I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 114: Last Effort

Blaze dashes away from Adam. On his retreat, he splits into three exact figures with purple auras around them.

"Cloning?" Adam raises an eyebrow, spinning the Fake Sun Bird twice and drawing two curved lines in front.

The sword slices into the space itself and creates yellow fissures floating in the air.

When Blaze’s two illusions get close, the fissure vibrates like it’s alive and crushes the illusions into dust.

"Oh. Just a trick on the eye. What a disappointment."

Adam sarcastically says, scratching his chin without any worry at all.

The third Blaze appears behind Adam and slashes the Karambit at him.

Adam turns back in an instant and thrusts the Sun Bird right through Blaze’s chest. But he cannot feel any resistance at all, exactly like hurling the sword in the air.

A hand made out of shadow reaches out from the ground. The bloody red Moonlight Karambit is in this hand.

Blaze uses the same tactic he has applied for the Deputy. Use the illusions as decoys to create an opportunity for him.

He slices at Adam’s feet.

Too bad for Blaze, this tactic does not work this time. As the blade of the Karambit touches Adam’s skin, his entire body fades into nothingness.

This Adam was also an illusion. The real Adam is currently floating above, and when Blaze appears, he dives down with the sword, striking onto the ground that Blaze is occupying as a shadow.

Thunder roars. Blaze disappears from his position, leaving a purple lightning bolt behind his path.

Blaze circles around and gets behind Adam’s back. He slices the Karambit when they are feet away. A red energy fang shoots out from the Karambit’s blade and strikes Adam.

Without checking if his attack is a success, Blaze immediately disappears into the darkness with Shadow Phantom.

The Karambit’s fang proves to be useless. Its energy is easily dissipated by Adam’s pure defense.

When Adam turns back. Blaze is already nowhere to be found.

"Hiding, huh? Stop being a coward and come face me."

"Already there."

Blaze stabs Adam right in the throat while still staying invisible. The Karambit slices through his flesh like butter.

Red blood splatters out like sudden rain.

Adam holds his neck and exudes a shockwave to the surrounding area.

Blaze is blasted away against his will. He successfully hurts Adam, but victory is still too far away.

Yellow energy covers Adam’s neck and sews it together, healing it in a very forceful way.

Blaze uses Shadow Phantom to teleport out of the force of the shockwave and comes at Adam again. He moves at an extreme speed, but the world around him is as calm as the surface of a lake.

But Adam is able to sense him. His eyes blink a few times, turning brighter and brighter with every blink.

Blaze’s figure is revealed in front of his eyes.

"So that’s why I was unable to see you. This was no invisibility. You just hide yourself within darkness."

Blaze strikes at Adam with the Karambit. But this time, Adam is able to parry the strike with the Fake Sun Bird.

"Your move is amateurish. This isn’t a move of an old demon."

Adam gives Blaze a spinning kick and sends him flying into the air.

"What actually happened to you? Is your memory locked away?"

Sweat covers Blaze’s white Tattered Mask. Purple lines run across his body, pulsing like unstable channels of a volcano. It is waiting to explode at any moment now.

In contrast to him, Adam doesn’t have even the slightest sign of fatigue or being broken. It almost seems like he can keep going for God knows how long.

"Realize the situation now, yeah? You will die here, demon. And I will peel out your True Form like removing the shell of a shrimp."

Adam walks forward slowly, increasing the pressure and intimidation he has on Blaze.

"You feel regret, yet?" Adam points the tip of the Fake Sun Bird at Blaze.

"What I did. I did because I have to. For that I have no regrets." Blaze speaks up.

"Typical."

A screeching noise slips in Adam’s ears. He can hear a bullet coming flying at him from afar.

But he pays it no mind. A mere bullet cannot harm him. Even if he is only a projection right now.

The bullet smashes into Adam’s face and explodes into several pieces of transparent glass. These glasses almost look like liquid. It eats into Adam’s perfect defensive layer and erodes his skin away.

