I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 5:Prince
Atheline followed the palace servant since he was familiar with this routine. They passed through different flowers as they followed the pavement until they came to a stop in front of another building.
The annex.
This was the private place of the first prince. Atheline nodded to the servant who directed him and walked through the open glass door with a smile on his face.
He walked down the familiar hallway filled with different paintings and artifacts that would be valuable to the outside world but pretty useless to the prince.
"Atheline... on time as always, " the prince said the moment he stepped into the sitting area.
"No as fast as you it seems your highness," he said to the man standing on the balcony looking down at him.
Solaris Velcro, the first prince and the next heir to the throne, the man had long blond hair, green eyes, and a face that screamed am blessed and obey me.
Atheline didn’t bow down as per tradition, they had been playmates since they were little and could be considered best friends at least.
"Why did you call?" He asked after settling down on one of the seats in the room.
Solaris didn’t come down from the balcony but continued looking down at him.
Atheline sighed inside.
’This narcissist’
"Let’s go."
Atheline watched as he came downstairs and stood up to follow him. They walked down a very familiar but darker hallway until they came to a stop in front of a wall.
Solaris pushed a small hidden mechanism on the wall and the whole wall parted revealing a flight of stairs spiralling downwards.
Atheline was the first to step in while the prince followed behind him. They had done this enough times to create a routine.
"How is the princess?" Atheline asked.
Just like him, Solaris had an older sister who was fifty years older than him.
Unlike him who seemed to have been unplanned Solaris had been planned since they needed an heir to the throne and his sister wasn’t interested in becoming a ’Slave’ to the elves.
"Being her usual self, she tried to run away with some human, can you believe that," Solaris chuckled," called it the power of love or something."
Atheline also chuckled. This just made it even more apparent he was in a rom-com. Everyone around him was preaching love.
"What about the human?" Atheline asked.
"Father killed him."
Atheline shook his head. He wasn’t the first man she had tried to run away with and he won’t be the last.
He had killed a few of them himself. She had practically franchised with every species she could come across.
’Just find her a husband and stop killing those stupid guys’
Atheline really thanked God that he didn’t have a sister to take care of. Since he was the baby of the family he got most of the attention which he very much liked.
They walked down two winding stairs and entered a dark hallway.
’The dungeon ’
This was where most of the prince prisoners were kept and tortured.
Atheline already knew where they were going.
"Let me out you bastards!!!" Shouts reverberated through the dungeon as they walked down the cells but none of them cared.
Atheline had been used to this scene for as long as he could remember. He had started to come to the dungeon when he was ten together with the prince for their endurance and torture training.
They came to a stop in front of a more secluded door. Atheline opened the door and walked inside followed by the prince.
"I won’t run away again please, just let me go..hic.." the man inside the cell cried the moment they opened the door.
Atheline felt like screaming at fate. Why had he gotten his memories so late? It would have been better if he never gotten it.
In front of him was the future husband of the, Dark elf queen, Elydrah dusk.
’Ooh well the water has already been spilled’
"How many times have you tried to run away Elydrah, you know this marriage is very important to the elves," Atheline said throwing away any worry about the novel.
Since he wasn’t named, he probably got out scot free. He knelt in front of the crying man and studied him.
’Coward’
The man was good-looking, with blue flowing hair and brown eyes, but he was useless when it came to power. He was the middle child of the Northern Aetherion lord and not the most favored.
A weak man both magically and physically. A perfect pawn. He had been chosen as the scapegoat by the king after much deliberation.
"But.... I don’t want to... she’s a monster.." he stammered while trying to move back but his broken left ankle prevented him from doing so.
Atheline chuckled.
"This is for the good of the elves... you are a noble you should know that....sacrifices must be made for the overall good," Atheline said emotionlessly.
He really didn’t feel much pity for the man. The benefits from this alliance were enormous and it had taken a lot of work from both the king and his father to get the best out of it.
"But..."
"You know it’s your fault for being weak right?...if you were strong they would have just picked another," Atheline said.
Elydrah’s eyes widened then tears started to flow.
"You should fix his leg, he needs to start his preparation, " Solaris said cutting through the man’s sob.
Atheline nodded. He had been the one sent to track him down and bring him back.
Atheline had broken his ankle when the man kept on screaming and trying to run away with every rest.
It had been his luck that they had noticed his escape earlier and he hadn’t left the kingdom so it was much easier to catch him and bring him back.
That was what he was good at.
"You’re nothing but a dog," Elydrah muttered under his breath.
’How amusing, last struggled ’
Atheline chuckled but didn’t respond. He was right, that was what their family was known for. He had been raised to serve the future king.
He didn’t see any problem in that, the benefits were enormous. He had learn everything about being a king besides the prince something no other noble would ever be able to.
"You just found that out," he said sarcastically and took out a potion from his storage ring.
He held Elydrah’s jaw and forced his mouth open despite his futile struggles. He poured the green potion into his mouth and forced him to drink without caring if he was choking or not.
Atheline himself didn’t notice the small smile that had been on his face the whole time.
