I Refused To Be Reincarnated-Chapter 712: A Moment of Bliss, A Region in Turmoil
Chapter 712: A Moment of Bliss, A Region in Turmoil
Breath ragged, voice cracking, she loosened her dress, whispering into his ear. "We’ve taken many children in. Should we... make our own?"
The words travelled into Adam’s ears, overpowering the drumming of his heart. His mind blurred—desire, love, and longing for his own family painted bright pictures. A little princess running across the palace, leaping onto his shoulders with soft giggles. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
And then, the image solidified before him. Misha’s perfect charms, her slightly pulled dress that showed just enough for his blood to sear his muscles, but not enough to turn him into a wolf ready to pounce.
’Get a grip on yourself, fool!’
Fending off the passion, he focused on the consequences. Could he build a family in the middle of a foreign realm, where enemies, each more powerful than the last, surrounded him? Would he have time to raise it?
Even though he had been quite foolish and a little mad when he raised Julius, he had cared for the boy every day, hour, and minute. He taught him the basics of mathematics, reading, writing, and trained his body and mind.
There was no way he’d give his own child less attention. On the contrary, there was nothing he wouldn’t give to ensure its happiness.
He took a deep breath, the scalding passion waning with his slowing heartbeats. Yet, his lips twisted, and his eyes locked on Misha’s exposed skin even as he talked in a serious voice. "Not before we stabilise our situation."
Misha lowered her burning face, her fingers trembling on her dress. A hollow laugh left her lips. "Right? It was a... a joke—yes. Sorry..."
But inside, her mind raged like a typhoon. ’It’s not about the child! With the quantity of pheromones I’m producing, beasts would rush hundreds of kilometers to find me—even the blind ones!’
Her eyes narrowed as Adam walked past her with a nod so low that his head almost touched her chest. They both wanted to do it... So why was it so hard?
She clenched her jaw, her hand gripping his forearm. "To hell with it!"
"What?" Adam’s eyes widened, but before he could comprehend what she meant, a dress of soft silk fluttered down immaculate skin.
His eyes uncontrollably trailed to her slender neck, the desire to bite it overwhelming him, as if he had become a vampire. But the truly forbidden treasures... lay below.
He gulped, thoughts frozen, unable to tear his eyes away.
"What are you waiting for?" A predatory grin spread across her lips as her forceful touch made him shiver. Without wasting a second, she undid his belt, threw off his robes, and pushed him onto the bed.
Landing on the soft sheets, he felt the last few shreds of reason shatter in his mind. He grabbed her back, the smoothness in his hand feeling otherworldly. Yet, he still asked. "Are you sure? We’re still young."
"Are we? We’re both past our thirties." She leaned closer, whispering in his ear. "Focus on the present."
Her tongue caressed his earlobe, sending a shiver down his spine. His muscles tensed as if enchanted fire danced across every fiber of his body. Heat seared his thoughts, and desire guided his hands as he surrendered to the promise of a pleasure he had only imagined, never known. And he knew Misha felt the same.
Between the sects’ attack to steal what was theirs, the subsequent race to prevent it, and their awkwardness, they had suppressed their desires for years. Now, however, the time to unleash them without being burdened had come.

Yet, even as Adam and Misha gave their love physical form for the first time, drowning in bliss and discoveries, the heavy atmosphere of their recent conflict continued to press upon the world. Thousands of kilometers to the east, a group of twenty individuals found themselves shrouded in its oppressive weight.
Their intricate robes fluttered in gold, purple, red, and silver, each strand glistening with refined qi. Behind them, guardian beasts fidgeted unsteadily on their powerful legs. Even the proud golden dragon and the fiery phoenix gazed at their own feet without moving.
The men and women were not much different. Their neck veins pulsed as they strained their muscles to keep their heads straight. Deep wrinkles snaked on their distinguished feature, turning them into grimaces. Most used their prized weapons as canes to hide their fluttering robes—their fears, their reluctance to be here.
But they had to. Willingness had no weight now, not after twenty righteous sects suffered the most humiliating defeat in the central region’s history. Just recalling how Adam left with the stolen blessed land caused Tianlong’s jaw to clench hard enough for his neck to bulge with corded veins like twisted threads.
In a few short days, the unrest gripped them by the throat. The resources invested in equipment already weighed on their sects. Trades slowed to a crawl, prices spiked, and disciples’ hushed complaints hung in the air. Soon, they would erupt into accusations of mismanagement. The core disciples would leave, and some elders too, which would make it impossible to defend their resource nodes.
Worse, with their reputations shaken, rivals had already begun to creep into the shadows. He knew they were just waiting for the moment when the Jin Long sect was at its lowest to devour what remained of them.
He clenched his fists, his nail piercing the skin. Blood dripped along his white knuckles, drops pattering to the ground. Never! They could still turn the situation around!
Eyes alight with fierce determination, he scrutinised the closed obsidian doors towering before him. Like mountains, their tops vanished into the clouds. A murky barrier reached around them, veiling what was inside from undeserving eyes.
Even the spiritual ascension realm sect leaders were no exception. Instead, he knew they were as powerless as toddlers in front of the man they sought help from: the Dao ancestor of the central region, one of the only three individuals who defied fate, rules, and order to become a cultivator who had reached the Dao Integration Realm.
All he had to do to recover was to appeal to him with the blessed land’s historic sites, ecosystems, and lost techniques. After all, a Dao ancestor wouldn’t desire the resources Xie Lian reported. At most, he would cultivate them on his own, leaving the bulk of the wealth for himself and the nineteen others.
As if reading his mind, a deafening rattle shook the ground. Surprised, he stomped down, securing his footing—just in time to face the blinding light pouring through the doorway.
The ancestor was coming out.
