I was Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha-Chapter 146: Mother
~AMBROSE’S POV~
"Bring her forward."
A small woman with long black hair pale skin coated in dirt and blood was dragged toward us.
Esmerelda.
Instantly my soldiers erupted and charged forward. A massive war broke out on the narrow path.
My soldiers were trained to be ruthless and merciless. And it showed.
The stronger beta’s shifted instantly. Their bones contorting as they shifted midair. Tearing into the weak rogues. Ripping heads from their bodies. Blood coated the floor like a blanket. Flowing like a river. Limps pulled from arms.
These rogues were lead to me like lambs to a slaughter.
What was Micca thinking?
Then He grabbed Esme up by her hair and she cried out. She never cries.
I could feel Odette’s rage mirroring my own.
She truly hated seeing a woman harmed by men. It was like someone throwing gas on a forest fire.
I could feel the switch flip in her. And for a moment I was afraid.
She was about to roast Micca.
"You Bastard..." She growled before I had the chance to speak and in the blink of an eye she had lunged from the group nearly flying toward Micca.
Her body ignited in white fire.
Flames that raged with a mind of their own, in her wake fire trailed behind her.
Micca screamed as she collided with him. She straddled him and slammed her fists into his face. Burns searing his skin with each punch.
His cries were painful enough to make a man’s blood run cold.
"No man who hurts a woman will escape me. I will burn your soul." Her voice echoed with ancient power. Deep and terrifying.
The fighting had ceased immediately, and we all stood and watched, as she laid into him, her blows breaking the bones in his face.
Each slam of her fist a crack echoed in the weyline.
His face was crumbling in on him, and she still hadn’t stopped. His body was being engulfed by her enchanting white flame.
He still held Esme’s hair in his grip, but the fire didn’t burn her. In fact, it surrounded her like a protective shield.
He slowly released his grip as the life faded from him.
Esme jumped to her feet and scrambled toward me. Hugging my ankles like a small child.
She was fearless, what could they have done to her that made her tremble like this?
I knew we should have pulled her sooner. I shouldn’t have listened to her.
Odette rose to her feet slowly, effortlessly, with ethereal grace.
The fire danced on her skin, and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
Her fire burned brighter.
Then I felt it.
We all did. A dread settled in, dampening the light in our hearts. A chill crept into our bones, and a darkness swallowed the world behind the remaining rogues.
The stench of death and decay filled the air. Gagging me.
"It’s good to sense your presence, MoonChild. You are more in this life, than you were in your last." The voice dripped with malice despite its soft sounding appearance. There was an echo of darkness deepening under the gentle voice.
I could feel Odette. Her breathing had stopped, and her body was quivering. The sadness and pain and longing flooding her heart was almost too much for me to bear.
When the figure that led the darkness approach what I saw nearly stopped my heart.
"Mother..." Odette whispered so low no one but me could have heard her. Her voice trembled.
"Your mother is gone MoonChild, and only I remain." The voice sounded disgusting using Queen Violet to speak.
Ezelreth. Onyx growled and I could feel him charging forward, his instinct overpowering my will and control.
I shifted instantly. My giant black wolf stood tall behind Odette, my teeth bared and dripped with saliva. My growl shook the walls of the weyline. My aura exploded forcing my soldiers and the rogues to their knees.
I’ve never felt Onyx like this before. Indescribable power was pulsing through me. Every nerve felt charged and alive.
Our bond strengthened, and I could feel her heart calming as she connected more with Onyx. The two seemed to sync up in away all their own. Like years of familiar history came rushing into our bodies.
I couldn’t explain with words the way our connection felt right now. But it was different, otherworldly.
Odette’s voice went from soft and quiet to something godly and absolute. What came from her throat almost didn’t sound like her. But the voice of her soul coming forward, the way Onyx did with me, "Ezelreth, I will destroy you, just like last time. You won’t win."
The voice inside Queen Violet laughed deep and menacing "You think that pretty daughter of the moon, but you are out of your depth, pampered princess."
Instead of feeling insulted, she felt laughter spread through her. "Ezelreth, you were born a loser, you’ll die a loser."
Queen Violet frowned.
"We shall see, won’t we MoonChild. I look forward to our destined battle." And with that the darkness in the room surrounded Queen Violet and she disappeared in a cloud of shadow.
Odette dropped to her knees. Silent sob’s racked her body.
Onyx pulled back allowing me to shift back to my mortal form.
I leaned down and lifted her chin.
"You okay?" I whispered low.
"No..." She sniffled.
My soldiers were assessing each other for damages.
Odette’s shoulders sunk and her body was pulling inward.
"Let’s go." I scooped her into my arms bridal style. My soldiers all looked at me surprised.
"Everything you saw here today is to remain a secret. If I even so much as suspect anyone of you of speaking about this, I will not hesitate to convict you of treason and sentence you to death on the spot. This is an order from your Alpha King." I let my command wash over each of them.
"Alpha King, what is she?" One of them asked.
"She is someone you are lucky to have had a chance to see and meet. That’s all I’m going to say about this." I didn’t leave any room for negotiation. My word was final.
Alexis, pick up Esme and bring her back to the infirmary to have her examined.
Esme who normally never lets anyone touch her allowed Alexis to pick her up.
So, it was true. Ezelreth was possessing Queen Violet.
