I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 173
Chapter 173: Chapter 173
There were only about thirty people guarding the old marketplace. As I surveyed the area, I noted that the people of the past weren’t exactly adept at controlling their aura. Out of all the guards present, one individual stood out—Jackson. He was the only person I had found difficult to defeat.
I’ve already clashed with him a couple of times when I was still the only one here. He was a slippery bastard; every time I thought I had him cornered, he would do underhanded tricks and slip away. I had eventually ignored him, but with Edge here, I felt confident that he could take Jackson down.
"The subordinate leader, Jackson, should be inside. I’ll handle the small fries outside while you deal with him. I’ll support you from the back," I instructed, trying to keep my voice low.
Edge, however, seemed uninterested in my plan. "I don’t need your support," he replied casually, pulling out his Dragon Crescent Blade Spear. He spun it needlessly in the air, sending dirt and dust flying.
"Pfft!" I spat out the dirt that had managed to enter my mouth. "Hey! What are you doing?! You’re getting dirt in my mouth! Did you forget what I just said?!"
He was making unnecessary noise and drawing attention to us!
"Shut it," Edge shot back, his focus still on the spear.
"Don’t shut me up!" I was now frustrated, my patience wearing thin. "You got dirt in your mouth too, you know."
"...Cut the crap," Edge grumbled, though I could see the desire to spit out the dirt warring with his stubbornness.
Just then, we were interrupted by a deep voice echoing from the shadows, "Who’s there?"
Both of us snapped our heads toward the source of the voice. He was clearly one of the lackeys on patrol, and I realized that Edge’s antics had drawn us out into the open.
I sighed frustratedly and facepalmed, wishing I could smack my forehead in annoyance. "Great, thanks to you, someone found us."
Edge rolled his eyes and shifted into a fighting stance, his weapon ready. "Then I’ll handle him, easy as that."
"What do you mean, handle him?" I asked, shoving him aside. "The small fries are mine to deal. You will deal with the leader later."
Edge opened his mouth to retort, but just then, a young man with a well-built body appeared, scanning the area with suspicion. The light of his flashlight illuminated us. "This area is off limits. What are the two of you doing here?"
We both ignored the man as we’re getting frustrated at each other.
"You see what you did?" I gestured at the man and then back to Edge. "We were supposed to infiltrate without alerting anyone, just like we planned a few days ago! But clearly, someone wasn’t paying attention!"
"And why would I listen to you?" Edge replied matter-of-factly, his cheeky grin making me want to pull my hair out.
I pulled my hair to stop myself at shouting at him. I took a deep breath, reminding myself to stay calm. He was the heir of Killian, after all. If I smacked him out of frustration, I would die as soon as we get back to the present time.
"Hey! If you lovebirds just came here to fight, go do it somewhere else," the young man interrupted, looking back and forth between us with a mix of confusion and irritation.
We both stopped bickering and turned to look at him, wide-eyed.
Edge stepped forward, sneering. "What did you say?"
I pulled a dagger from my belt and glared at the guy menacingly. "Lovebirds? Since when do we look like lovers?"
The young man, sensing the immense aura surrounding us, quickly grabbed his weapon—kali sticks—and imbued his mana into them. "Don’t blame me for interrupting your moment. You two were just too loud."
In a fit of anger, I quickly lunged toward him, stabbing him in the side and kicking him away from us. "He’s talking too much."
"Good work," Edge chimed in, seeming impressed.
I wiped my dagger clean and sheathed it, glancing at Edge. "Stay here and wait for my signal."
"Like I said, who are you to tell me where to go or not go?" Edge shot back with his characteristic arrogance.
I stopped approaching the marketplace when I heard his reply. Seriously, this arrogant brat. I would never team up with him again. "Would you rather help me kill the small fries, waste your energy and face their leader or stay here until you wait for my signal and fight with the leader?"
".... I guess you’re right," he conceded reluctantly.
I proceeded to go to the marketplace alone to kill all the patrols surrounding the area.

On the other hand, Cypher’s team was in the middle of infiltrating the abandoned library.
"Hmm...." Looking above at the library, Rex fell into thought.
