I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 138: Urban Myth
Mythomancy, the school of magic that drains and exerts its power from the belief of the surrounding living beings. It gains power from the myth and realizes that myth into existence.
For a long time, it was also known as Theomancy. The way to become a god. For some scholars, Theomancy is the final evolution of Mythomancy, even though not many have been able to prove it.
The pink energy all pours inside Blaze’s head, filling his mind with what can only be described as unimaginable. And then all the white floating books scatter away, leaving only two that approach him.
These two books open themselves up. One has a painting of a hooded figure with a demonic yellow lantern. The other, a golden warrior with the falcon sword in his hand.
Blaze recognizes both of these. One is him wearing the Tattered Cloak and holding the Lantern of the Damned. While the other is him in his Solar Armor with the Sunbird in hand. The dark book of the Wraith is much more defined and clear than the golden book of the Sunbird, which is still in a semi-transparent state.
Blaze understands that the reason for this is because the people have only known about the Wraith yet. According to the book, Blaze should not be able to manifest the second book, as no one else should know about him in his Solar Armor.
The Liberty Sons did see him in this armor, but they are too few to even cause a myth to be created. They also do not believe in Blaze in the way that is required for a myth to realize.
The Wraith has done many things for a myth to realize. First, Blaze struck the heart of the filthiest place in this city, the Roof. Then he decimated the corrupt Police Force. This causes people to believe in him. Believing that the Wraith is something larger than life and is not simply a mere mortal.
Blaze in the Solar Armor has not done anything similar yet. But maybe this book was able to show up because of the old myth of the Sun God, Infera. Because Blaze holds the Sun Bird, his myth was somehow transferred to him.
Blaze opens his two palms. The two books, one dark and exuding black smoke, one shiny and illuminating warmth, turn into two separate energy lines that go inside of Blaze’s wrist.
Two myths have now been carved into him. If he raises it well, it will become something that he can never imagine.
Blaze’s consciousness returns to reality.
[A new skill <Mythomancy (Unranked)> has been added.]

[You have gained the following spells: Myth Manifestation, Reality Overwrite.]
[You have gained the following myths: The Vengeful Wraith (Urban Myth), The Sun God (Cosmic Myth - Dormant)]
Blaze slowly lowers down. Each half of his body is filled with two distinctive illusions, one as the shadow figure, the other as the golden warrior. When his feet touch the ground, the illusions disappear, leaving only Blaze, who is wearing the Tattered Cloak.
"The power of this book is not what I had anticipated." Blaze mumbles.
He unequips all items and turns back to his usual self. The black symbol on his right wrist expands and lets out black smoke. The smoke envelops Blaze and turns him into another version of the Wraith.
This is Myth Manifestation. This spell does not require any vocal activation or arcane convergence. It only needs the mark of myth, which he has already received.
It can turn his appearance into the version that most people believe him to be.
Blaze right now is slightly different from his actual Wraith’s appearance. His cloak is completely made out of smoke, and his eyes are red and sharp. On his feet is a dark cloud that shoots out red lightning continuously.
"So this is how people perceive me..."
Blaze reaches out his hand. A red lightning bolt shoots out from the cloud and smashes the nearest wall. Its power is way weaker than Blaze’s Thunder Force and can’t even drill out a hole on the orange rock.
Blaze then claps his hands together. The black smoke that makes up his cloak expands and fills the place. This is very similar to the Hidden Power Darkness that the Moonlight Karambit has.
And finally, Blaze’s mouth opens wide. His mouth turns into a lightning vortex that sucks everything in the surrounding area. The souls from the adjacent room suddenly feel a pull to his location. Some even start to slide toward him. Blaze ends the power early to avoid any ruckus.
People know about him and talk about him. However, every myth has its inaccuracy. The more people say it, the less it actually is. As for Blaze, all of the available powers from the myth are a degraded and mutated version of his actual powers.
He shoots lightning bolts from his hand and the wand. Now people perceive him riding a cloud that shoots lightning.
He uses the Moonlight Karambit to create a sphere of total darkness. People say that his cloak is made out of black smoke that can act as a concealment.
His ability to collect the soul now turns to him being able to suck the soul using a vortex inside his mouth. They call him a soul-devouring demon.
Blaze doesn’t care for any of this. At best, he finds it very interesting.
Myth Manifestation helps him to do a lot of things without actually using his powers or items. But that isn’t the only ability.
The true usefulness is when he combines it with his actual powers.
Blaze flicks his hand, and all the items from before appear on him.

Blaze can’t help but smirk. This is how you actually use Mythomancy. It is a support school of magic that can greatly enhance your original powers.
But then, something else happens. His Tattered Mask lights up, and the illusions of the Myth Manifestation vibrate.
A third eye pops open in the middle of the forehead on the surface of the Tattered Mask. This eye does not have the same gold color as Blaze’s two eyes. Instead, it is blood red.
The black smoke surrounding Blaze gets pulled inside this third eye.

[Your Tattered Mask has awakened a fourth Hidden Power <Eyes>]
After a little while...
Blaze takes a deep breath and deactivates Myth Manifestation. The power of faith dissipates, and the illusions retreat. The third blood-red eye on Blaze’s forehead also disappears.
"This power is unstable. I better not use it unless it is very necessary."
Blaze is referring to <Eyes>, the newest edition of Power of the Tattered Mask.
Urban Myth is only the third level in all the myths. It is in no way considered to be powerful in the eyes of the magic caster. But with the combination of the items, a chain reaction happened.
Blaze’s items receive an anchor point to source their power and also to merge them together. The sheer amount of strength of this fusion alone is a sight to behold.
There is the second spell left, Reality Overwrite. However, this spell requires too much from Blaze. He has no intention of using it as an experiment. This is one of those powers that has a lot of pushback once you use it.
Comparing the two books, Spellbook of the Death raised Blaze’s overall strength, while Spellbook of Fables created more trump cards for Blaze.
He looks down at his left wrist, where the mark of the Sun God myth resides. Unfortunately, it is now in the dormant state and can’t be activated in any way.
"That’s a pity..."
[Your Beast is hatching...]
Suddenly, a notification pops up. Blaze immediately pulls the egg out of the Beast Storage.
The egg of the Wolf Cub. It ate two Crisis Cores that belonged to Blaze. He almost forgot the existence of this guy.
[Your Beast is hatching...]
The giant egg lies sideways on the ground. Its surface is being smashed by a large wolf foot. Blaze can even clearly outline its paws. It tries its best to penetrate the shell but is pushed back a few times.
Blaze has no intention of helping him. Baby birds need to have enough strength to break out of the egg. If they don’t, it means they are not ready for the real world yet.
Then the wolf pushes its head into the shell. A crack on the surface appears.
"Come on, little boy. You can do it..." Blaze mumbles quietly.
And as if the Wolf hears him, it pushes harder in response.
