Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Remembering Ex

His index finger was ready to pull the trigger to shoot a bullet that hit Harris’ forehead. Even though his emotions were sometimes unstable, when it had something to do with his wife, his anger became even more likely to explode. Without caring, many knights witnessed his insane behavior now.

Harris didn’t show any fear on his face. Taking his steps slowly closer to his older brother while touching the head of the gun. Because according to him, if he showed a scared face, it would indicate that he was indeed guilty in front of Harry.

"Shouldn’t you calm down now? Aren’t you embarrassed to be seen by all your knight?" Harris whispered.

"I don’t care if I’m gossiped about or embarrassed, I’ve been humiliated all my life and I’m used to it."

"Why are you acting like this suddenly? Why are you dragging my ex-fiancé into your problems?"

Harry laughed lightly as he lowered his gun. "Weren’t you the one looking for trouble first? Starting with Kael’s murder case and now Carlos wants to kill my wife!"

Harris’s reaction was frowning. His right hand was clenched into a tight fist, it felt like he wanted to openly punch Harry’s handsome face. "Aren’t you the one who can’t look after your wife well? I’ve told you since you got engaged, if you fail to protect Claudia, I won’t forgive you!"

Harry chuckled in annoyance, playing with his left and right lips. "Until now you are still so hypocritical! Let’s see later! I will reveal your secrets one by one! There are already two cases related to you actually!"

The fight between the two brothers did not last long. Harry called Thomas to discuss it in his study. Remembering two very strange incidents recently related to members of the Scarlet Community gave Harry a headache. His right hand continued to massage his temples while reading the weapons supply report for the week.

"While I was away, were there any suspicious movements from Harris?"

"No. But, you have to know something important."

"What else?" Harry asked in a lazy tone.

"That woman, lately she always sends you letters." When Thomas handed him several envelopes stamped with roses, Harry immediately threw them all on the floor in anger.

Harry clenched his hands into fists as he slammed all the files on his desk. His emotions are increasingly out of control because one more problem is increasing in his life. The "woman" Thomas was referring to was Harry’s ex-girlfriend, Vivian. Of all the people in this world, only Thomas knows Harry’s love story which ended in failure with Vivian.

Therefore, Thomas did not get emotional when his employer responded harshly to him. After all, in all his years of working as Harry’s right-hand man, it wasn’t just once that Harry showed emotions like this.

Harry just realized that he had gone too far in front of his accomplices. His eyebrows immediately lowered to look at his assistant’s palm. "Forgive me. I should have controlled my emotions."

"It’s more likely that I should have thrown the letter away without having to report it to you. Forgive me." Thomas bowed ninety degrees.

"It’s okay. You can continue to report it to me everyday."

"But, haven’t you been very sensitive to her all this time?"

Harry shook his head slowly as he opened his cell phone. Going through the list of contacts he had saved was very large, but the one name he kept as the most important person was Claudia. It felt like his thumb wanted to press the button to contact his wife.

After a few seconds of thinking, he gave up his intention to do so and then put his cell phone back on the table. "Today I want to go home late, so my wife doesn’t see me sad."

Harry entered his residence without making a sound. He didn’t want Claudia to see him helpless now. Claudia heard the sound of grumbling in the study. Harry stopped himself from bothering his wife, who had been very busy lately.

Usually when Harry was on the verge of despair, he drank a bottle of wine from one of his collections until he was satisfied. Therefore, it is not surprising that in this luxurious residence he created a wine cellar for himself.

Harry enjoyed some wine alone in the dining room. He deliberately only lit one light so that his presence would not be known to his wife. Sipping wine while imagining the face of his ex-girlfriend who he still can’t forget.

Every time he remembered his ex-girlfriend, Harry felt hurt, not because he really loved his ex, but because he really hated the person who always betrayed him. Talking about him rejecting Clarissa because he loved one woman, that woman was not Vivian, but there was one woman who managed to make him enthusiastic about living until now. Because he had made sure that she was not the type of woman who would easily betray.

It took quite a long time to finish a bottle of wine from his collection. His head started to hurt and his vision blurred as he looked around him. He wanted to check Claudia’s condition to see whether she was still working in the study or not. Because Claudia’s loud voice could no longer be heard and it was now the middle of the night.

When he entered the study, Claudia was seen sleeping soundly at the work desk. Harry slowly walked over to his wife, then pulled up a chair next to Claudia’s table. Just looking at his wife’s face managed to make him smile a little. He propped his head on the table while removing strands of hair blocking his wife’s face.

"You work very hard, Claudia." For a moment, Harry read the report that Claudia had made in preparation for the hotel’s anniversary event which would be held soon. "Even though you can continue tomorrow. It’s true that you have always cared about work more than yourself."

In the end they both fell asleep at the same table. However, two hours later, Claudia woke up from the dream world, immediately greeted by her husband who was sleeping beside her. Claudia sniffed her nose, smelling the strong smell of alcohol on Harry’s body. Even though Harry usually didn’t drink alcohol since they got married.

"What happened to you, Harry? You don’t usually drink until you fall asleep."

When Claudia wanted to touch her husband’s head, her husband’s lips moved slightly as if he wanted to say something. Claudia moved her head closer to her husband’s lips to hear more clearly.

"Vivian..."
