How to Tame a Villain Character-Chapter 43: Investigating Mysterious Orphanage
Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Investigating Mysterious Orphanage
Hearing Harry’s very desperate tone calling out his ex-girlfriend’s name, for some reason Claudia felt her heart ache. Even though from the start she only married Harry because she wanted revenge, as time went by, for some reason she always forgot about her main mission.
Without even realizing it, tears began to drip down and wet the back of Harry’s hand. Claudia tried to divert her thoughts so as not to get carried away by emotions just because of this small problem.
"Why am I crying suddenly even though I don’t really love him? Why does hearing that name make my breath a little short?" she grumbled.
There is no need to ask about Harry’s past love story. According to her memories when reading the original storyline, Harry broke up with Vivian because Vivian did inappropriate things with another man. At that time, Harry happened to witness this directly and it traumatized him. Therefore, until now Harry holds a grudge against that woman for betraying him. However, Claudia is still curious to this day, who was the man who succeeded in making Vivian turn away from Harry?
The first time she saw Harry in his lowest position, Claudia felt sorry for him and still wanted to be by Harry’s side. Claudia closed her eyes again, continuing her adventure in the still unresolved dream world.
The sunlight shone brightly into the entire work room. Claudia and Harry woke up simultaneously because the sunlight was shining directly into their eyes. The two of them glanced at each other in surprise and immediately sat up straight. However, Claudia failed to do so because her neck suddenly hurt.
"What’s wrong with you?" Harry asked, wanting to help lift Claudia’s head which was quite heavy.
"I think my neck hurts from sleeping at the table for so long." In the end, Claudia managed to lift her head, despite the pain in her neck.
Harry rolled his eyes and patted his forehead. "This is why I felt like I was going to scold you last night! You worked so hard you overslept! As a result, you are the one in pain!"
Hearing her husband’s scolding made her ears burn early in the morning, Claudia pursed her lips while holding her neck. "Even though I was waiting last night for you to come home! You’re the only one who is inconsiderate and busy drinking alcohol!"
Finally Harry understood the reason why his wife had been working until midnight. At first he thought his wife was too focused on work that she forgot about the time. Meanwhile, now he feels guilty because he was too selfish to drink wine alone in the dining room. Luckily he had thrown away the wine bottle, if his wife found out, his life would definitely not be spared.
"Sorry, yesterday I lost my mind. I didn’t dare tell you openly because I was embarrassed."
Claudia shook her head quickly, her right hand touching her husband’s cheek with a look of pity. "If you are having problems, you can tell me. Don’t keep it to yourself by just drinking wine!"
"But-"
Claudia got up from the chair and tied her hair in a ponytail. "I’ll cook soup for you. I don’t like smelling your body."
*****
After cleaning himself, Harry made sure the smell of alcohol had disappeared from his body. Today’s main breakfast menu is hangover soup. Actually, Harry didn’t know there was any food that could relieve a hangover. So far, dealing with drunkenness is just hiding yourself in the bathroom.
When he tasted a spoonful of soup, his face immediately showed a happy smile. His eyes sparkled at his wife’s still gloomy expression.
"By the way, this soup tastes delicious!"
"Then finish it quickly! I don’t want to smell alcohol on you anymore!" Claudia snapped looking away.
"By the way, why are you suddenly angry? Did I do something wrong last night?"
The mistake Harry made was not the kind of mistake that bastard men usually make at night. However, the mistake of saying another woman’s name while sleeping made Claudia a little disappointed. He didn’t want to talk about the mistakes Harry had made, because if Harry remembered his ex-girlfriend again, maybe the effect would be worse than yesterday.
"You made a mistake, namely you came home at night without telling me first!" Claudia scoffed, snorting in annoyance.
"Are you sure that’s all? No longer?"
Claudia looked away while eating the omelette rice hungrily. "You’d better finish your food quickly. Isn’t it your schedule to go hunting today?"
Harry smiled faintly as he sipped the soup. "Thanks for reminding me."
"But, I can’t go hunting with you this time."
"Why?"
"I still have to take care of hotel work. You just invite the palace ministers to accompany you."
*****
Today Claudia is busy completing her work so that when the hotel’s anniversary event is held, everything runs smoothly. Actually she could have asked his parents for help, but she wanted to live independently in the novel world.
The reason Claudia didn’t accompany her husband on the hunt was because she wanted to visit the orphanage which had been receiving donations from her husband. Because nothing strange would happen to all of her closest friends, Claudia wanted to focus on investigating the orphanage.
After finishing her work, Claudia asked Sarah to accompany her when she visited the orphanage. From the start, Claudia was very curious about why Harry was so generous and suddenly donated the proceeds of his hunt to the orphanage.
Claudia, Sarah, and the owner of the parlor gathered in the director’s room. Claudia circled the entire director’s room while looking at a photo of Thomas with all the orphanage children.
"By the way, I’m curious why Duke Harry always donates his hunting results to this orphanage? Even though he always doesn’t show his face and uses his assistant to visit this place."
This middle-aged woman lowered her eyebrows as she stared at the photo frame that Claudia was holding. "It could be said that when he was a child, Duke Harry often visited this orphanage with his mother."
Claudia furrowed her brows. For some reason, she felt there was something strange about what the owner of the orphanage said. As far as she could remember, her mother-in-law had never visited the orphanage in the past.
"Did you remember it wrong?"
"The young master’s mother always volunteers to treat children here who are infected with dengue fever."
