Chapter 500 - 500! The Strongest Hero vs The Strongest Human, Devastating The Earth, The Sky, The Space and The Moon. The Viltrumite Pride and End of an Era.
A while ago, a news channel decided to carry out an investigation on Allen Walker, asking what ordinary people thought of him. Was he feared, admired, or despised? Or perhaps something completely unexpected.
This report/documentary/research was handled by a rookie reporter. It wasn't that everyone was scared to do something that might upset him, and a SWAT team to show up the next day to audit them.
The girl sighed. Her cameraman was also a rookie.
"We're gonna die..." said the cameraman with a dry look while driving.
"Yeah..." the girl replied. Both of them had to endure the classic intimidation of rookies, doing jobs no one wanted and dealing with scoldings from others. The young reporter clenched her fist and strengthened her resolve, "Anyway, I'm already dead. I've been unable to appear on screen for two years and have only been writing blogs. I have to do something, even if it's risky."
The cameraman was nervous, but he couldn't refuse. He had angered the boss, and this opportunity was the only thing that would stop him from getting fired. With his boss's influence, he might never work as a cameraman again. They both gritted their teeth and went straight into the lion's den.
Allen's apartment wasn't hard to find. It was a striking building in a nice part of the city. In a world where superheroes try to hide their secret identities, Allen Walker even tells people where he lives... doesn't he fear anything?
...
The reporter asked the guard if they could ask a few questions. The man was surprised when he heard who they wanted to ask about and looked at them with pity.
"Yeah, once a villain tried to cause trouble here. That guy disappeared for a week, then showed up hanging from the San Francisco bridge, naked and trembling as if he'd been through hell..." The guard scratched his head. "Since that day, this area became the safest in Chicago. You could drop a wallet on the street, and there it would be the next day..."
The young reporter was taken aback by the casual way the guard spoke about Allen Walker. She thought he'd be afraid of him.
...
The reporter tried her luck with the intercom to see if any of Allen's neighbors would be willing to talk. Unexpectedly, there were three.
The first was an older woman who liked to wear a lot of jewelry.
"Hehe~ yes, darling, young Allen is a scary guy when he wants to be, but for the most part, he's polite."
"Really? We thought he'd get angry easily..."
"Well, it's normal, you only see him when he's working. In general, he's a more relaxed person, maybe even lazy. It's common to see him going out with one of his beautiful maids."
"Huh? I didn't know that."
The woman smiled mysteriously, "Of course, he doesn't show them off. It's a shame... hehe, if I were fifty years younger, I wouldn't mind if he put a collar on me and called me his mistress~"
"..."
The second neighbor was a businessman who lived on the same floor.
"Allen Walker is an asshole. He audited me just because Fluffy peed on the backseat of his Jeep!"
This man seemed genuinely upset with Allen, but it was normal; his reputation for being a son of a b*tch was well-known.
"He's a womanizer, he has like ten girls coming in and out of his apartment. Damn, how did he get so lucky? I'd understand if they were beautiful girls, but beauties like that, I've never seen in my life, as if they were artificially made!" Once he finished insulting Allen, the man seemed to regain his senses and became more fearful. "The most important thing is, that guy has a terrible temper. I don't recommend making him angry."
"Thank you very much..." The reporter smiled sarcastically. The man just wanted to talk badly about Allen.
"Uh... would you mind censoring my face?"
"Of course not, it's your right."
The man sighed in relief and returned to his cold businessman demeanor.
"If you'll excuse me, I have a flight to Los Angeles at noon..."
The third neighbor of Allen was a family of three. The woman and the man had a good impression of Allen.
"Putting aside everything that's said about him, he saved us."
During the Flaxian invasion, many people died. It was common for something like that to happen. Of course, it was still a tragedy, but it was treated more like a natural disaster, and people were more resilient in accepting it.
Still, death was death...
"It was incredible. While we were escaping... he walked toward them..." said the mother.
"I was scared, but when I saw him, I stopped thinking..." said the son.
The father grasped a cup between his fingers as he remembered, "It's strange... he doesn't give off the feeling of someone heroic, like a superhero, but... but when he shows up, no one dies... it's as if nothing happens without him allowing it... it was like the director of the play interrupting the cast... I don't know him, and I haven't spoken to him to judge his personality, but I'm grateful to him for saving us."
...
The reporter and her cameraman left the building, feeling a strange sensation as they realized they really didn't know anything about him. She gripped her microphone and decided to work harder to complete the puzzle that was Allen Walker. However, things weren't simple.
"He's an asshole... I saw him blackmail a vendor by threatening to reveal his infidelities unless he gave him free hot dogs."
"He's a womanizer, he's been involved with more than one superheroine, and it's said he has several hidden lovers."
"He's so handsome, just look at him, I don't care if he has more women~"
"He's an antihero; I mean, he saves people but charges for it; isn't that the definition of an antihero, or maybe he's a mercenary?"
"He's eccentric, or should I say crazy? I saw him dressed as a firefighter, paramedic, health inspector, and Supreme Court judge!"
