I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 197: Prayers?
Chapter 197: Prayers?
Ravi spent a few more hours over at Arlen’s place before Arlen dropped him off at the alley entrance. Ravi stepped out of the car and came over to the driver’s seat.
"Ravi."
"This is enough. You have a call, you should go back and take it." When they were watching a movie, Arlen’s phone kept ringing. He had picked it up and said that one of his friend groups was inviting him for a conference video call.
Ravi had taken that as a cue to leave and Arlen had insisted on driving him back home despite all of Ravi’s refusal.
Arlen leaned out of the window to kiss him. Lingering, slow, he kissed Ravi like it was the first time their lips were meeting. He tasted every tiny crease in his lips, pressed his teeth gently against the pink flesh, and suckled softly at his lower lips before pulling back.
"I am missing you already," Arlen said and Ravi smiled.
He pecked his lips, "Keep your sweet words for bed, Min Sol. Goodbye."
Arlen’s tongue darted to lick his lips, "Oh.."
Ravi did not allow himself to stay any more so as not to be seduced by this person, he moved quickly away, waving his hand as he did so.
He hummed as he walked down familiar alleys before turning at the junction that leads to his street. Ravi stopped suddenly in front of his house.
Three people were sitting down in front of the gate, a board game in front of them with cups of fruit juice by their side. There were all different heights, it was comical.
Monopoly. Ravi recognized the game.
He coughed but the three people pretended that they could not see him.
He coughed again and was ignored. His lips twitched.
"Ah! I was just thinking that it is the perfect time to go and get a phone for the person who will soon be entering school but I guess.." ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"A phone! Really. You are getting a phone."
"I thought you were talking to me."
Asher’s cheeks turned red, "Oh! I did not see you. Good afternoon, Ravi. Welcome back."
"Traitor!" Sage spat out but it was Asher’s turn to pretend that he could not hear him.
Lana seemed pleased to be pulled out of the game she was no doubt roped into and nodded calmly at Arlen.
Arlen ruffled Asher’s hair, "Sorry. I am late and I am not sorry I did not call. It would not happen again, okay?"
Asher smiled and hugged him, "Missed you."
"Well, I missed you too, and you, Sage as well."
Safe just huffed, causing Ravi to smile and he pulled Asher into another hug. He did miss him.
"Go get dressed. Let’s go." He would also be buying a new car today so the day was no doubt going to be busy.
"Sage, where is Malik?"
"He is upstairs praying." Sage said, tilting his head to their house.
Ravi did backtrack and turned to face him completely, the shock in his voice was all so evident, "Praying."
Lana nodded, "Malik is religious. He prays every day."
To whom? Which god in the 99 heavens would dare receive the prayers of the incarnation of the Yama King? He swallowed, Even if Malik was praying to the Heavenly Emperor, it might even be worse.
After that incident of the Netherworld Emperor’s punishment, the relationship between the Heavens and the Netherworld had not been the best. Just judging from how much grim reapers and Sentinels always fought in the lower realms was evidence enough.
He rubbed his head, heading straight into their compound. It was Ravi’s first time in the compound, although he had seen it when the gate was missing, he had not stepped in.
He smiled. That first day he looked in, the compound looked like some kind of abandoned graveyard, the weeds high enough to reach the fence but now, there was a remarkable difference.
A greenhouse was by the right of the entrance of the house. It must be Lana’s. Ravi looked through, seeing some herbs that had been growing on his farm. She must have stolen them from his farm.
Opposite the greenhouse were various scattered apparatus, he raised one of the metal wheels up, not sure what it was.
"When you are done, drop it exactly where it was. I am a bit too tired to deal with Sage’s hissy fit."
Malik.
"What is he building?"
Malik sighed, "Ravi, I truly wish I could help but you might not know this. I am blind."
Ravi rolled his eyes before chuckling, "Like that has ever stopped you."
Malik smiled, "It should be a kind of mini train. He has been watching shows on them for a while."
"That is good news. At least now you know he has a passion. You can rest easy."
"I was not worried about Sage."
"Sure." The patronizing tone was not subtle at all.
Malik’s blank green eyes roamed over him, "You must have thoroughly enjoyed yourself yesterday. He was that good?"
Ravi looked at Malik sharply as he fought down the blush that appeared on his cheeks. While he once had other friends he never discussed such matters with them, not even with his fellow co-lovers when he was in a relationship with Alya.
Malik felt the sharp gaze and raised his hand up, his tone was still as calm as ever, "Calm down. I am not going to ask you for pointers or anything. We did not swing the same way."
Ravi’s tense body relaxed when he dissected Malik’s words, his eyes widened before he shook his head. He had seen Anouk, no, no but the more he thought about it, the more he could not understand it, "You..." He was not sure how to phrase this very intimate question.
Malik sighed at his hesitation, "I am the top. I always top Ravi. But I am sure my sexual habits are not the reason that you came in to see me. This is your first time, do you want tea or coffee?"
Ravi swallowed, and while he wanted some gossip, he had not been the kind to ask. The reason he came in to visit Malik was still at the forefront of his mind, "Sage said you were praying?"