"Hmm..." Rex murmured thoughtfully as he gazed up at the towering library facade. His eyes landed on the gleaming mirror shard encased in a magical cylinder on the second floor. Rex knew it wouldn’t be easy to snatch it away.
Christian broke the silence. "...What’s our plan?"
Rex quickly assessed their surroundings and nodded as he scanned the enemy forces. There were about fifty people stationed around—a fairly daunting number.
"We’re going to have to draw them out," Rex planned, glancing at Cypher. "Cypher, you need to draw their attention as much as possible. Most of them will chase after you, but they’ll keep a small number back to defend. Meanwhile, the four of us will suppress the rest and steadily lower their count."
Whitney looked apprehensive. "Isn’t that a bit too dangerous?"
Angela chimed in, "I’ll go with Cypher then!"
"No," Christian interjected firmly. "Cypher’s stronger than the rest of us, so we’ll let him be the bait."
Cypher nodded, a serene smile on his face. "I think it’s for the best. I’ll get going now."
With that, Cypher summoned his aura, a vibrant energy radiating from him, and he dashed towards the library. He burst into the open, catching the attention of the guards instantly.
With precision, he struck down a patrolling guard with his cane. "Argh!" the man cried out, collapsing in pain, and the other guards’ heads turned toward Cypher in alarm.
"E-enemy! There’s an ambush!" one of the guards shouted, panic trickling into his voice.
Hearing the warning, most of the guards surged toward Cypher, drawn to the threat he posed while a few remained behind to cover the entrance. Seizing the opportunity, Christian, Rex, Whitney, and Angela sprang into action, rushing at the guards left unprotected.
"W-What!?!" one guard stammered as they were immediately caught off-guard.
"Aack!" another guard gasped as Christian, using his monstrous strength, headlocked him, taking him down swiftly.
Angela didn’t waste any time—she fired arrows imbued with mana, targeting the legs of the disoriented guards. With impeccable accuracy, her arrows struck true, toppling several of them to the ground.
Meanwhile, Whitney utilized her whip with agility and finesse. She flicked it out, expertly choking one guard and immobilizing another, providing space for Rex to charge in.
Rex, fueled by adrenaline, swung his sword with precision, knocking the guards out as he advanced. "There are still enemies inside the library!" he yelled.
At that moment, Angela shouted, "Hey, Rex! You and Christian handle getting the mirror shard! Whitney and I will go help Cypher!"
"Okay!" Rex replied, dodging an incoming sword strike while eyeing the staircase leading up to the second floor.
With the guards now distracted and in disarray, Christian and Rex surged toward the staircase. They vaulted up the steps two at a time, the glass shard gleaming above them.
Meanwhile, Whitney and Angela pushed through the remaining guards, determined to assist Cypher. As they moved swiftly, they could see him expertly dodging and countering attacks, using his agility and aura skills to keep the enemies at bay.
"Keep moving!" Whitney shouted, her whip crackling in the air as she targeted another guard.
"Got it!" Angela cried, firing another volley of arrows at their pursuers, each one finding its mark as they fought their way towards Cypher.
On the staircase, Rex and Christian reached the landing, adrenaline coursing through their veins as they spotted the encased mirror shard glowing before them. However, they soon realized that ten more guards stood defiantly around the shard, ready to protect it at all costs.
"You’re in charge of the guards!" Rex said as he swiftly dashed an arrow that suddenly whizzed past him, barely missing his head.
"Sure!" Christian replied, quickly assessing the situation.
Without a moment to waste, Christian seized a nearby shelf, lifting it with all his might before launching it at the guards. The bookshelf crashed into the group, causing a chaotic scramble as they attempted to evade the heavy object. The ruckus created enough of a distraction for Rex to move on.
He quickly covered his sword with his aura as he sprinted towards the mirror shard.
With all his strength, Rex swung his sword against the magical barrier. The impact reverberated through the air, and the shimmering light of the shield flickered violently under the force of his strike.
As the barrier began to crack, Rex felt a rush of determination flooding his senses. "Come on... just a little more!" he urged himself. He poured everything into that attack, channeling all of his mana and aura into the strike.