"He's dangerous, he won't tolerate the slightest insult, and if you insult him, he'll give you a punishment a thousand times worse!"
"He's a hypocrite, he says he's the law and justice, but did you know that the fines he charges come with an 'exorbitant voluntary tip'?! That's crazy!"
"He's amazing, I've never felt someone with such overwhelming power, whether hero or villain."
"He's terrifying, just seeing him walk past you makes you feel insignificant... what fear."
"The older brother is very kind, he gave me candy and saved me from bad guys!"
"The guy is a jerk. He saved me, but he punched me... yeah, I almost caused a big crash into a bus, but it hurt!"
"I didn't do anything, and he hit me! ... Well, maybe I stared too much at his cute maid, but is it my fault? Who walks around with a maid on the street? Does that make sense?!"
"I don't know, sometimes he saves people..."
"I don't know, sometimes he kills criminals and villains."
"Egoist..."
"Womanizer."
"Kind..."
"A bad person..."
"A good person... deep down."
"Shameless..."
"Perverted."
"A cultured man."
"Elegant."
"A monster."
"Vulgar..."
"And a hopeless type..."
"The world would be better without him."
"I don't know what would have happened if he hadn't been there..."
No matter who they asked, no matter how many they asked, it was impossible to have a clear image of Allen, but one thing was certain: he was someone impossible to ignore. Whether in a good way or a bad way, his existence was already a part of this world...
The Report came out with the title "What's behind the most powerful human being?".
After a couple of days, it went absurdly viral, making the mysterious figure that was Allen even more mysterious and confusing, but it also made him closer to this world. Once just a stranger who appeared out of nowhere, someone with no obligations to these people, strangely, it led to a situation where this stranger was the only one standing against the greatest traitor in history...
...
Omni-Man used the momentum he had gained to multiply his own strength many times over, with just one punch causing massive devastation.
The shockwave was so powerful that it should have ravaged Chicago, known as the third-largest city in the country. No, even the entire state of Illinois wouldn't have been spared from the repercussions, but a barrier rose to block the destruction.
Omni-Man stared in amazement at Allen, who had taken the punch to the face. But instead of his head exploding, there were no injuries at all.
"...!"
"That was a good hit," Allen repeated the words that Battle Beast once told him. But it wasn't just that, in his other hand appeared Battle Beast's golden mace, which he used to strike Omni-Man in the head. The impact resonated fifteen miles away.
"Walker!"
Omni-Man recovered and attacked Allen with his fists. Allen blocked the first punch, but the second one struck him in the face. The Viltrumites were expert combatants, raised as warriors with vast battle experience, so it wasn't surprising that Omni-Man could quickly adapt to Allen's fighting style.
"Looks like I got you human!"
"You look tense, did beating your son make you like this?"
"Argh!"
Allen kicked Omni-Man, sending him flying and destroying several mountains with his body. Allen caught up and struck him with the golden mace on the shoulder, the sound of a fracture echoed.
With bloodied teeth and a furrowed brow, Omni-Man grabbed the golden mace, trying to destroy it, but Allen stored it back in his inventory. It was a memento from Thokk; he wasn't going to allow that.
"Stay away from me!"
"You treat this world with too much contempt despite having lived in it..."
"Shut up!"
"You are very hypocritical Nolan..."
Omni-Man seized the opportunity to strike Allen's chest. Once he created distance, he propelled himself around the Earth to multiply his strength.
...
Cecil clenched his fists, no longer surprised that his plans had failed. Omni-Man was much stronger than he had anticipated.
The new Guardians were also concerned, especially Kate and Amanda, who had snuck out to watch the fight with the other Allen's viewers.
Eve was also watching from Allen's apartment.
Gwen – MJ, you researched this world, should Omni-Man be this strong?
MJ – It's hard to say. Characters are often inconsistent because of plot needs. One moment, they can be punching through planets; the next, a guy with super strength can give them trouble...
Diana – So...
MJ – Maybe he's stronger than the original, but that's how it always is...
Yoruichi – From what I understand, Allen, whenever he travels somewhere, tends to find enemies who are much stronger than they should be, right?
Nikky – Well, it's possible they aren't stronger, they just aren't limited anymore. You know, Allen has The Absolute, so there's no script stopping villains from killing the hero, forcing them to make stupid decisions, or holding back from finishing someone off...
Amanda – Hey, what are you saying? This isn't the time for something like that, Allen is risking his life!
Kate looked at Amanda, who had tears in her eyes while writing.
Amanda – Aren't they his girlfriends or something? Why aren't they worried?!
Eve – Amanda, you...
Amanda – What?! You too! I underestimated you! I thought your feelings were real!
Gwen – Amanda, wait, don't jump to conclusions, it's not that we don't care about Allen, but he... isn't even fighting seriously...
Amanda – Huh?
Amanda saw how a mountain range was being destroyed by the fight, how could he not be taking it seriously?
The girls smiled, while Eve had an awkward smile, she'd be the same as Amanda if she hadn't seen the past VODs (Video On Demand) showing where Allen had been so far.
...
