Horrific Shorts: Zombie Edition-Chapter 528: Story : The Overrun Streets
The crumbling neighborhood was a battlefield. A horde of zombies poured out of alleyways, broken windows, and shattered doors. The smell of decay hung thick in the air, while the sound of groans and snapping bones reverberated against the tight walls of the abandoned street. ZETU found themselves at the heart of the chaos, surrounded on all sides by ravenous undead.
"Fall back to the bus! We hold there!" Captain Marcus Kane barked over the noise, his shotgun unleashing round after round as he led the charge toward their only sanctuary: a partially destroyed city bus wedged across the street, its doors open and windows shattered.
Officer Derek "Shield" Coleman plowed ahead with his massive riot shield, bulldozing through the horde. Zombies clawed at the shield but were flung aside by Derek’s raw strength and precision. "Clear path to the bus! Move!" he yelled, sweat dripping down his forehead.
Behind him, Sergeant Jenna "Blaze" Hart threw an incendiary grenade into the densest part of the horde. The explosion sent a fiery shockwave through the crowd, lighting up the blood-slicked street. "That’ll buy us some time! Go, go, go!" she shouted, reloading her flamethrower.

From the rooftops, Riley "Quick Shot" Bennett provided cover fire. Her sniper rifle rang out, taking down zombies attempting to flank the team. "You’ve got more on your six, Huntress!" she called out.
Detective Lila "Huntress" Navarro spun on her heel, unloading her dual pistols into a trio of undead sprinting toward her. "Thanks for the heads-up! Brain, how close are we to finding a way out of here?" she asked, her voice strained.
Ethan "Brain" O’Connor crouched near the bus, a portable tablet in his hands. His drones buzzed overhead, scanning for safe escape routes. "Not good! The system’s picking up more undead heading this way. We’ve got five minutes, max, before we’re completely overrun!" he said, panic creeping into his voice.
"Then we hold," Kane growled, his tone unwavering. "Quick Shot, cover us. Blaze, make the bus a safe zone. Brain, stay on that tablet. Shield, Huntress, with me—we clear a path forward."
Blaze climbed onto the bus, her flamethrower roaring to life as she torched the undead closing in from behind. "Bus is secure—for now!" she yelled, her voice strained from the effort.
Kane, Shield, and Huntress carved a path through the horde, working in perfect sync. Shield absorbed the brunt of the attack with his armor and shield, while Kane’s shotgun and Huntress’s pistols eliminated anything that got too close. The team moved like a single, unstoppable unit.
As the zombies thinned slightly, Brain’s voice crackled over their comms. "I’ve got an extraction point! Three blocks west, but it’s going to be tight!"
"Then we make it happen," Kane said, firing his last shell and reloading in one fluid motion. "ZETU doesn’t back down."
The episode ends with the team regrouping at the bus, staring at the horde between them and their escape route. The undead were relentless—but so was ZETU.
