Chapter 57: Chapter 57

I didn’t continue to listen to his rants anymore as I brushed my teeth.

I was almost done showering when I heard him again.

<Master, are you not done yet?!>

’See? He’s just like my mom.’

"I’m getting out of the shower already."

<You only have twelve minutes left.>

"Alright, alright. Where’s my uniform?"

<I placed it on the bed. I forgot to mention that I can sense that someone is waiting for you at the door twenty minutes ago.>

’It must be Cypher. How did he know that I was here already?’

I hurriedly put on my uniform and headed towards the door. A hug immediately enveloped me.

"Remi, I’m glad you’re here. The rest of the group missed you."

’Are you sure the group missed me or was it only you?’

"It was just two days. Did they really miss me or they missed me because I was a great teacher to them?"

"Hehe, well, both."

I tapped his arms that was still hugging me.

"Cypher, can you let go now? We might be late for exams."

If I hadn’t said that, Cypher wouldn’t let go of me and we’ll be late for taking out exams.

I was chattering nonstop about my travel to Cypher as he occasionally smiles and laughs with me although I deliberately hid the part about the dungeon and the real reason about visiting Korondal.

Christian noticed them as he waved at them. They went to their usual seat and before she could sit down, Christian asked her.

"Remillia! Where did you go?"

"I went to a short trip to relax my mind."

Christian just stared at her wide eyed.

"I can’t believe you. Exam is near and you had the nerve to relax?"

"When channeling your mana, which type of mana is the most easiest to use when faced with an intermediate type monster?"

Christian stared at her numbly as he slowly went back in reviewing. I just chuckled at his reaction. He most likely haven’t reviewed that yet so he instantly kept his mouth shut.

What I didn’t notice was that the students were giving us side glances even when I sat down and continued to sleep. They only seemed to stop when Cypher gave them a cold glance as he stared at Remillia sleeping.

These days, Remillia and Cypher were the trending topic of the Academy. They would talk about them because they were always seen together walking, sitting, and even eating at the cafeteria side by side. Of course, the others were also there but they only focused on the two. Remillia was the only one who doesn’t know of this.

The next to arrive were Edge, Rex, and Whitney. They also noticed Remillia sitting in her usual spot.

Whitney started to become close to Remillia ever since she was saved from Sylvester.

"Oh? Remillia, you’re already here?"

"Whitney."

Cypher gestured Whitney to keep quiet. Being hard headed as she is, she ignored Cypher on purpose as she approached Remillia and was about to shake her shoulders when Cypher stopped her hand.

"As you can see, Remi’s still asleep."

Whitney glared at him as she shoved his hand away from her.

"Who gave you the right to call her Remi?"

Cypher just mockingly smiled at her.

"Guess who."

"Then I’ll also call her Remi."

"No you canno-"

"REMILLIA!"

Angela, who was the last one to arrive, shouted loudly.

Cypher and Whitney shouted back at her.

"DON’T SHOUT!"

Angela pouted as they both scolded her so she walked on silence until she’s at Remillia’s side.

"She’s sleeping?"

"Yeah, she must’ve been tired from that trip of hers."

The girls looked at him suspiciously.

"How did you know?"

"What trip?"

"You all know that I transferred to another dorm room because of the Claire incident right? Luckily, I got to live with Remi next door that’s why I knew that she went to a trip."

They both exclaimed angrily.

"That’s unfair!"

"Tell that to the dorm in charge."

Ezekiel suddenly interrupted their conversation.

"Can I ask Remillia about something?"

He wanted to join in their conversation but haven’t had a chance so he bravely interrupted them.

"She’s sleeping."

"Can’t you see?"

Cypher only glared at him so he had no choice but to go back to his seat again.

"Wait."

Remillia suddenly raised her head and looked at Ezekiel.

"About the question you asked me last time, the answers written on our History Textbook are wrong and I’m gonna soon prove it to you."

"Huh?"

Ezekiel wanted to know more what Remillia is saying but the Professor came in the room at the wrong time.

