I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 127: You Are Special!
Cyrus and Luan could only sigh, because once again, Roxanna was looking down on herself too much. She had even started to think that they only liked her because they had low standards.
At this point, she wasn’t just insulting herself with those thoughts, but she was also insulting all of her husbands.
"It’s just something simple that anyone can do," Roxanna said softly. "I’m not special at all."
"But we think you are," Luan replied. His voice was a little firm, and for a moment, Roxanna thought he was angry.
Was he angry? Maybe a little, but not at her. He was angry at the people who had made her doubt herself and feel so small all the time.
If only Luan could turn back time and be born in the same world as her, he promised himself that he would never let any of those rotten people come near his wife.
Sadly, something like that was impossible. So the only thing he could do now was try his best to heal her heart and help her stop seeing herself as someone who didn’t matter.
"Yes, Luan is right," Cyrus added gently. "Who cares if what you did was simple or not? For us, who are used to dealing with cruel people, you are far from ordinary."
"You’re special, Roxanna." Cyrus held her hand and looked into her eyes. "That’s the only thing you need to remember."
Roxanna fell silent for a moment and could only look at Luan and Cyrus in turn. She didn’t know what to say, because all her life, she had never believed that she was more than ordinary.
After all, no one had ever told her that before.
[Besides, what kind of special person grows up in an orphanage and lives such a boring life?] Roxanna thought. [I never even did anything amazing back then.]
Luan and Cyrus exchanged glances. They didn’t say anything, but both of them were thinking the same thing.
"Didn’t you tell us before that you used to be a weather specialist?" Luan suddenly asked. "Someone who could predict the weather?"
Roxanna nodded slowly. "Yes. What about it?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Luan looked at Cyrus again, quietly asking him to talk to her. "Roxanna," Cyrus said gently at last, "no normal person can predict the weather so accurately."
Instead of feeling flattered by the praise, Roxanna only put herself down even more. "But... that was because of machines. Without all that, I wouldn’t be able to predict the weather easily."
She could still use simple things, like watching the wind or feeling the temperature. But that was never enough to predict big changes.
In this world, she couldn’t even predict the weather at all because the weather here was too messy. Sometimes it rained without warning. Sometimes it suddenly became very hot.
That was why she felt her old knowledge wasn’t very useful anymore.
"How about the shelter?" Cyrus asked softly. "The one you built to survive the snowstorm apocalypse?"
Roxanna pressed her lips into a thin line. "But... it ended badly."
"No, it didn’t," Luan said firmly. "That bad ending wasn’t your fault. It happened because some terrible people stole something important from you!"
Even after hearing so many reasons why she was special, Roxanna still couldn’t believe it. In her heart, she still felt small and unimportant.
"Alright," Luan sighed. "Then think about this. A normal person wouldn’t wake up in a new world after dying."
Roxanna opened her mouth to reply, but then closed it again. Even if she wasn’t the only one who got a second life and a system, it was still something very rare.
"See? That’s special, isn’t it?" Luan asked.
She didn’t say anything. She just nodded in response.
"I want you to say it," Cyrus said suddenly. "Tell us that you’re special."
Roxanna frowned. [That sounds so embarrassing. Why are they suddenly asking me to say something like that?]
Why? Of course, it was so those words could sink deeply into her heart. So she would remember them. So she wouldn’t keep putting herself down in the future.
"I..." Roxanna hesitated. Her lips moved, but no sound came out at first. Her fingers curled tightly around her clothes as she looked down.
"I’m... special," she finally said in a very small voice.
Luan raised an eyebrow. "Louder."
Roxanna’s face heated up. "Do I really have to?"
"Yes," Cyrus replied without hesitation. "You do."
She took a deep breath, as if gathering all her courage.
"I’m special," she said again, this time a little louder. Then she quickly covered her face with both hands, feeling extremely shy. "That’s enough."
Since neither Luan nor Cyrus wanted to pressure their wife, they finally stopped asking her to repeat those words.
"You have to remember that," Luan said gently as he put his arm around Roxanna’s shoulders. "I want you to say it again when Calen wakes up."
Roxanna immediately lifted her head from her hands. "T-That’s unnecessary!"
There was no way she could say something like that out of nowhere in front of Calen. Just thinking about it made her feel embarrassed. Still, compared to before, she was much more relaxed now.
They rested inside the tent for at least six hours because the rain wouldn’t stop. When it finally ended, the sky had turned dark, and the sun had already set in the west.
"Should we continue our journey now?" Roxanna asked as soon as she stepped out of the tent. She reached out and touched the rock wall. "But it’s really slippery."
It would be better to wait a few more hours so the surface could dry completely. However, there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t rain again.
Besides, the longer they stayed here, the longer it would take to return to Calen.
"Roxanna, you have to turn into a fox," Luan said softly. "I’ll carry you on my back."
Roxanna frowned. "No, I don’t want to burden you."
Luan let out a heavy sigh. "You’re just a little fox. Your weight doesn’t even feel like anything," he said. "Besides, this isn’t a suggestion. It’s the safest way for us to do this if you want to go up right now."
