Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Pig Head

The man does not stop and lunges at Blaze with his pitchfork. He thrust the pitchfork at him, its sharp tips having some kind of black oil on them, sticky and stinky.

Blaze simply steps backward, aiming the gun at the man’s head. He wants to see if he will back off if life-threatening danger is in his face. The man does not even flinch and keeps ramming the pitchfork forward.

"Remember. You wanted this."

Blaze pulls the trigger. Irony roars a white fire, and its bullet pierces through the skull of the man. He has no resistance at all and just drops down on the ground lifeless.

The other villagers don’t even seem to be afraid by the notion of death. They surround Blaze and try to overwhelm him. Villagers on the outside throw rocks, some use makeshift bows or slingshots. The people closer to Blaze charge forward to attack him with farm tools.

Blaze shakes his head, replacing Irony in his hand with the Moonlight Karambit. It transforms into the Twinblade, and Blaze splits it in two. He once again becomes a little tornado, spinning the two short swords around.

All the projectiles are deflected away.

The closest villager touches the edge of the tornado, his scythe gets crushed into pieces. Others extend the distance in time, escaping the deadly blade of the tornado.

Blaze stops spinning, an opening has been created. He charges forward at the closest villager and slices his body in half. The man is split in two and drops on the ground.

The man has black blood. Even when he is dying, he doesn’t show any regret or fear, only more aggression. He grinds his teeth and looks at Blaze in anger, his veins bulge on his head, and his face changes to red.

"Hmm." This catches Blaze’s attention for a short moment. He doesn’t think they are people, they must be some kind of creature.

They don’t bring any experience points nor have any souls, though.

Blaze walks over to the man and stomps his head to pieces. He is finally silent for good.

From behind, a villager tries to surprise attack him. Blaze turns and swings the Twinblade at the same time, cutting that villager’s neck. His head rolls on the ground, leaving trails of black blood.

"Black blood. Similar to that Wood Revenant. Whatever they are, they all come from the same place."

Blaze comes to a conclusion.

A female villager shoots an arrow at Blaze. He chops the projectile in half right in front of his face and diverts the split arrows into two directions. He then materializes Irony in his left hand and returns fire to the woman. One clean shot right through the skull.

He may not be that good with guns, but his Perception attribute is very high. All thanks to Thunder Ascended God. He can use his pure stats to force through a lot of problems.

There are only around five villagers left, they all charge a Blaze in a manic state and don’t even care if they will die in the meantime.

Five clean shots, and they all die before they can even comprehend anything.

A bloody scene of corpses is now present right in front of the village gate. There will be more villagers inside. Blaze is really considering whether going through the village is a good idea. It is not hard for him to kill them all, but time will be wasted.

Suddenly, a high-pitched noise fills the place. The deceased villagers are slowly lifted into the air. It looks like their cold, dying corpses lose all the weight in them. And their skin flared up a sickly green color.

All the green light stretches up and converges in one singular point in the air.

The flesh of the dead and all their black blood are pulled inside the point, forming a green sphere that expands in the blink of an eye.

A new monster has appeared. Its body is large and fat. Its head must reach at least three meters tall, while its protruded belly takes over two-thirds of the width of the body. In its palm is a butcher knife with a serrated blade. The teeth of the blade have long lost their steel color and now only show a dirty black shade.

"Now it is more like it." Blaze summons the Twinblade again and holds the two short swords in his hands.

The monster doesn’t have a head and only a bloody neck that is leaking black blood nonstop. It pulls itself up from the ground and walks its obese body toward Blaze.

Blaze stands still, trying to see what it is going to do.

First, the headless monster lifts his butcher knife up and slams it in Blaze’s direction. The problem is it is very far away and isn’t even in range to blow a breeze at Blaze after the strike.

But then the knife touches the ground. Green, spectral energy reaches from the point of impact and stretches itself at Blaze.

Blaze doesn’t know what that type of energy is going to do, but he has no intention of letting it touch him. He simply hops to the side, evading the green energy.

The monster growls some inaudible words. It swings its knife horizontally. A fang of green energy shoots out from its strike.

Blaze shoots the Grappling Hook to a tree and easily avoids the wave of energy.

"If that is everything you are capable of, you will die by my hand very soon." Blaze says. His hoarse, demonic voice is even more unsettling than the monster’s noise.

The headless monster growls again. It walks toward the gate and chops it down. The head of the pig falls down, and the monster catches it.

"Wait a minute..."

Blaze squints his eyes, measuring the headless monster’s neck and the pig head.

The pig head on top of the gate is bizarrely large. If that thing was on an actual pig, the animal must be a few times bigger than the actual pig.

The monster put the pig head on its headless neck, everything connected with each other seamlessly. The lifeless pig head spurs to life. Its eyes are blood red and blazing like the siren light of a patrol car.

Blaze jumps down from the tree and uses Irony to shoot at the pig. The bullets pierce into its fat flesh and dig out a few holes.

The monster ignores Blaze’s attack and leans its body forward. Its two front hands touch the ground.

"Huh?"

"Oink! Oink!" The pig makes some noise and then squeals like someone is butchering it. It uses its four legs to charge at Blaze.

For a monster of that size, its speed is admirable. It drags on the ground like a tractor and gets within three feet of Blaze in under a second. The monster still holds the butcher knife in its right hand.

It raises its right hand and smacks the large knife down at Blaze, aiming to crush his skull and then run over him with its body.

Blaze doesn’t even flinch, and he has not a single bead of sweat on his face. He turns halfway and swings a short sword at the knife, catching it and then deflecting it behind his back.

Blaze’s left foot kicks at the pig’s left front leg. By using his short sword as leverage and exploiting the imbalance of the monster that he created, Blaze throws the monster over his shoulder, sending it flying to the field.

Its large body plows through the wheat field and destroys a large part of the golden crop.

While the fatty tries to get up, Blaze walks over with a sword on his shoulder. Instinctively, he activates Lightning Ascension.

Immediately, everything in Blaze’s vision changes. Gone were the vast fields of golden wheat. Gone were the houses afar. Gone also was the entrance to the village.

Instead, where Blaze is right now is a cemetery with countless graves. Around him, there are several graves that were dug up. The number of those graves, for some reason, is exactly equal to the number of villagers he killed.

"How careless of me."

Blaze looks around carefully and takes in the scene. He has learned a lesson. Never believe everything you see in the Dream Layer.

On the opposite side, the pig monster is in a field of unburied corpses. Some of them died not long ago, and the body isn’t even decomposed yet.

The monster looks exactly the same. It is only glowing a bit more than before.

Blaze attaches the two swords into the Twinblade.

"My time is wasted too much already. Let’s end this."

Blaze dashes forward, he becomes a blur in the air. His speed isn’t comparable to when he activated Lightning Ascension but is now much faster than before. It is acceptable to use his based physical attributes for combat instead of using Ascension all the time.

The pig screeches loudly. It swings its entire body and focuses the power of its right hand to smack the knife at Blaze.
