How Did I Become an F1 Driver?-Chapter 159 - 109: Ferrari’s Dark Secrets
The two of them played seven or eight games together in the evening. Perhaps it was because of the energy spent during the competition, or maybe the sudden surge in power was something Qin Miao couldn’t quite adapt to. Tonight, Qin Miao’s performance wasn’t as great, far from the usual state where he could even give professional players a run for their money, barely managing to not hold his teammates back.
However, at this point, the aim of Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu playing games had shifted from climbing ranks to merely having fun. So, Zhou Guanyu didn’t mind that Qin Miao wasn’t carrying him this time. Having fun was all that mattered.
After the gaming session ended, Qin Miao returned to his bedroom.
And there appeared Qimeng in front of Qin Miao, once again wearing that sailor outfit that somehow boosted Qin Miao’s reaction speed tremendously.
This time, however, the black tights had been swapped for thigh-high socks, exposing the fair, alluring skin that left the young and fiery Qin Miao exclaiming that he couldn’t handle it.
Faced with such a bold provocation from Qimeng, Qin Miao rushed over without saying a word.
The process in between doesn’t need further elaboration, but alas, even though the tights had been replaced by thigh-high socks, they inevitably met the same fate as before—being torn apart by Qin Miao.
Qimeng also realized deeply just how good Qin Miao’s stamina was now.
The next morning when waking up, Qimeng looked at the area tormented by Qin Miao for over two hours and punched Qin Miao’s clearly defined abs in frustration. Damn it, the swelling hasn’t subsided even after a whole night!
Originally planning to take a day off, but in the afternoon Lawson gave Qin Miao a call, asking him to come by the office.
After all, it was his boss calling, so Qin Miao couldn’t refuse.
After changing into his work clothes, Qin Miao rode his scooter over to Lawson’s office.
It’s worth mentioning that because Qin Miao and Qimeng’s pastel blue scooters were quite eye-catching, and since Qin Miao’s working hours were the same as most of Ferrari’s engineers, not a few Ferrari employees noticed that Qin Miao’s scooter saved time and was fun, so they asked Qin Miao for the scooter purchase link whenever they had time and got themselves one for short commutes.
Now, if one wakes up early, they can see quite a few Ferrari employees riding scooters to work in the Ferrari park.
Lawson didn’t lock the door today, but Qin Miao still knocked on it upon arriving.
Seeing that it was Qin Miao coming in, Lawson, who was making coffee inside, instantly wore a smile and invited Qin Miao to sit by the conference table.
Given Lawson’s stance, the topic of this meeting seemed unrelated to work.
Lawson didn’t dive into business right away, but instead, after pouring Qin Miao a cup of coffee, asked if he had adjusted to the work and life at Ferrari over this period.
This was just a prelude before getting to the main point.
Qin Miao naturally sang high praises for the working environment at Ferrari.
After a bit of small talk, the conversation moved on to the main topic.
"You probably already sensed it; during yesterday’s tests, your nearly flawless performance won over a lot of team leaders. Quite a few people approached you to exchange numbers, right?"
Qin Miao nodded with slight reluctance.
"Ever since yesterday, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing. It’s only quieted down just now.
The thing is, although many people are looking for you, there are only a few truly competitive teams in the field, and I have good relations with quite a few people in these teams. So, they wanted me to ask you about your thoughts for next season?"
Qin Miao tentatively asked, "What exactly do you mean?"
"Many teams are interested in you, but the final decision is in your hands. So, they want to know if you’re looking to do endurance racing, or formula racing next year. Of course, if you’re interested in rallying, I can arrange that too. They hope to get a concrete answer from you to make the necessary preparations."
Qin Miao didn’t ask about what preparations but instead started contemplating his future path. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
His initial intention was to participate in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. After all, who doesn’t love an already dashing supercar, further modified for racing with aerodynamic kits, looking even more combat-ready?
But after experiencing formula racing, Qin Miao genuinely felt that the thrills driving formula cars offer surpass those of GT cars. Although the aesthetics of formula cars might not beat GT cars, they are undoubtedly faster.
Recently, while browsing B Station, Qin Miao came across a saying: Children make choices, adults want everything.
So, after a brief moment of contemplation, Qin Miao decided to stick with his previous plan: to run a few seasons in F2, and once F2 no longer wanted him, he would switch directly to racing at Le Mans.
"I want to go for F2 now."
Lawson’s smile didn’t fade. After hearing Qin Miao’s reply, he asked, "Is there any F2 team you’re interested in joining?"
Qin Miao shook his head.
Although he wanted to team up with Zhou Guanyu, he knew that they were not in the same youth training system. Even if he mentioned it, Lawson might really talk to UNI-Virtuosi about joining. Moreover, regardless of his ability, once Zhou Guanyu knew he could do F2 and was willing to join UNI-Virtuosi, Zhou Guanyu, holding shares in UNI-Virtuosi, would definitely agree and do his best to make arrangements.
Therefore, it could lead to the exciting prospect of having two Chinese drivers in an F2 team on the track.
