I Picked the Useless Class… Turns Out It's the Most Broken in the Game-Chapter 79: Reunion.
The wall slipped open, and a pathway which was made of white coloured marble appeared in front of them.
It was wide, and the lights were placed on the bottom corners to provide light.
The pathway was leading to the front, and there seemed to be no other way in.
Leon’s eyes scanned the path for a while, and then switched to Valleria. "Lead the way." He said.
Valleria gave a nod and turned towards the pathway.
She started walking, her steps were steady.
Leon didn’t wait there any longer, he started following behind her.
Draviel walked right beside Leon, his arms crossed.
They all travelled for a while and then reached a point where no route remained in front.
It was just a wall, which looked plain.
"What’s the meaning of this?" Leon asked, gaze remained fixed at the front.
Valleria didn’t say anything and continued walking forward without slowing down.
She passed straight through the wall in front of her.
"This isn’t a real wall, it’s just an illusion meant to fool people."
Leon’s expressions didn’t change, his stoic demeanour remained.
They continued walking until a door appeared in front of them.
Valleria grabbed the handle and slid it open.
The path led straight into the chamber where the others were waiting.
Sylphaine flew through the door first, entering the chamber as she shouted. "YAY!! YAY!!"
Darian and the others were waiting after defeating the undead.
Their heads turned towards the direction from which the voice just came.
Darian muttered. "Miss Fairy."
And then his gaze shifted towards Leon, who had just entered the chamber; his clothes were filled with dirt.
Ripped apart in some places, signs which showed that he had fought a battle were clearly visible.
Darian moved instantly, leaving just his afterimage behind.
He appeared before them, tears welling in his eyes. "Master... I’m sorry. I couldn’t follow you into that pit."
His voice trembled as he lowered his head. "I kept thinking... if I had been there, even a little, maybe I could’ve protected you."
’Wait... that’s completely similar to the behaviour of a golden retriever.’
Leon gulped, shifted his gaze away for a second. ’If I don’t reply to him, he’ll get sad that his master did that to him.’
’I don’t have any other choice but to play along.’
His gaze returned to Darian, as a warm smile tugged at his lips. "It’s fine, Darian."
"I can see the dead bodies of the undead right there, you did well."
’Wait, what!? Undead? What the hell!?’
Leon fell into a state of confusion, but took a few deep breaths to calm himself.
"How did they appear here?" He asked.
Before Darian could reply, Synthia stepped forward. "They came right after you fell into that pit, newbie Ragnar."
"A person was guiding them, and..." She looked at Darian, gulped lightly, but then continued. "This ghost knight of yours took that guy down, and I did the rest of the work."
"Thank you for your hard work, senior," Leon said, waving his hand towards her.
Her lips curled into a cheerful smile, ran towards Leon as she grabbed his arm. "I know, right? I’m so awesome, and that idiot little Cain didn’t do anything." She said cheerfully.
’How can she expect a tactician to do something?’
A loud voice filled the chamber. Someone came running at them at a high pace. "Ragnarrrr!!!" Cain said, shouting on top of his lungs.
Leon’s gaze turned towards him as he noticed that Cain’s eyes were filled with tears, and some of them were rolling down his cheeks.
He chuckled lightly and said. "You look like you suffered the most in here." His tone was playful.
"Synthia told me to help her fight the undead... how can I, the great future tactician, fight the undead?" He said, sobbing.
A thought curled inside Leon’s mind.
’That tone... that’s so cringe, as expected of a teenager.’
He sighed lightly, and said. "It’s been almost a day since we got stuck in here.
Let’s get out of here and make our way to Dark Mage Tower."
Synthia gave a nod, and tears started to fill her eyes slightly. "Yes... I miss big sister Valexeria and Sia." She said, sadness was clearly audible in her tone.
"Yes, senior." He took a small pause as he looked at her, and continued. "We’ll not waste any more time in here and go back as soon as possible."
"I’ll assume that you already know the way out from here," Leon said, looking at Valleria through the side of his eye.
"Lead the way." He continued.
Valleria shook her head lightly, closed her eyes. "There’s no need for us to use that way," she took a small pause.
Lifted her hand as she pulled the robe which she was wearing, took it off.
Her skin looked beautiful, her purple hair gleaming lightly as her eyes carried the same colour. Her features looked the same as Valexeria’s.
She extended her hand forward, and a small piece of paper appeared inside her palm. "My sister gave this to me. We can use this to teleport directly towards the Dark Mage Tower."
’System scan.’ Leon thought.
