Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Animated Souls

Another (Ultra Rare) item added to the collection.

Blaze gently caresses the bark-like surface of the Necrosis Destruction Wand. Suddenly, he aims it at the sky. Red lightning burst out from the bone tip of the wand, striking into the sky above.

It is a vacated area in the desert. Not many people will be able to see this strike, so Blaze has no worry of the chaos it may create.

The red lightning fuses into the white clouds above, converting them into a group of dark, stormy clouds. Red electricity roars inside the cloud, clashing against itself.

The red lightning bolt is enough to affect the natural state of the weather. Blaze doesn’t actually know the reason for this. He may have to ask Francois for more information. Maybe he will have some book relating to natural phenomena or weather magic.

The red lightning bolt is able to cause an effect in the cloud but isn’t enough to maintain this effect. The group of dark clouds quickly dissipates and turns back to its normal creamy white color.

Blaze then inserts the energy of Thunder Force into the Destruction Wand; the purple lightning bolt shoots out to the sky. Its electricity is also able to gather the clouds together but unable to convert them to storm clouds entirely. Similar to the red lightning bolt.

Previously, the wand was able to shoot three levels of lightning. The first, yellow lightning, is its normal attack. The second, red lightning, is its combined attack with Thunder Force. The third is the purple lightning that needs a brief six-second charge.

Now the yellow lightning has disappeared, leaving only level two and level three left.

Blaze doesn’t get a level fourth of the lightning. Instead, he received a new attack that is both a fusion between the wand Hidden Power and his newly acquired knowledge.

He holds the wand with both of his hands and places it in front of his mouth. From within Blaze’s tongue, an ancient language is spoken. It is incomprehensible and total gibberish to the listener. The primordial sound of the universe.

This sound is not a noise a human can produce. When Blaze speaks it, it brings forth a feeling of anger and aggressiveness. Similar to the wrath of a god.

A transparent illusion starts appearing around him. The image of a blue dragon flying around Blaze. Its body is long like a snake, and it has no wings. It rides the fabric of the universe to fly from one place to another.

On its body, blue scales flicker white electricity. The power of lightning and thunder is fused within it. It is as if the dragon is a lightning bolt itself.

And then Blaze lets out the power of Thunder Force. The yellow electricity gets absorbed by the black wand.

A small purple ball is manifested on the tip of the wand.

This is Thunder Wrath, the newest form of attack of the Necrosis Destruction Wand. Performing it alone is a hassle. The ability to perform it is also challenging.

Blaze was able to acquire the knowledge of speaking the primordial tongue inside the <Spellbook of the Death>. With it, he can speak the command line that this spell needs in order to activate it.

The command line was communicated by the wand itself. Since it became Blaze’s Arcane Convergence, it has been similar to a third arm of him.

And after half a minute is finished, Blaze lifts the wand to point at the sky. The small ball of purple light turns into a beam that shoots into the sky. It becomes a black hole of darkness that sucks every cloud in the area into it.

And then, a giant vortex of cloud materialized from that hole. Purple lightning bolts roar inside, clashing on each other chaotically. Each lightning bolt has a destructive capability no smaller than Blaze’s Thunderbolt.

He quickly commands the spell to deactivate itself. The power of this new attack is way too much. Blaze has underestimated its destructive power.

From the look of it, if Blaze had let it continue, the vortex may have leveled this entire desert into nothing. He doesn’t want to do that.

"This one is better to use only in actual combat." Blaze mumbles.

He can’t believe that there is a day he is saying that I am too dangerous, I won’t be using my attack in practice. But it has become reality right now.

He quickly throws the thought outside of his head and focuses back on testing the new power.

This time, Blaze releases the new Destruction Beam, now named Necrosis Destruction Beam.

This beam was always strong. Its only weakness was the charge time. It is deadly, that is sure. But its charging time had always been such a nuisance that Blaze began to use it less and less.

Now the charge issue is no longer.

Blaze points the wand, and the dark, devoid-of-life beam shoots out from the tip of the wand. It zigzags around Blaze, going in the direction that he draws out in his head.

The Beam has become much easier to use. The first thing that Blaze notices is the control. He can direct the beam how he wants, instead of letting it fly on its own.

The beam has another power. It can create a Destruction Knight. A being that Blaze doesn’t really know what it is capable of. The wand doesn’t communicate this with him.

The Spellbook of the Death, on the other hand, has a definition that is similar to this being. But it isn’t a Destruction Knight, the book only mentions a Death Knight, which is the closest thing Blaze can get.

Apart from the new power, Blaze also learned to use three spells.

He opens his palm, and his hand turns grey with visible cracks on its skin.

"Necrosis Touch..."

The first spell. Its effect is that by simply touching a living being, Blaze will be able to drain its life force for himself. Killing it while healing him.

There aren’t any living animals around, but Blaze can see some desert grass that is barely hanging on.

Here comes the Butcher of Akansa.

Blaze uses the Moonlight Karambit to slice himself in the hand. He then touches that grass on the ground with Necrosis Touch. It withers immediately, and Blaze’s small wound closes itself with immense speed.

"This spell isn’t that great on the offensive front. But it is going to be very useful for healing."

Blaze has Blood Potion, but if he has a way to heal without wasting experience points, that would be better. Necrosis Touch is also a special type of spell. One that doesn’t need a convergence or command lines to activate. He can just use it instantly.

The second spell that he learned, Animated Corpse, needs both a convergence and verbal lines to activate. However, he doesn’t have any corpse to animate.

He can, however, use this power on the trapped souls inside the Lantern of the Damned thanks to some unknown compatibility that the System detected.

Now all he needs is a test subject.

Blaze has the perfect candidate in mind. He equips the Shadow Tattered Cloak and the Tattered Mask and once again changes into the Wraith.

The Lantern of the Damned materializes in Blaze’s hand. He pulls the soul of the deceased Deputy, Zach Dunn, out of the Lantern.

His transparent body falls on the ground. Weirdly enough, his soul doesn’t wear his police uniform or casual clothes. He wears the golden armor of the True Sun.

Soul wears whatever it sees as its true self. So the reason why Zach appears in this form is because he is truly devoted to the cause of this cult. Very different from Gulliver. Gulliver’s soul wears the Commissioner’s uniform, he sees him as the leader of ACPD before a follower of the True Sun cult.

Zach looks around. His expression is devoid of light and any hope. Blaze did give him a taste of eternal soul burning to answer for his crime.

"Wraith... You don’t serve any god, do you?" Zach lifts his head up to meet Blaze’s gaze.

"That’s correct. What’s changed your mind?"

"Only a god is able to have the power to govern the soul. You may not be a total god, but I won’t be surprised that you are some kind of demigod."

"It’s a shame to disappoint you. But I am no god. Now stay still for me to test something."

Zach lets out a huge sigh. "I am your prisoner. I am here for you to do as you please."

"You are one honest man, huh?"

Blaze aims his Necrosis Wand at Zach. He once again lets out the primordial sound of the universe, this time it is short and clear, bringing a soothing vibe similar to a lullaby.

The color of this spell is green. Green energy exudes out of the wand very gently, like the flow of a small river. It reaches out to Zach and completely envelops him.
