Chapter 81: Chapter 74: Growth (Part 2)

However, Qin Miao’s training load did not reduce in the slightest. Instead, as Qin Miao’s stamina increased, so did the training volume.

Other attributes with higher ratings experienced similar situations.

Let’s take defensive ability as an example.

In "F1 2019," Qin Miao could hold off players trailing him, defending to the extent of near exhaustion. He read many books on defense and watched numerous skill tips videos, but the system stubbornly rated his defensive ability at 79 with no progress.

Qin Miao had a premonition that his other attributes would face the same bottleneck as his defensive attribute, and this bottleneck couldn’t be overcome merely through hard learning.

It requires practical experience!

So Qin Miao made up his mind.

When he and Qimeng went to the UK to watch the British Grand Prix, it would serve as a brief rest after high-intensity training. Afterward, Qin Miao planned to report to his team, purchase a GT3 race car through team channels, and then, leveraging the team’s resources, use his own GT3 race car for practice to enhance his abilities.

Not to mention, the over 20 million Racing Fund would certainly be enough to sustain Qin Miao for a while.

During this time, Qin Miao believed he could elevate his skills to the level of participating in competitions.

...

In the morning, Qimeng arrived early at Qin Miao’s house again. Unlike before, she no longer needed to knock on the door; Qimeng directly took out a key to open the door to Qin Miao’s home.

Seeing the two kids practically inseparable every day, with their conversations often revolving around their future and mutual growth, Qin Miao’s mom genuinely liked this girl from the bottom of her heart.

After subtly probing the kids’ thoughts, Qimeng naturally acquired a key to Qin Miao’s house.

After entering, Qimeng skillfully changed her shoes, and taking her suitcase, she walked in a few steps to see Qin Miao and his mom having breakfast at the dining table.

"You’re here? Come and have breakfast." Seeing Qimeng arrive, Qin Miao’s mom smiled and waved her over.

Qimeng didn’t stand on ceremony, smiling and greeting Qin Miao’s mom before sitting next to Qin Miao.

In fact, both Qin Miao and Qimeng had considered having Qin Miao’s mom join them on their trip, and they tried their best to persuade her. Unfortunately, Qin Miao’s mom resolutely declined, citing work reasons.

Seeing that they couldn’t persuade her, the two didn’t insist.

After finishing breakfast, Qin Miao’s mom went to work, while Qin Miao and Qimeng washed the dishes left over from breakfast before packing their luggage.

Today was the day they were heading to the UK.

Britain, being a high-latitude country, had much cooler temperatures in July compared to back home, so Qin Miao and Qimeng packed long pants and long sleeves for their trip.

Compared to their trip to Shanghai, at least this time Qin Miao managed to fill up his backpack.

With toiletries prepared by Qimeng, Qin Miao only needed to pack his clothes.

Packing Qin Miao’s backpack into Qimeng’s large suitcase, the two were ready with all their personal items before departure.

After confirming they hadn’t forgotten anything, the two grabbed their suitcases, held hands, and left.

Just as they were stepping out, the door across from theirs opened, and Fan Yue’s figure appeared behind it.

Since Qin Miao walked in front and Qimeng followed behind when they left, Fan Yue first saw Qin Miao.

"What a coincidence! Are you going out?" Fan Yue, seeing Qin Miao, seemed very surprised.

Qin Miao, not thinking too much, nodded and said, "Yes, we’re going on a trip."

Fan Yue’s eyes lit up, showing interest: "I happen to be unsure where to go for the summer break. If it’s convenient, can we travel together?"

Her charming smile, coupled with gentle words, would have overwhelmed any typical young man.

But this level of impact was not for Qin Miao to handle.

As the two chatted at the doorway, Qimeng curiously peeked from behind Qin Miao and asked, "Hubby, who are you talking to?"

Fan Yue’s previously poised expression faltered when she heard how Qimeng addressed Qin Miao. She turned stiffly to look at Qimeng, who was peeking out.

"Qimeng? What are you doing here?" Fan Yue appeared surprised, but upon closer observation, one would notice her right hand clenched tightly, knuckles turning white.

Qimeng looked completely taken aback: "Ah? Class monitor? Do you also live here? What a coincidence."

Saying this, Qimeng turned to Qin Miao, demanding, "Why didn’t you tell me the class monitor lived here? Would you have mentioned it if we hadn’t run into her now?"

Qin Miao: ???

Didn’t I tell you???

But after speaking, Qimeng focused on Fan Yue, while Fan Yue fixated on Qimeng, none of them paying attention to Qin Miao’s puzzled expression.

Though her words were admonishing, Qimeng’s small hand firmly held onto Qin Miao’s, clearly marking her territory.

Seeing this, Fan Yue furrowed her brows tightly, enough to pinch a mosquito dead. She honestly didn’t know when these two had gotten together.

"Are you two... together? Since when?" Fan Yue slightly adjusted her expression, pretending to have just discovered their relationship and asked in surprise.

Qimeng thought for a moment and said, "It’s been a while, I think we started dating last time we were at the karting meetup."

Fan Yue’s expression turned slightly unnatural at Qimeng’s words, and then she said, "Congratulations! I always thought you two looked like a couple back in school."

"Thanks a lot for your blessing, class monitor," Qimeng responded with a smile.

"So, are you two going on a trip? What’s your destination?" Fan Yue asked, feigning curiosity.

Qimeng was open about it, responding, "Qin Miao and I are planning a trip to the UK. Qin Miao loves racing, so I thought of taking him to see the F1 British Grand Prix."

As a girl, Fan Yue didn’t know much about F1 or this British Grand Prix, but she knew the UK and understood that going abroad was costly.

"Oh, almost forgot," Qimeng suddenly exclaimed, pretending to be in a hurry, "Class monitor, sorry! We need to catch the train, so we can’t chat much more."

Fan Yue nodded stiffly, "Alright... sure, take care, and have a safe trip."

After saying goodbye, Qimeng waved at Fan Yue and then pulled Qin Miao away.

Although Qimeng’s words carried a hint of dismissal, Qin Miao and her schedule was indeed tight. Their itinerary began with a 9 a.m. train directly to Shanghai, a short break for lunch, and then a rush to the airport for a 2 p.m. flight to London.

They spent 12 hours on the plane, landing at 2 a.m. domestic time, and it was 6 p.m. local time in London.

Although it didn’t seem too late, the two had been traveling for nearly 20 hours by then.

Upon landing, they quickly checked into a hotel, had a simple dinner, and went straight to bed, eliminating the need for jetlag adjustments. The next day was already a new beginning.

Thus, traveling abroad, nearly 24 hours were spent just on the journey.

...

After bidding farewell to their home, the two took a taxi from the community entrance straight to the train station.

The rest of the journey was fairly uneventful.

Neither Qin Miao nor Qimeng felt like studying along the way, and in the relatively noisy environments of trains and planes, it was hard to concentrate. Anyone who has taken long train or plane trips knows it’s challenging to focus even on a movie you’re interested in.

Fortunately, the couple had plenty to talk about. Despite their usual training and studying making them feel like a long-married couple, being on a leisurely trip without any pressure, their sweet talk could enamor anyone.

At 6:31 p.m. local UK time, Qin Miao and Qimeng stepped out of Heathrow Airport. The journey to the UK was smooth, with no hiccups or unexpected events.

For travelers, that is the most pleasant scenario.
