I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 113: False S-Rank

"His defense is out of our level. We can’t kill him." The Crimson says.

All the other members gather around the Crimson and Blaze.

The Harpist almost falls down due to fatigue, but the Crimson catches her.

"What should we do now? Retreat?" The Runner says.

"That isn’t an option. He saw you with me now. Letting him live means destroying your lives." Blaze says.

"Then what’s our plan?" The Swordmaster says. "We can’t just bash at him aimlessly when he isn’t even ticklish."

Suddenly, Isaac’s voice rings out in Blaze’s head. Master, Sebastian has finished killing all the corrupt cops.

And with that statement, an idea pops up in Blaze’s mind.

"I need you to pick up someone nearby, Runner. We’re going to buy you some time to do this."

"Who?"

"Sebastian Herrera."

"The Psychotic Detective? He’s on our side?" The Brutalist voice goes higher. He’s obviously a fan of Sebastian.

Blaze nods.

"If it’s Psychosis Bullets, then maybe we can hurt him." The Crimson says. He looks down onto his armor. The protective layer on his arms has already gone.

He and the Brutalist are basically fighting naked now with the defective armor.

"The raven will guide you to his position." Blaze says. Isaac flies down from above and lands on the Runner’s shoulder.

"Go, Phillip!" The Crimson says.

"On it!" The Runner pulls down his visor and dashes away.

"Calling more help, eh? You desperate mortals."

Adam snaps his hand out, and a sword in yellow appears in his hand. That sword has an identical design to Blaze’s Sun Bird.

But Sun Bird has a golden, heroic shade. This has a sickly yellow of a dying sun.

"Sun Bird?"

"Oh, you know this sword? So you should know what it means."

"Yeah. I know that it is a fake."

"You uncultured demon. This is the real deal." Adam suddenly gets angry and yells at Blaze.

"Is that right? I saw the real one. I know where the real one is." Blaze points his wand at Adam, provoking him to attack.

Adam stays silent, fingers caressing the Fake Sun Bird.

"No wonder why no one can find it. It has fallen into your demon’s hand."

Blaze smirks. He just realized something from this short exchange.

The mystery relating to the Sun Bird is one thing. But Adam refers to them as mortals. This confirms Blaze’s suspicion that Adam is being possessed by some otherworldly being.

Whatever this being is, it can’t stay inside Adam for too long. He is just a B-rank Awakened after all. How much durability is in there for Adam to withstand this being?

Not much, Blaze guesses.

They have been attacking him blindly, while what they actually should do is buy time to let this ’possession’ end.

"Change of plan. Protect yourself at all costs and keep Adam from escaping." Blaze says.

"What?! That doesn’t make any sense..." The Brutalist says.

"No. It makes total sense." The Crimson understands what Blaze is implying. "Follow the Wraith’s plan."

All the A-Force members scattered into the darkness, ambushing Adam in case he tries to run away.

Adam laughs hysterically.

"You realize now, eh? But that doesn’t change anything. I can kill you and get this follower out with ease."

"Then do it."

Blaze charges his wand with Thunder Force again. The bone wand eats all the electricity and glows up purplish.

"That boring attack doesn’t work on me." Adam casually walks forward and laughs in Blaze’s face.

"It isn’t for you."

Blaze aims the tip of the wand into his mouth. Desperate times need desperate measures.

If his Lightning Ascension can convert the red Thunderbolt into power, it can do so with the purple Thunderbolt as well.

The Swordmaster watches everything from the darkness and sweats on behalf of Blaze. They all know how destructive his purple lightning is.

"What a crazy guy..."

And thunder roars, the purple lightning punches into Blaze’s throat. He can feel electricity dancing in his organs and tissues. But he holds in the discomfort and directs all of it into his lungs.

Thunder Force and Lightning Ascension may make him resistant to electricity. But his mortal form has a limit to how much energy it can hold.

Even with resistance, he can be blown up by the sheer amount of energy this purple energy produces.

Different from Thunder Ascension, this version of the power neutralizes every other enhancement and focuses on power and speed. He even suffers from attribute penalty.

Blaze wobbles in place and almost falls down due to the mental strike.

He swipes his finger and immediately buys a Blood Potion and Mind Potion. He chugs all of them down.

"Too much for you, yes?" Adam is entertained by Blaze’s action and stands still for him to finish. "You know that even all of this is not enough to kill me."

The two bottles turn to nothing. Blaze wipes the corner of his mouth.

"We shall see."

The Moonlight Karambit appears in Blaze’s hand again, and the shadow sphere covers the entire space.

"This is idiotic."

Adam raises the Fake Sub Bird and goes into a fighting stance.

"We shall see."

"Argh! You demons are all the same."

Adam turns into the blur and dashes right in front of Blaze’s face. He thrusts the sword directly at Blaze’s forehead.

Blaze barely dodges the attack. He is the fastest he has ever been, but without the Cognition enhancement, it is hard to control this type of speed.

The Runner finally returns with Sebastian. They regroup with the other A-Force members.

Sebastian was already updated about everything on the way here.

"How the fuck am I able to shoot in this darkness?" Sebastian mumbles.

"I’ll help you."

Isaac flies on top of Sebastian’s head and covers his eyes with the raven wings.

"Follow my movement."

Isaac can communicate with Blaze telepathically, and he can also feel Blaze’s position. With extreme cooperation, they may be able to shoot at Adam.

But fate has other plans for them. The yellow power of the Lantern exudes out from Isaac and, for some reason, seeps into Sebastian’s mind.

"You have another power?" Isaac says.

Sebastian doesn’t answer. Instead, Isaac turns into a solid black crown made out of feathers with a red eye in the middle.
