I Can Hear the Heart's Voice of Traditional Chinese Medicine-Chapter 280 - 124: The Health Center Is Pretty Good, I’m at the Health Center Too
Looking at Mi Nannan, everyone had eyes like wolves and tigers.
Their gazes were fixed.
Many subconsciously straightened their bodies, wishing they could straighten every part of themselves to show off their masculinity to Mi Nannan.
However, unfortunately, Mi Nannan didn't spare them another glance. Instead, after hearing Cai Huanjin's words, she thanked him with a smile, "Thanks for the compliment, class monitor. It's just that everyone is too familiar, which makes it hard to make a move."
With these words, she politely declined Cai Huanjin's proposal.
While Mi Nannan wasn't materialistic, she didn't plan to randomly give herself away to anyone. Such irresponsible actions towards herself were not something she wanted or intended to do.
Cai Huanjin mentioned it because he felt a bit stirred by Mi Nannan's lovely appearance. However, not wanting to make it too obvious in front of classmates, he tried to shift the focus to everyone else. Yet, unexpectedly, Mi Nannan still declined, leaving him at a loss for words.
Too familiar to make a move; she completely hadn't considered them. Otherwise, she wouldn't have rejected them so casually.
Nevertheless, Cai Huanjin didn't mind. Although everyone used to be classmates, due to gender reasons, they didn't meet often, so naturally, there wasn't much deep friendship.
Mi Nannan's rejection was nothing unusual.
However, while Cai Huanjin didn't mind, some others couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed.
Originally, everyone hoped that this gathering might result in winning a beauty's favor. Even if their careers didn't progress much compared to Cai Huanjin and Gu Huahua, winning over Mi Nannan would be quite an achievement, higher than surpassing Cai Huanjin and Gu Huahua.
But unexpectedly, Mi Nannan hadn't even considered them, making the atmosphere at the tea table a bit awkward.
Fortunately, Cai Huanjin was skilled at handling such situations. After glancing around, he noticed Ji Xiuwen hadn't arrived yet, and subtly shifted the topic to Ji Xiuwen: "By the way, where's Ji Xiuwen? Didn't he say he'd be here today? Why haven't we seen him?"
"I saw his message in the group earlier. It seems he's on the way, should be here soon." Someone chimed in.
The topic shifted away from Mi Nannan, and the atmosphere returned to how it was initially.
"Class monitor, now that you're at the City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, don't forget to support us old classmates in the future!"
"That's right! Amongst us, it seems only you and Gu Huahua have a bright future."
"Exactly! The class monitor and Gu Huahua are practically our idols. They've become elites entering the workforce, especially the class monitor, who's now thriving."
"He's articulate and capable, with a bright future ahead; such a guy is truly impressive."
After receiving rounds of flattery and admiration, Cai Huanjin modestly cupped his fists in thanks, occasionally glancing at Mi Nannan, who was elegantly sipping tea.
The more he looked, the more he liked her.
However, that lingering feeling was well concealed by him.
Cai Huanjin wasn't someone who liked expressing his feelings or flattering others, even if he really liked them. He preferred others to flatter him instead.
Yet, facing Cai Huanjin's frequent glances, Mi Nannan showed little interest, her expression very calm, occasionally lowering her head to play on her phone. Compared to Cai Huanjin, she was actually more interested in Lu Xuan, who was the top student in their class back then.
She came today, hoping to see how Lu Xuan was doing.
But unexpectedly, Lu Xuan didn't show up today.
Even though she knew in the group that Lu Xuan wouldn't come, she considered that Ji Xiuwen might bring him along eventually, so she decided to try her luck today.
Unfortunately, her luck was a bit off.
Ji Xiuwen hadn't arrived yet, and Lu Xuan didn't come either.
If it weren't impolite to leave directly and she being the only girl there, she would have left already.
While she was thinking about these things, someone suddenly mentioned, "Didn't Mi Nannan just ask about Lu Xuan? Does anyone know how he's been lately? I heard he went to the District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine after graduation. With his grades, he shouldn't be doing too badly, right?"
"Shouldn't be doing badly, Lu Xuan was famously good with his grades."
"But what about Ji Xiuwen? Didn't he go to the County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine? How come it seems like he's moved to the city?"
"I know a bit about Ji Xiuwen. I chatted with him before, seems like a position he had lined up fell through, and he ended up working in the herbal pharmacy, which is quite tough."
"Herbal pharmacy? With his grades, it's indeed an underutilization of talent to be in a pharmacy."
"It's the same for everyone. This society values connections over abilities. Unless your abilities can make the majority of people take notice, otherwise, you're not particularly missed."
After these words, everyone fell silent.
Every year so many interns graduate from medical school; hospitals aren't short of one or two interns. In fact, most freshly graduated students end up doing miscellaneous tasks in the hospital.
Many doctors actually aren't very willing to take on interns.
They're troublesome, pose many problems, and crucially, when asked questions, they need to spend extra effort explaining.
