I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 186
Chapter 186: Chapter 186
I was ready to choke the life out of whoever it was, but then, as the blindfold slipped from my eyes, a rush of shock swept over me.
It was Kairos.
"What?" Confused, I instinctively held both of his cheeks, needing to confirm that it was really him—partly to keep him still, partly because my fingers trembled against his skin. My mind was a whirlwind, and his presence only added to my disorientation.
"Why are you here?" I demanded, my voice laced with urgency.
"Fulfilling a client’s orders," he replied calmly, as if it were a trivial matter. "And you?"
I don’t know why, but as soon as my skin touched his, the heat within me intensified. What is happening? My thoughts were muddled, and a strange pull was drawing me closer, igniting a desperate need that clouded my judgment. My limbs felt like jelly, and the battle to keep myself restrained slipped further from my grasp.
Before I even realized what I was doing, I instinctively hugged him, burying my face against his chest, seeking comfort.
Kairos stiffened for a moment, surprise flickering across his features, but then he relaxed into my embrace. "Looks like you’re feeling the effects of what they gave you," he said, folding his arms around me. "Interesting. You’re stronger than I anticipated."
"Just do something... It’s so uncomfortable... I’m hot all over..." I muttered, tightening my hold on him almost instinctively.
He shifted his position, sitting up while still cradling me against his chest. "Can you stand?"
I shook my head, the heat pulsing through my veins making me feel too weak and disoriented to even move.
In one swift move, he lifted me effortlessly, cradling me in his arms and making his way to the bathroom. "You can let go now," he said, a hint of amusement lacing his voice.
But I didn’t let go. "No... I like staying in your arms," I admitted, the words spilling out before I could stop myself. I didn’t even recognize the feeling behind them; the drug’s effects muddled my thoughts and desires, but in that moment, I craved his closeness.
Kairos sighed before turning on the shower and, just like that, cold water poured down over us.
"Aah!" I yelped, instinctively trying to wriggle away, but Kairos held me closer.
"This will be all over soon," he muttered and I could feel the warmth of his body against the icy water which is oddly comforting.
We stood there for a few minutes, the cold soaking us, before I began to feel the heat dissipate from my body, the overwhelming desire cooling off with every second. Gradually, my mind cleared, and I started thinking rationally again.
Finally, I snapped out of my daze and looked up at him. "P-put me down. I’m sorry for letting you see my embarrassing side," I stammered, trying to struggle my way out of his grasp.
"It’s okay," Kairos said softly as he gently placed me back on the bed.
We both sat there, drenched, the cool water trickling down our faces.
"So how did you end up here again, Remillia?" Kairos asked, probing further, his curiosity evident.
"Uhm well, I’m also on a mission?"I replied, forcing a smile that felt more nervous than sincere.
He raised an eyebrow, skepticism written all over his face. "Really?"
"Y-yes!" I responded, attempting to sound more confident. "I accepted a request from the Orion Index!" It felt like a cheap lie, but I desperately needed an out. Sorry, Professor Orion, but I needed a cover story to keep him at bay.
"What’s your mission then?" he asked, leaning in slightly, his eyes narrowing with interest.
"Why would I tell you? Don’t you know that missions are strictly confidential?" I shot back, trying to inject some authority into my tone.
I couldn’t tell if he believed me or not, but thankfully, he shifted his focus, ceasing his line of questioning.
"Thorne," Kairos called, breaking the momentary silence.
In an instant, the door swung open, revealing Thorne, who looked both surprised and slightly amused at the sight of the two of us, soaking wet in the bed. "What on Earth happened here?"
"Nothing," I blurted out too quickly, my cheeks heating up with embarrassment. I could feel the warmth flooding my face as I tried to avoid his gaze.
Thorne raised an eyebrow, giving me a look that clearly said he didn’t believe me. However, he decided to let it go for the moment, focusing instead on Kairos. "Boss, shall we go? Times running out."
