I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 97: Police Headquarters

Dominic gets in his police uniform once again. The Police Force has retrieved his weapons, and the only thing he has left is the commonly issued police vest. He still has his personal gun left, though.

He kisses Asani goodbye.

"Duty calls, my lady."

Asani smiles brightly.

"Don’t die this time, okay?"

Dominic laughs.

"I don’t think I can even if I want to."

June is also here. They shared a quick conversation after the incident.

"Go home, Miss Richmond. Don’t get yourself caught in trouble again."

"I will, sir!"

Dominic then drives away to the warehouse. The Wraith has told him that his partner is in danger. He cannot stand aside and just watch.

Asani turns toward June.

"So my husband saved you, huh?"

June scratches her head.

Dominic arrives at the warehouse. Before he even gets out of the car, a large explosion ignites inside the building, turning everything into rubble.

The explosion is so devastating that even his windshield gets blown away, detached from the car.

Dominic leans out of the car window in time to see Anderson get sent flying to the street.

He wears high-tech armor. One glimpse, and Dominic already knows who it’s coming from.

"Are we working for the government, or are we working for Vox?"

Dominic gets out of the car, holding his personal gun in his hand.

A lightning bolt zips out of the explosion and lands on Anderson.

The Wraith that Dominic just met not long ago. He wastes no time to kill Anderson and pierces his chest with a spear made out of lightning.

Anderson’s body gets split into several parts, leaving the Wraith gasping for air in place.

It seems to be a hard battle.

Dominic walks up.

"Damn! You killed our Sergeant!"

Blaze turns right back and aims the Destruction Wand at him. Dominic raises his hands up instantly.

"Relax! It’s me!"

Blaze calms down when he sees it is Dominic.

"Why are you here?"

"Well, you said that Sebastian is in danger. I can’t just ignore it."

Blaze nods, lowering his wand.

"Let’s go inside and check up on him."

The Lantern of the Damned appears in Blaze’s hand, and Anderson’s soul gets sucked inside its fire.

This is the second time Dominic sees the Lantern. He can still feel the overwhelming force that item has.

After that, Blaze collects Anderson’s gun, his arm brace, and also the broken chest piece.

The Calamity Core is split in two, still attaching onto the armor. It has lost its light and looks like a normal diamond at the moment.

Blaze throws them all inside the Diametric Cube.

He and Dominic walk inside the rubble that was once the warehouse.

On their way, they can see a large amount of boxes and containers lying around. Inside are all sorts of high-tech weapons and armor.

"Why does Gulliver need this many weapons? This must be enough to arm an entire army."

Dominic says.

Inside the warehouse, the ceiling came crashing down and fell onto Hutton and Sebastian.

Hutton lost his consciousness and returned to two people.

Sebastian tries to get up after the explosion, pushing the two winged humans away from him.

The warehouse is filled with a large fire and debris from the explosion.

Sebastian drags Antton and Hugo outside, to an empty plot.

"Hey, are you alright?"

Sebastian gently slaps Anton’s cheek, trying to wake him up. However, Anton is completely out.

Hugo, on the other hand, regains his consciousness slowly.

"Oh my god! My head hurts."

Hugo slowly gets up.

"Are you alright? Your friend doesn’t seem too good."

Sebastian says.

"I’m alright. Let me check up on him..."

Hugo comes over to take a look at Anton. He is injured badly with a lot of burn marks left behind because of the Calamity Core.

But his vitals are good. Hugo’s pulse is still on, and his breathing is stable.

"Yeah. Nothing to worry about. Light injury only."

It’s actually much more serious than that. But these injuries can easily be healed by the Blood Potion, an item that Hugo knows Blaze has, so he has no worries at all.

Sebastian blinks his eyes and looks at Anton. His ribcage is caved in, his knuckles are a mess, and he has many open wounds on his body. But this guy doesn’t seem to think it is serious.

"Right..."

Dominic and Blaze arrive at the scene.

"Howdy, partner."

Dominic speaks first.

"Hey, Dominic."

Sebastian greets him casually. He is still in shock from everything, so he is slow in comprehending the bizarre aspect that is presenting itself.

But then Sebastian jerks his head toward Dominic, looking him up and down several times.

"What is this? Shapeshifter?"

"No, man. It’s me, your partner!"

Dominic pounds his chest a few times.

Sebastian doesn’t know how to react. This type of behavior and speaking cannot be mistaken. It is exactly like his deceased partner, Dominic Renly.

He gets up slowly and approaches Dominic.

"How?"

Dominic says nothing and points at Blaze.

"Him?"

Sebastian’s expression darkens immediately.

"What’s the cost?"

"How do you know?"

Dominic is visibly surprised.

"Nothing in life is free, man."

"Haha! You are always wise, my man. There is a cost, but this cost is not as serious as you think."

While Dominic and Sebastian are catching up, Blaze approaches Hugo and Anton.

He checks Anton’s vitals in a similar way to Hugo.

"He’s fine. A gulp of blood and he should be good."

Hugo says. He doesn’t know what that bottle is called, so he gave it a name that is easy to remember.

Blaze nods. He buys a Blood Potion immediately and gives it to Hugo.

"Give him a third of the bottle. It should be enough. You should take the second third as well. Keep the rest for emergencies."

"Understood, my great overlord!"

Blaze shakes his head. They just encountered a big fight, and Hugo already has the mood for a joke.

He then turns toward the pair of good cops. They also look at him.

The situation is a little awkward. They just decimated a whole platoon of dirty cops together.

"I’ll intend to attack the Police Headquarter tonight. What do the two of you want to do?"

Sebastian and Dominic look at each other. The Wraith is obviously inviting them to join him.

"Before we do that, are you sure we will be able to take them all?"

Sebastian says. "We barely beat Anderson. God knows what kind of weapon Gulliver has hiding in his sleeves."

"Also, the police are obviously gathering weapons for a war as well. It may be because of you, Wraith. Attacking right now may not be the right choice."

Dominic gestures toward the bunch of weapons outside.

Sebastian shakes his head.

"No, not for the Wraith. He is one of the reasons, but Gulliver is collecting weapons to prepare for the other gangs as well.

The Roof is one of the major forces in Akansa black society. They worked with Gulliver closely.

The other gangs will want to fill the hole the Roof leaves behind. They may not be that cooperative, like the Roof."

"Hmm."

Dominic rubs his jaw, falling into deep thoughts.

"Then what should we do?"

"We kill them all." Blaze finally speaks up. "This city has been terrorized by Gulliver and the gangs for far too long."

Dominic and Sebastian both inhale deeply. They can feel the bloodlust this being has.

"My power is not combat-focused. I can’t help you attack the station. But there are quite a few good cops inside the Police Force. I’ll give them a call to evacuate them from the building.

Then, you will have less trouble attacking it."

Dominic says.

"And for me, my gun and I will be by your side. You are right. These rotten fucks have been doing what they want for far too long."

Sebastian loads his gun, anger fills his face to the core.

Blaze lets out a low, haunting laugh.

"Good. Good. With cops like you, the people of Akansa will finally have their justice."

Blaze turns back, his cloak flaps in the wind. Their next destination, the Akansa City Police Department Headquarter.
