I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 109: Unusual Entertainment (2)
Well, yeah, it could be considered an interesting show. After all, there was no television or drama series here. So something like this—cutting up a giant demon beast—really did feel like a special event to them.
"Leader," the warrior said eagerly, holding out a stone dagger toward her. "Do you want to make the first cut?"
Roxanna stared at the stone dagger hesitantly, then shifted her gaze to the headless Demon Fenrir. "Ah, but I’ve never cut something this big before."
"It’s alright," Azul said gently.
He reached out and took the stone dagger from the warrior, then turned to Roxanna and smiled. His voice was calm, almost reassuring. "I can guide you," Azul said. "Come closer."
Roxanna walked closer until her shoulder almost brushed his chest. Azul stepped behind her, close enough that she could feel his warmth. Then he gently guided her hands, placing the stone dagger into her grip properly.
"Like this," he murmured near her ear. "Hold it tighter, but don’t strain your wrist."
Cyrus rolled his eyes and silently shook his head because he knew Azul just wanted to find a chance to get some intimacy with their wife.
Or maybe he was also trying to show the settlement residents that Azul was Roxanna’s favorite husband. But since Cyrus and Zeir didn’t really care about that kind of title, they said nothing.
"And then we just need to stab the stone dagger into the Demon Fenrir’s chest." Azul lifted his hand along with Roxanna’s, guiding it straight toward the center of the Demon Fenrir’s chest.
Roxanna swallowed because up close, the demon beast looked even more terrifying. Its body was massive, its fur thick and rough, and even in death it still felt like it carried a heavy, violent presence.
"Now!" Azul thrust the stone dagger quickly, almost making Roxanna stumble forward. Black blood burst out right away, but it wasn’t too strong since the demon beast was already dead. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Azul quickly guided her hand, helping her drag the dagger downward and split open the demon beast’s chest. "Alright. Let the others handle the rest."
He left the dagger stuck inside the body, then gently wiped Roxanna’s hands using a clean cloth made from animal skin.
The moment the warriors sliced the Demon Fenrir’s body and took its heart, Roxanna finally was able to see the Black Crystal inside its body.
Honestly, the Beast Crystal didn’t really look like something living. It looked more like a kidney stone, and it was stuck to the demon beast’s organs. Sometimes it was in the heart, sometimes the lungs, and sometimes even the stomach.
After they cleaned the black crystal from the blood, it sparkled a little when it was exposed to sunlight.
"This is beautiful..." Roxanna whispered, lifting the small black crystal up so the sunlight hit it directly.
[Host, you can combine the crystal with the bond rings!] the system suddenly said.
Roxanna’s eyes widened a little.
That’s right... she still hadn’t given the bond rings to her husbands. She hadn’t even checked what they looked like inside her inventory.
It wasn’t like she wasn’t curious, but she just hadn’t had time to do it.
[How can I combine it?] Roxanna asked in her mind. [It’s not like there’s a jewelry maker here.] Then she couldn’t help adding, [What a pity... beast crystals could look even prettier than diamonds.]
[You can purchase the jewelry maker service in the system, Host!] the system replied. [It only costs 10,000 SP for six rings!]
Roxanna pouted a little because she felt that it was such an expensive price, especially for something useless—oh, wait, of course it was useful!
The black crystal could drive away the Demon Beasts. Even though the crystal that would be combined into their rings would be small, it would definitely still give an effect.
[Alright! I will purchase the jewelry craftsman service!] Roxanna said excitedly. [At least this way, I can give my husbands protective charms as well as wedding rings!]
Her husbands looked confused because they didn’t really know what "wedding rings" meant. But since she sounded so excited, they were sure it must be something good.
[Purchased: Jewelry Craftsman Service for 5 Bond Rings (10,000 SP)]
[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 93,000]
The system said, [Now, you only need to take a black crystal, and then the system will combine it with your bond rings!]
Since the system only needed a very small crystal for a ring, it only asked Roxanna to take a black crystal the size of a pebble, and the system would break it apart.
"Leader, we’re going to hang the black crystals around the settlement!" one of the warriors said excitedly. "We’ll need a lot of hanging roots to tie them up!"
"Wait!" Roxanna said out loud before any of them could move. "I don’t think it’s the right choice to hang the black crystals blatantly around our settlement."
The warriors and even the settlement people looked at Roxanna in confusion. "Why?" one of them asked. "Wasn’t this the whole reason we hunted the Demon Fenrir? If we don’t hang them up, then what’s the point of killing that bastard?!"
"Calm down," Zeir warned when the warriors started to raise their voices. "Leader hasn’t even explained yet."
Roxanna patted Zeir’s arm as a substitute for saying "thank you," then she explained, "I’m not telling you not to use the Black Crystals, but I want us to think of a way so these crystals won’t be clearly visible from the outside."
After all, other demon beasts feared the black crystals because the crystals gave off a terrible, dark feeling. So there was no need to show them openly for everyone to see.
However, it seemed like the people in the settlement still didn’t understand what she meant. So Roxanna spoke again, making her words clearer.
"These kinds of valuable items will definitely become something people fight over if the beastkins from other tribes see them," she said seriously. "That’s why it will be much safer if we hide them."
Sadly, gossip spread faster than anyone expected, even in a primitive world like this.
Even though Roxanna and her people never told anyone that they had killed the Demon Fenrir, the news still leaked out somehow. It was as if the beastkins from other tribes could smell trouble from far away.
Not long after, Roxanna heard the guard shouted, "Leader! Leader! The Black Fang Tribe is coming here!"
Before she could even fully react, another voice yelled in panic. "Shit! It looks like they’re going to raid this place!"