"I hope you studied well on every subject. The first subject you’ll be taking is your favorite of all..."

The Professor paused to add some more suspense.

"...Arithmancy."

All the students groaned while the Professor seems to be happy just by looking at them suffering.

"Ahhh, music to my ears. Pass the exam papers behind you and when I say ’go’. You may now answer. Strictly, cheating is not allowed. Once you’re caught cheating, you may immediately be expelled."

Once we got each of the exam papers, the Professor waited exactly 8:30 A.M before saying ’go’.

When I flipped my exam paper, I only sighed at the questions.

’The questions are too easy. If I answer this fast enough, the professor would just suspect me.’

The room was equipped with mana detection system so that if a student tries to use mana to cheat, it would immediately detect the student.

Professor Sarah wiped the sleep from her eyes as she gazed out at the sea of students seated before her. The Arithmancy exam was supposed to be a challenge, but she had never seen anyone answer the questions with such ease as Remillia, the rumored ’Mad Witch’ student in the second to the last back row.

At first, it seemed like a fluke. But as the minutes ticked by, Remillia continued to answer each question with precision and speed, her hand moving swiftly across the paper as she filled in the complex equations and diagrams. The other students struggled to keep up, their faces scrunched in concentration as they wrestled with the difficult concepts.

But Remillia was a different story altogether. She didn’t seem to break a sweat, her brow unwrinkled and her eyes fixed intently on the paper in front of her. The professor’s curiosity grew as the minutes ticked by, and she found herself glancing at Remillia more and more frequently.

Finally, the two hour exam period came to a close, and Professor Sarah gathered up the papers. As she scanned the room, she noticed that most of the students had their heads bent in concentration, exhausted from the effort of trying to keep up. But one student remained upright, her head held high and a smug look on her face.

Remillia.

The professor’s annoyance spiked as she strode over to her desk.

"Remillia, what’s going on here?"

She demanded, her voice stern.

"How did you manage to answer every question correctly without even breaking a sweat?"

Remillia looked up at her innocently, her eyes wide and guileless.

"I just studied hard, Professor," she said simply.

Professor Sarah raised an eyebrow. She had been teaching Arithmancy for years, and she knew that Remillia was no prodigy. There was no way she could have learned this material in such a short amount of time. And yet...the answers were correct.

She hesitated for a moment before deciding to investigate further.

"Remillia, answer me honestly. Did you cheat?" she asked gruffly.

Remillia stared back at her. Her eyes seemed to change as it turned cold.

The Professor was stunned.

’How dare a student like her, glare at me like that?!’

The students around them watched the scene unfold as they gossip with each other.

"Psst. Did you bring any popcorn?"

"I forgot. I didn’t know that Remillia would cause a scene again."

"For sure, Remillia would win."

"Agreed."

"How could you say that Professor? This room was equipped with mana detection system. You know what that is right?"

Professor Sarah still seemed to be unconvinced as she pressed Remillia to be cheating.

"What if the mana detection system got malfunctioned?"

"Professor, for the last time, I didn’t cheat. Here, let me show you."

Remillia got annoyed as she released her mana. She thought that it was going to be small but because of her emotion she was feeling right now, she unintentionally released a lot of her mana.

Her body began to radiate a soft, golden light. The light grew in intensity, illuminating the surrounding air with a warm, fiery glow.

All of them seemed to be stunned by the color of her mana. It was gold! Mana like that are so rare to see even on Apex ranked Heroes.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The mana detection system alerted as lasers pointed at her body.

"Ah."

Professor Sarah ashamed of what she did said slowly.

"I see."

Remillia wanted to say more but instead, she only smiled sweetly at her.

’Why would she even suspect me of cheating? Am I that stupid? Tsk!’

"You’re welcome."

As the professor watched, stunned and furious, Remillia leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, already falling asleep again despite the commotion she had caused.

The Professor quickly collected all the papers and got out of the room as she was embarrassed by what she did.

’She can’t accept that Remillia, an average student manage to perfect her exam.

’Let’s see about her other subjects. I doubt she would perfect them all.’
