His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 390: Sleep-over.
Chapter 390: Sleep-over.
Arissa arranged her nightgown and sat up on the bed. Nicklaus left immediately after they had their bath together.
She shook her head with a soft smile when she remembered how he kept on praising the ride he received from her earlier while they took their bath. She planned to speak to him after their bath but he left the moment he helped her into her nightgown.
Having nothing to do, she decided to dress the bed rather than think about him all through the night until he finished what he stepped out to do and returned to her.
Properly changing the bed sheets and duvets, she tied her hair into a bun and walked out of the room.
Her feet stopped before the baby nursery. She stood before the door for a second. A lot of thought ran through her mind, including Mr. Wyatt’s words. Taking in slow breaths, she turned to the door opposite the nursery.
"It seems I have to move my things in here soonest," she murmured to herself. Smiling softly, she faced the nursery door and pushed it open without knocking.
Her wide smile wiped off her face and she stood frozen when she saw Mr. Wyatt standing before the baby’s crib.
Mr. Wyatt turned to the direction of the door and when he saw her, his expression changed from soft to blank.
Mr. Wyatt let out a low sigh, "Nice room," he said to her and returned his gaze to the crib.
"It is," Arissa agreed and loosened up a little. She took two steps into the room and sat on the quilt spread on the floor.
She came here to spend some time alone but it seems she has a company. She folded her legs into a yoga position and picked up a teddy bear beside her.
Mr. Wyatt ran his hand through the crib, "You did this before knowing you were pregnant or after?" he questioned.
Arissa stared down at her legs and memories of that day when Mrs. Wyatt arranged the room flooded into her memory. She smiled remembering every detail.
"Before I got pregnant," she replied.
Mr. Wyatt chuckled, a sad one. "You both are lucky. My wife and I were once like this, we badly wanted children so we prepared their rooms for them but sadly, no child walked into any of them." he turned to her, "I believe you already know our real identities to Nicklaus,"
Arissa nodded, "I do,"
Mr. Wyatt gave her a respectful nod and turned away from her, "We were lucky to have him but he was already too grown to use any of the rooms and we had to lock them up forever," there was pain in the voice.
Arissa grabbed the pain in his voice. She stood up from where she sat and walked toward him. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she rubbed his shoulder, trying to pass comfort to him. Mr. Wyatt stared hard at her hand but she neither flinched nor took it off. "Or maybe you can open them again one day," she said softly.
Mr. Wyatt took his eyes off her hand and met her eyes, questions all over his eyes.
Arissa nodded, "Yes," she took her hand off his shoulder and placed it on top of his hand placed on the crib railing, "My babies aren’t just mine, they’ll have sleepovers with their grama from a tender age, and when that time comes, you might open those doors again and pretend to be their parents and not grandparents for that moment. How about that?"
A calm smile found its way to Mr. Wyatt’s lips. He placed his other hand on Arissa’s hand placed over his and clenched her hand.
Mr. Wyatt tried not to smile at her but it wasn’t possible as his smile blossomed, "Is this a bribe?" he teased.
Arissa laughed, "It’s fine if you want to take it as one,"
"Hmm," Mr. Wyatt hummed, "It’s a deal then," he said with humor. Arissa smiled and he drew her into a hug.
The hug was unexpected but still, Arissa hugged him back. Mr. Wyatt patted her back softly and let her go after a short second.
Mr. Wyatt looked at his wristwatch and raised a brow at her, "You are supposed to be asleep,"
"You too," Arissa pointed out. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Mr. Wyatt chuckled and said, "Exactly but I’m avoiding an angry woman and an angry son, which made me end up here,"
"I’m sorry I acted that way towards you and said words like that," he added immediately and let go of Arissa’s hands.
Arissa shrugged her shoulders, "To be honest, I was hurt for a second," she came out clean.
"I_"
The door pushed open from the outside, cutting Arissa off her words. They turned to the door and Arissa’s face glowed up when she saw Nicklaus standing before the door holding a tray.
Mr. Wyatt let out a low breath. "Goodnight," he said facing Arissa, and walked out of her.
Arissa smiled at him and watched him walk away. His feet halted when he reached the door and he started at Nicklaus.
"Not now," Nicklaus shunned him before the man would part his lips to speak. He walked away from the door for Mr. Wyatt to pass through.
Mr. Wyatt left the room and shut the door behind him. Nicklaus’s face softened when he saw that he was all alone with his wife.
"I knew you would be here," he said to her, exempting the side where he searched the whole house before remembering she could be here.
Arissa walked up to him and took the tray from him. Nicklaus followed behind her and watched her place it in the quilt on the floor.
He held her from behind when she stood straight and pressed a soft kiss at the back of her neck.
"So many love marks," he smiled and pressed his nose on her skin, "You seem less shy walking around with your neck glaring red and your hair tied into a bun,"
Arissa’s eyes widened. Her hands immediately flew to her neck and she wrapped her hand around it, trying to hide the marks.
How could she forget something like this? What would Mr. Wyatt be thinking?
