I Can Program My Body?-Chapter 112: Selling Herbs
Chapter 112: Selling Herbs
"Don’t worry, I heard the Verdant Group plans to set up a branch here. They should already have a liaison office," Nash said with a smile.
As one of the Verdant Group’s exclusive herb suppliers, Nash was the first to hear that they plan to set up a branch in the Dark Willow Shelter.
After discovering a perfect herb worth tens of millions of merits in this place, the Verdant Group decided to establish a branch just in case.
---
Not wanting to disappoint them on their first harvest, Nash quickly took action and contacted Leslie in the Virtual World.
"What do you want?" Leslie asked impatiently.
"I’m here to sell herbs. Do you have people at the Dark Willow Shelter?" Nash replied, ignoring her tone.
"Alright, wait a minute. I’m still at the place—I’ll meet you."
Without wasting another word, Leslie ended the call and entered the Dark Plane.
---
Following the address Nash provided, she quickly found their temporary residence.
"So, you’ve teamed up," Leslie remarked, spotting a few familiar faces.
"It’s Boss Noir who charmed us!" they joked.
"This shameless guy charmed you? What a joke," Leslie rolled her eyes.
"Boss is just confident. How could that be shameless?"
"Whatever. Show me the herbs."
"Here they are."
As Nash took out the neatly arranged herbs from his storage ring, Leslie’s casual demeanor turned to shock.
"This—did you steal these?!"
"How could we steal them? Who even has this many herbs lying around?"
"Who knows~"
"Hurry up and count already! Stop chattering!"
Although they already had Nash’s estimate, they still wanted to hear the final price.
"Alright, fine. Let me call someone. There’s too much here to go through alone," Leslie said, logging into the Virtual World to contact others.
She thought Nash was only selling a few thousand merits’ worth of herbs, who knew it was a pile of mountain.
Not wanting to make a mistake with such a large quantity of herbs, she had no choice but to call in help.
The others also nodded in understanding. Even they had taken a long time just to sort everything, much less identifying and pricing them.
After all, unlike Nash, they couldn’t see the herbs’ void saturation rate directly and had to identify the herbs based on appearance alone.
---
Soon, the people Leslie had called arrived promptly.
Although the Dark Willow branch of the Verdant Group hadn’t been built yet, the key personnel were already in place.
Counting and identifying each herb, they quickly calculated the total value.
"Based on the bulk price, the total comes to 116,720 merits," the professional evaluator reported.
"What about the market price? How much is it?"
"Market price?" The evaluator frowned, confused by the question.
"According to my contract, the Verdant Group is required to purchase my herbs at market price," Nash replied calmly.
"What?! Impossible! How are we supposed to make a profit with that?" the evaluator blurted out in shock.
"Who would even agree to such an outrageous deal?".
"Anyway, it’s in the contract," Nash said with a shrug, pulling out a physical copy of the contract.
"As long as I didn’t buy these from a third-party source, the Verdant Group is obligated to buy whatever I harvest in the Dark Plane."
Seeing Leslie’s name listed as the guarantor, the evaluators stared at her in disbelief.
"Is he your relative or something? Why would you sign off on this kind of deal?"
"Don’t blame me, I consulted with the Verdant Group before agreeing to the contract." Leslie said, equally frustrated.
She assumed Nash could only gather a few thousand merits’ worth of herbs at most, how could she have predicted it would be over a hundred thousand?
If she had known he was this capable, she would never have agreed so easily.
Now, thinking about the contract’s one-year validity, Leslie could only pray that the Verdant Group wouldn’t fire her in anger.
At the rate Nash gathered herbs, they could lose millions of merits before the contract expired.
Meanwhile, hearing her defense, the evaluator had no choice but to recalculate the herbs based on market value.
"The total would be 127,260 merits," the evaluator muttered bitterly.
From 116 thousand to 127 thousand, they would be losing over 10,000 merits in a single deal.
Fortunately, once the herbs were sold to others or refined into potions, some of that loss could be recovered.
Soon after agreeing on the price, Nash finally received the heavenly notification:
[The Verdant Group has sent you 127,260 merits. Do you accept?]
With over a hundred thousand merits in his pocket, the evaluator quickly packed up the herbs.
"Do you also buy loot from dark beasts?" Nash asked.
"Just sell those to the official store. We don’t accept them," the evaluator said coldly.
Although the loss wouldn’t come from their own pockets, their salaries were tied to the performance of the Verdant Store’s branch at Dark Willow Shelter.
"Alright, I was just asking." Nash didn’t press the issue.
Anyway, the loot they had wasn’t much.
---
As Leslie and the evaluators left, one of the 3-star void warriors from his team took out the dark beast loot and quickly recycled it at the official store.
Counting up the total, they had earned a whopping 130,800 merits!
"It’s time to divide the money~"
After distributing each member’s share, Nash was left with 65,400 merits.
At first, he thought earning 12 to 13 thousand merits per hunt was already great.
Now, in the blink of an eye, his profits had skyrocketed five times.
And this was just the beginning; they were still unfamiliar with each other, and their teamwork wasn’t even refined yet.
Once they got used to each other, and their herb-gathering ability became more efficient, earning hundreds of thousands of merits wouldn’t be a dream.
Calming down, Nash quickly informed the team of the time to meet tomorrow.
"That’s great, we’ll clear our schedules!"
"Rest easy, boss, we’ll be there on time!"
"Haha, after earning so much, there is no way we’ll be late."
"Alright then, see you all later..."
Saying goodbye, Nash logged off and returned to reality.
---
Stretching out his body, Nash glanced at the time.
"It’s already a bit late."
Because they had to sort the herbs and there was a delay during the sale, he was already over his schedule.
Thinking about the pile of official documents waiting for him, Nash flopped onto his bed.
"There’s always tomorrow..."
