealousy is fine, but too much is annoying."
Kiana’s fists suddenly tightened, realizing that he knew she was jealous all along.
He knew everything and yet remained so close with Kate Lynch, utterly disregarding her feelings. To him, she was someone he picked up when needed and discarded like an old shoe when not.
Seeing Kiana not responding, that wave of irritation rose again. He pulled her over to face him directly, "Did you hear me?"
Kiana nodded, lowering her eyes without looking at him, which made Ethan’s mood even worse.
He extended his hand toward her, "Give it to me."
Kiana then faintly looked at him, unsure of what he wanted.
"My birthday gift."
Kiana: "..."
He was just telling her to be generous and not to be jealous, and now he’s asking her for a gift.
"Don’t tell me you didn’t prepare anything!"
Facing Ethan’s stern and icy face, Kiana truly couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.
If he didn’t care about her, why want her gift?
The two had been married for three years, and every year on Ethan’s birthday, Kiana would prepare a birthday gift for him.
But Ethan never came home on his birthday, and her gifts were never given.
This time, she also prepared a gift, but after witnessing him kiss Kate Lynch, she no longer wanted to give it.
In retrospect, the gift was given with love for him; whether or not he loved her back, she wanted to give it to him.
After this year, she might never have the chance to give him a birthday gift again.
With that thought, Kiana slowly gestured to Ethan, "I didn’t bring it with me; I’ll give it to you when we get home."
"...Remember what you said!"
Kiana nodded, closing her eyes in utter exhaustion.
In the evening, after showering and towel-drying his hair, Ethan walked out from the bathroom to find a gift box on the bedside table.
He walked over, opened the box, and found not the scarf or gloves he expected, but a round lamp instead.
This lamp was utterly unremarkable, even somewhat ugly.
Damn Kiana Sutton, she gave Quinn a handsome, good-looking helmet, yet treated him so perfunctorily.
Ethan was grumpy about it for several days.
In the following period, Ethan became busy with work again, and Kiana threw herself entirely into her career.
When it came to the clothing store, Kiana discussed it with Quinn Sinclair, who agreed without much thought. Quinn always admired Vivian and was thrilled to collaborate on designing clothes.
What she didn’t expect was Kiana allowing her to be a small boss, granting her dividends.
Kiana’s intention was clear; she felt Quinn was more suited as the store’s owner, and having guarded her for so many years at the Sinclair Family, Kiana wanted to share whatever good she had with Quinn.
Quinn was both touched and thrilled, cherishing Kiana Sutton even more.
With the passage of time, Joshua Sutton’s departure abroad was nearing.
On his last day at The Pavilion, right after handing over his work, Joshua received a WeChat message from Kiana. While he lowered his head to reply, a pleasant voice suddenly called him.
"Joshua..."
Hearing the voice, Joshua looked up and saw a tall, well-built man.
The man wore gold-rimmed glasses and an exquisite gray suit, exuding an air of sophistication.
At the sight of him, only four words came to Joshua’s mind.
Sophisticated and abstinent.
Especially his face, so finely beautiful that both male and female customers couldn’t help but glance at him a few extra times.
Some bolder women had already started to slip their business cards into his chest pocket, but he smiled and declined them all.
Joshua thought the man looked familiar but couldn’t recall who he was at once.
"You... who are you?"
The man walked over, familiarly patting Joshua on the shoulder, "It’s been years, you’ve grown from a chubby kid into quite the handsome man."
Suddenly, Joshua recalled something, his eyes lighting up, "Are you... Shane?"
Shane Lawson smiled slightly, "Finally recognized me?"
"Yes, yes..."
Joshua excitedly hugged Shane Lawson, "My God, I never thought I’d run into you again. Where did your family move all these years? Why was there no news of you?"
Shane Lawson smiled, ruffling Joshua’s hair, "Are you sure you want to stand here and chat?"
"Of course not, no! Let’s go, I just got paid, let me treat you to a meal!"
Joshua found a rather upscale restaurant nearby; he was ecstatic to see Shane Lawson.
Since he was little, Joshua loved tagging along with Shane. Shane treated Kiana well, and by extension, would always bring any goodies home for Joshua.
Adored for his excellent studies, good looks, and intelligence, Joshua always considered Shane Lawson his idol.
Once seated, Joshua eagerly said, "By the way, Shane, let me send my sister a message. She’ll be so happy to know you’re back."
