I won't fall for the queen who burned my world-Chapter 150: How do you forget breakfeast
Chapter 150 - How do you forget breakfeast
They had been walking for only a few minutes, the crisp morning air fresh against Elysia's skin, the sound of their boots crunching against the dirt path the only noise between them.
The mountains stretched before them, vast and imposing, their peaks dusted with the faint shimmer of early morning frost. The scent of pine and damp earth lingered in the air, carried by the occasional breeze that rustled through the trees.
For a moment, it was peaceful.
Then, Elysia's stomach growled.
Loudly.
She froze. So did Malvoria.
A second of silence stretched between them before Malvoria turned her head, raising a single brow, her expression unreadable.
Elysia crossed her arms and huffed. "Not a word."
Malvoria smirked. "I wasn't going to say anything."
"You were thinking it."
Malvoria let out a low chuckle before coming to a sudden stop. Elysia barely had time to react before the demon queen muttered, "Oh. Totally forgot about breakfast."
Elysia blinked. Stared. Her jaw dropped slightly before she snapped it shut again. "You what?"
Malvoria looked completely unbothered as she shrugged, adjusting the strap of her pack. "I was focused on making sure we had enough supplies for the day's trek."
Elysia gaped. "How do you forget about breakfast? It's important! Essential! The most important meal of the day! What kind of tyrant queen are you?"
Malvoria arched a brow. "I didn't know you were so passionate about breakfast."
Elysia groaned dramatically. "That's because I'm starving! If I collapse from hunger, just know it's your fault."
Malvoria rolled her eyes but then, with an infuriating calmness, reached into her bag and pulled out a neatly wrapped bundle of food. She held it up, watching Elysia's growing indignation with amusement.
"You had food this whole time?" Elysia accused.
Malvoria smirked. "Yes."
"And you forgot?"
"Momentarily."
Elysia threw her hands in the air. "Unbelievable."
Malvoria simply smirked and unwrapped the bundle, revealing an assortment of food—soft bread, dried meats, fresh fruit. The smell alone made Elysia's frustration momentarily vanish.
With only a small amount of grumbling, Elysia took a seat on a nearby rock, grabbing a piece of bread and tearing into it with far more aggression than necessary. Malvoria sat beside her, eating at a much more leisurely pace.
Silence settled between them. Not the tense, uncomfortable kind, but something quieter. Unspoken.
Elysia focused on her food, and despite herself, she had to admit—it was good. The bread was fresh, the meat was flavorful, and the fruit was perfectly ripe.
Malvoria was an infuriating person, but at least she had good taste.
When they finished, Malvoria rose smoothly to her feet, dusting off her hands. "Ready to go?"
Elysia sighed, standing as well. "I suppose."
And with that, they continued.
The morning sun had risen higher, casting a golden glow over the mountains, turning the rocky cliffs into shimmering silver and bronze.
Their path led them deeper into the heart of the mountain range, winding through narrow passages and steep inclines. The air grew cooler the higher they climbed, the scent of mineral-rich stone filling Elysia's lungs.
Their first destination was a hidden cave system deep within the mountains—one Malvoria had mentioned but hadn't given much detail about.
When they reached the entrance, Elysia's breath caught.
The cave mouth was massive, a yawning chasm stretching into the mountainside, but what stunned her was the glow. A faint, otherworldly blue light seeped from within, illuminating the darkness with an eerie, beautiful shimmer.

Malvoria stepped ahead, leading the way inside.
The moment Elysia followed, she felt as if she had stepped into a dream.
The walls were lined with massive crystal formations, each one glowing softly, casting gentle blue and violet hues against the cavern's stone.
Some jutted from the floor like jagged ice, others grew in twisting, delicate spires along the ceiling. The glow pulsed faintly, as if the entire cave were breathing.
Elysia inhaled deeply, the air thick with something ancient and powerful.
"This is incredible," she murmured, running her fingers lightly over one of the crystals. It was cool to the touch, smooth like glass but thrumming with barely contained energy.
Malvoria watched her, arms crossed, silent.
Elysia was too enraptured to notice at first. She wandered deeper into the cave, touching the formations, watching as her movements sent ripples of light through the walls, refracting like the glow of the moon over water.
"I've never seen anything like this," she admitted, voice quieter now.
Malvoria's lips curled into something faintly resembling a smile. "I thought you'd like it."
Elysia turned to her, eyes wide. "You brought me here just because you thought I'd like it?"
Malvoria held her gaze for a moment before finally shrugging. "You enjoy discovery, don't you?"
Elysia blinked, momentarily thrown.
She did. She loved discovery, loved adventure, loved finding beauty in unexpected places.
And Malvoria had noticed.
That realization sent something fluttering wildly in her chest. No no feelings she thought.
She quickly turned away, pretending to examine another crystal. "Well," she muttered, "congratulations. You managed to impress me."
Malvoria smirked. "Noted."
They continued exploring, Elysia completely lost in the wonder of the place. At one point, she crouched down, running her fingers along the cavern floor where smaller crystals grew in delicate clusters.
She barely noticed Malvoria moving closer until she felt a soft touch against her hair.
Her breath hitched.
Malvoria's fingers brushed lightly against a loose strand, tucking it behind her ear.
Elysia froze.
The touch was brief, featherlight, but it left a searing imprint. She slowly turned her head, finding Malvoria already watching her, gaze unreadable—dark, deep, intense.
Elysia swallowed hard.
Malvoria didn't pull away immediately. Her fingers lingered just a second longer, grazing against Elysia's cheek before she finally, finally moved back.
Elysia's heart pounded.
She forced herself to breathe, to act normal, to pretend like that hadn't just made her entire body shiver.
But it was impossible. Because something had changed.
Malvoria had changed.
Or maybe... she had.
Elysia didn't know anymore.
All she knew was that she was falling.