Omni-Man screamed as he delivered such a massive punch that it made the atmosphere shake. But this time, it didn't connect with Allen's face.
"Huh?!" Omni-Man's eyes widened, and his punch was stopped by Allen's hand.
Allen smiled, "The same trick won't work twice!"
People did everything they could to get closer and see the fight, using drones. For a moment, the fight focused on Lake Michigan, near Chicago. Of course, Omni-Man's punch destroyed several drones, but some managed to transmit the fight to the world.
Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.
What they saw left them speechless. Allen hit Omni-Man in the face, breaking several teeth, then in the stomach, chest, and face again. Then he grabbed his head and kneeled him, breaking his nose.
Amanda, the Chat, the world watched in shock—Omni-Man was getting a beating.
"Ahhhh!"
Furious, Omni-Man charged, knocking Allen out of the planet. The two fought in space, creating shockwaves with each blow. However, Omni-Man's punches seemed to do little damage to Allen.
Omni-Man could feel a strength difference he hadn't anticipated. How was it possible for Allen to be so strong? He had underestimated him too much.
"Damn it!"
Omni-Man charged at Allen once more, crashing him into the moon. They both went through it and flew to the second moon behind it. This one was larger, had a toxic atmosphere, and was filled with volcanoes.
Allen grunted and kneed Omni-Man in the stomach. Omni-Man spat blood. It didn't stop there. Allen grabbed his arm and struck him. Omni-Man flew for miles before landing in the magma that flowed like rivers on the surface.
Omni-Man shook his head; he was getting beaten. At this point, he could no longer deny that the human was stronger than him. However, he wasn't going to back down. He still had his pride as a Viltrumite elite.
Omni-Man screamed as he bent his legs to propel himself. As he lifted off from the surface, he left behind a massive crater. With all his strength, he attacked Allen. Every five hits, Omni-Man was able to land one. Eventually, this started to tear Allen's clothes, making him angry.
"Nolan, you motherfucker!"
Allen grabbed both of Omni-Man's fists and twisted his hands. Omni-Man grunted in pain and gritted his teeth before headbutting Allen. However, instead of hurting Allen, he damaged his own forehead.
"Damn it!"
Allen grabbed Omni-Man's face and slammed it into the magma-covered ground. He didn't let go and took Omni-Man all the way to the core of the second moon, where the temperature was so high that the upper part of Omni-Man's suit burned, as did his back.
"AH!" sensing that his life was in danger, Omni-Man increased his strength due to adrenaline and, in the face of death, managed to hit Allen hard enough to push him away.
Omni-Man flew out of the moon's core. His skin was burned, and he had many wounds.
"THIS IS NOT OVER!"
"Sure..." said Allen.
Omni-Man flew around the moon, returning to strike Allen, but Allen dodged. Omni-Man didn't stop and circled the moon again, even faster, but Allen dodged again. Omni-Man kept circling the moon faster and faster. In that last spin, Omni-Man prepared the strongest punch he could make. If it hit Earth, it would have destroyed it.
Unexpectedly, Allen showed no fear. In that last frame, Allen's face was calm and cold, while Omni-Man had an intense look with bloodshot eyes.
*BOOOOOOOM!*
The punch shattered the moon, but...
"Huh... that's impossible!" Omni-Man opened his eyes—his punch was stopped by Allen's hand, who smiled.
"It's not impossible for me!" Allen punched Omni-Man in the stomach, piercing his body.
"Ahhhh! Damn!" Omni-Man grabbed Allen's arm and squeezed it with all his might, clearly trying to break it.
Allen frowned. Viltrumites were indeed resistant. Even with a hole in his stomach, Omni-Man kept fighting.
"Tsk." Allen grabbed Omni-Man's face and threw him back to Earth.
...
On Earth, people were terrified. The second moon was larger than the first, so everyone could see how it was destroyed in just a few seconds, the time it took for the light to reach them.
Omni-Man fell like a meteor into the Pacific Ocean. Allen followed him, striking him before he reached the ocean's surface, creating an explosion and a tsunami.
Omni-Man sank to the ocean's depths and was hit once more. On the surface, the sea seemed to rise as if there were nuclear explosions in the depths. But they were just Allen's punches.
Cecil managed to send drones from a nearby base. At the GDA and the Guardians' headquarters, they could see the ocean in utter chaos.
After a dozen punches, a figure flew out of the sea and into the sky, crashing heavily into the middle of a city.
People gathered and began recording curiously but realized that in the crater on the ground was Omni-Man...
He was the strongest superhero, "Omni-Man," but they had never seen him in this state. He had broken bones, shattered teeth, swollen cheekbones, a black eye, multiple wounds all over his body, multiple hemorrhages, several second and third-degree burns, and a hole in his stomach. He was Omni-Man, destroyed after receiving the beating of his life.
Allen landed not far away and walked toward him. His clothes were dirty and torn, with a few scratches and a slight bruise on his cheek, but he was fine.
"Hey, old man, didn't you say something about enslaving me?!" Allen spat some blood and snorted. "Maybe you should reconsider that..."