Kairos didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he turned his attention back to me, his piercing gaze making my heart race. "Do you want to come with us?"
I shook my head vigorously. "You two go ahead. Besides, you and I still have different missions to complete, right?" I offered a smile, trying to sound cheerful.
He studied me for a while, the silence hanging heavily between us. "You’re right, but are you sure you’re okay on your own?"
I nodded, chuckling softly to ease the tension. "Don’t you know my other name? I’m the Mad Witch of Glacial Sphere Academy. So don’t worry about me too much."
As I began to move towards the door, Kairos caught my hand gently, causing me to stop in my tracks. "Wait," he said, his brow slightly furrowed.
I looked at him, curious about what he would say.
He then placed a dagger in my palm, its cool metal contrasting sharply with my heated skin. "I know you’re strong," he stated, "but you still need a weapon to protect yourself."
My eyes widened as I examined the dagger. It gradually began to glow white, both the handle and blade shimmering like freshly fallen snow. The handle bore an intricate design of a crescent moon, delicate and beautifully crafted.
"I promise to give it back to you once I’m done," I said, a touch of reluctance in my voice.
"There’s no need to give it back; it’s yours anyway," Kairos replied, his tone steady.
"If that’s the case, then no take backs!" I declared playfully, taking advantage of the moment to dash away from them. I didn’t want him to change his mind about the dagger.
As I sprinted away, I could feel Thorne’s eyes on us, and I glanced back just in time to see him watching me run.

"So childish," Kairos chuckled lightly at Remillia’s playful proclamation, warmth spreading in his chest as he watched her dash away with the dagger in hand. He then stood up and walked outside, refocusing on finishing what they had originally set out to do.
Meanwhile, Thorne was standing still, the two treated him as if he was an air!
He was silently observing the exchange between boss and Remillia. The way they interacted sent ripples of curiosity through him, especially when he noticed the way Boss’ gaze lingered on her as she dashed away with the dagger. Every instinct told me that something significant was happening between them. What happened at the Academy? Are they already that close with each other? And those dagger...
According to the legends, the Lunar Twinblades is a weapon forged by the god of sun and the goddess of moon as a symbol of their undying love even though they are painfully separated, they can only meet once during a solar eclipse. Though they appeared to be ordinary silver daggers, their true power reveals itself only when wielded by true soulmates. Obsidian Dusk is the name of the dagger that would turn pure black, meant for the sun, while the other, Luminous Dawn will transform into pure white, a symbol of lunar blessings. Each full moon, the bond would strengthen, intertwining their souls and binding them with an eternal promise. If these stories held any truth, then... what was this connection brewing between them?
Thorne’s mind buzzed with questions. He turned his focus back to boss, trying to gauge the depth of this connection. "So... boss? Do you have a weapon with you? I forgot to bring a weapon with me this time," Thorne suddenly asked, checking his boss’ reaction.
Kairos simply raised a black dagger which was similar to the one that he gave to Remillia. The design was also breathtaking, resembling a blazing sun.
Thorne’s jaw dropped to the ground. So it’s true? Are they really soulmates? It finally made sense why Kairos had been so unusually caring towards Remillia. There was a glimmer of warmth in Boss’ eyes that Thorne had seldom seen before.
"Do you know what that dagger is? How about its myth? Have you heard it?" Thorne couldn’t help but bombard boss with questions, the urgency bubbling over. "Do you always carry a dagger with you, boss?"
"No," Kairos replied simply, but as Thorne looked at him, something struck him. His lips were curved in the faintest hint of a smile, and for the first time, Thorne caught a glimpse of genuine joy on boss’ face that sent chills down on his spine.
"Really?" I finally managed to utter, barely able to mask my doubt. "You don’t always carry daggers? Except... you have that one..."
"Thorne," boss interjected, his tone effectively snapping me back to reality. "Don’t forget why we’re here today, so focus."
Thorne swallowed hard as he immediately shut up. "Yes, boss."
