Chapter 121: Chapter121-Another Divine Descent

Inside the church, the ground shook violently as if the earth itself were about to split open.

Beneath the cathedral, the ground began to bulge and crack, layer upon layer rising like scales torn from the earth, forming a volcanic mound.

From within that mound, a massive, clawed limb covered in thick black scales burst forth, reaching directly toward Thomas and Owen!

Dark mist coiled around the monstrous claw, its movement stirring the air like a tempest. Even the divine golden light radiating from Owen was dimmed and repelled by its approach.

Sssshhhk!

As the scaled, grotesque claw loomed larger in Owen’s vision, he narrowed his eyes and—rather than fear—his face showed a trace of delight.

"A Tier-6 Aberration... now this is interesting."

"If I destroy it, I can purify it and obtain quite a few Level-1 Order Fragments. Compared to standard fragments, Level-1s are much rarer and more valuable."

Owen was very pleased. To him, that claw looked less like a threat and more like a fine meal being served on a golden plate.

With a thought, flames surged in front of him like a flowing stream, weaving and swirling until they coalesced into a giant flaming hand that clashed directly with the approaching monstrous claw.

BOOM!

Two massive hands, each carrying a distinct Order resonance, collided within the cathedral and exploded with violent force. The black claw emitted a fog of Aberration energy—miasma capable of corrupting the heart, turning even the faintest inner darkness into an uncontrollable monster.

But at that moment, an endless sea of fire erupted, the flickering flames illuminating the church in a blinding red light.

Not only was the miasma burned away completely, but the inferno surged downward, rushing toward the crater beneath the ground!

Aaaaargh!!

A hideous scream echoed up from below, like someone scalded by boiling water—shrill and tortured.

Owen’s brow furrowed slightly just as the clanking of chains echoed from underground. A moment later, a beast like a ten-meter-tall tiger burst from the depths, hurling debris and dust as it emerged into the sanctuary.

The spellbeast’s massive body made the once-grand cathedral feel narrow and insignificant in comparison.

It resembled a monstrous tiger, but its limbs and neck were bound with thick, rusted chains.

What was even more disturbing was its grotesque, stitched-together body—its limbs appeared to be sewn from the claws of black dragons, the hind legs of leopards, the torsos of various spellbeasts, and an enormous human head.

That head now twisted with rage, veins bulging until the skin tore open, revealing raw pink flesh beneath.

"This Aberration... it looks like some kind of patched-up prototype,"

Owen muttered, frowning.

A normal Aberration would not be this chaotic and disordered. True Aberrations followed strict, twisted rules.

But this one? It looked like a failed experiment—something locked away and repurposed.

Who had the audacity to modify an Aberration?

Someone strong. Someone ambitious.

Could it be they had sensed the divine Order within the Aberration... and sought to steal it?

A dangerous thought.

Owen’s flames surged hotter at the very idea. One after another, blazing fireballs streaked through the air like meteors, bombarding the stitched Aberration relentlessly.

Whoever dared tamper with such power—today, they would pay. And Owen would claim the spoils in the form of precious Level-1 Order Fragments.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Fireballs struck the twisted Aberration again and again. Its body shook violently, emitting anguished wails as the force of the flames wore it down. Its form began to distort, parts of its body turning into mist.

But just then, the chains wrapped around the Aberration began to glow with a dazzling crimson light, digging deeper into its flesh.

The Aberration’s agonized expression suddenly twisted. Infused with overwhelming energy from the chains, its pain vanished like a mirage.

No more confusion. No more fear. Only pure, savage bloodlust.

Like a living mountain, the creature roared and lunged straight at Owen.

"Judging by the chain’s power, it must’ve been forged by a Tier-7 awakener. If anyone else had encountered this thing, they’d be dead already.

"But... unfortunately for you, the one you encountered was me."

Owen shook his head lightly.

Whoever had secretly modified this Aberration had been cautious—leaving safeguards and layers of defense. But Owen was a god now.

A two-star god—and one of the most elite among them.

Even if he was only present through Divine Descent by Thomas, not in his true form, his power was still overwhelming enough to crush this creature.

"If you’ve been tortured into an Aberration, let me be the one to grant you release."

Owen’s golden face grew solemn. Waves of fire surged forward like a flood, accompanied by roaring winds that made the inferno even more terrifying.

The flames swallowed the Aberration in an instant.

Under the power of a god skill, Owen’s divine aura became an unstoppable tide. The Aberration had no chance. Its body curled in pain, the moisture inside evaporating rapidly.

In mere moments, it was reduced to a scorched husk.

The chains that had bound and empowered it were melted down into glowing molten iron, dripping lifelessly to the ground.

Then Owen turned his gaze to the blood-soaked, death-filled cathedral.

With a casual wave of his hand, waves of divine fire erupted, engulfing the entire structure in searing light.

From a distance, the burning church resembled a second sun—casting a molten glow across the surrounding mountain ranges.

Not long after, the church collapsed with a thunderous crash, reduced to ashes and dust.

Before Owen now lay two items:

One, shrouded in black mist—an Aberration Order.

The other, radiating endless malice—a rune.

This rune had been embedded in the Aberration’s forehead, and it was likely the source of its manipulation and madness.

Owen gave them a glance, then calmly stored them in his personal space.

Meanwhile, Thomas floated gently back to the ground, staring in awe at the ruined remains of the cathedral.

This had once been a magnificent place, its walls forged from reinforced marble.

Yet under the flames of Deus Initium, every trace of its existence had been burned away.

It was as if the cathedral had never existed at all.

"So this is Deus Initium... a true god... one whose divine power is truly unfathomable!"

Thomas’s heart surged with awe, reverence—and an even deeper fanaticism.

With such a powerful god behind him, what did he have to fear?

Without hesitation, he turned and sped off toward the next known Aberration site.

There were more waiting to be purged.