Adam falls down to his knees.

Outside the shadow sphere, Sebastian stays absolutely still with his hand extended. His trusty revolver now is twice as big with a long black barrel.

His gun has transformed. Raven feathers cover it whole, and a red eye is floating at the position of the iron sight.

Sebastian wears Isaac on his head, which now has turned into a feather-like crown.

Sebastian still wears his police uniform. The crown and the bizarre guns make him look out of this world.

Blaze retracts his shadow sphere. With Darkness, he can teleport, create illusions, and turn into a shadow. But all these tricks seem useless to Adam.

His power is no longer enough to deal with Adam. He needs help, and darkness serves no purpose other than a hindrance.

"He’s hurt! Go all in!" The Crimson can see the inside now, he yells with all his being.

The Harpist is sitting down on the ground, circulating her breathing. Her stamina got drained a lot after the last attack. But she still holds on.

Geri pulls herself up and summons her harp again. With one huge swipe onto the strings, a shockwave of vibration spreads out.

Blaze disappears from his position and immediately reappears right beside Adam. He shoves Adam to the ground and thrusts the Moonlight Karambit into his chest.

With his newfound power, Blaze is able to penetrate Adam’s glowing flesh. Adam’s yellow energy is constantly being absorbed into the red blade.

"Get off me, you degenerate!" Adam yells. The skin on his face is slowly regenerating. For now, he is a talking red skull.

Vibration shoots out from Adam’s skin, aiming to blast Blaze away. He grabs Adam’s shoulder with one hand to hold on and uses the rest of his power to twist the knife that is still inside Adam.

Pain has finally come for Adam, and his body is shaking because of it.

"You lowlife!" Adam grabs his Fake Sun Bird and slashes at Blaze.

The Runner has reached their position and immediately uses his blade legs to stomp Adam’s arm, pinning it down.

Adam shouts in fury and lifts his arm, almost throwing the Runner away, but the Crimson is also here, delivering another devastating blow to Adam’s head, stunning him even more.

Adam’s arm lowers down. The Swordmaster appears beside the Runner and thrusts his sword down, helping his teammate pin the arm.

The Brutalist approaches the other side, holding Adam’s left arm.

Adam Gulliver, and the god who is possessing him, is finally being subdued for the first time.

"You scoundrels! Let me go! I’ll kill all of you."

Sebastian finally arrives at the scene. He points the gun directly at Adam’s forehead, touching the barrel to his red tissue.

"It’s time to die, Commissioner." Sebastian pulls the trigger.

The Psychosis Bullet flies out and drills into Adam’s head. It leaves a dent on his skull but isn’t able to penetrate it.

Adam screams, not because of pain, but because of rage. His body becomes an unstable source of energy that repeatedly pushes everyone away and also eats away their flesh.

The Runner is the least durable of all. He vomits blood but still does his best to hold Adam down.

Sebastian empties his revolver. Five consecutive shots strike into a single point on Adam’s forehead.

The bullet ricochets away without being able to pierce Adam’s brain.

Adam laughs like a madman.

"Ha ha! You stupid fuck! Even as a projection, you can’t kill me!"

Sebastian reloads his revolver. He bites his lips hard. He knows Adam has a point.

"It is not possible to penetrate his skin. I need to shoot at him at least 16 more times!" Sebastian says.

A yellow shock wave pushes him a few feet away, preventing him from firing at Adam.

Blaze and the A-Force are also barely holding on. They need to keep Adam still until Sebastian can penetrate Adam’s skull.

Psychosis Bullet power is that it can kill anything. When it penetrates a person’s skull, it very well means that the bullet kills them entirely. Regeneration power be damned.

"You just need to do your thing, Sebastian."

A four-winged angel comes flying down from the surface. Anton and Hugo have awoken and fused together again.

Hutton claps his two hands together, and a black, semi-transparent energy dome fills the place. He has mastered the ability to slow down time at will.

"Temporal Expansion!"
