I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]-Chapter 146: Breaking In
Chapter 146: Breaking In
How to figure out what Eden was thinking? It was quite simple, really! All that was needed was to put him under the truth spell...
Of course, it wasn’t without any problems. If Felix was wrong, if his suspicions were nothing but him being paranoid... That could lead to him having a fallout with Eden for no reason. Which would be a shame, truly. Not just because Felix might potentially lose one of his friends, whom he didn’t have many, but also hurt a person who had been nothing but helpful for him all this time... Treat him unfairly just because he was overly suspicious.
But he had to do it. On the chance that he was NOT wrong, he had to investigate Eden. It concerned his and Vivi’s safety, and even Remi’s peace... So, Felix couldn’t afford to take any risks and be too trusting. Which was why he wanted to put Eden under the memory-alerting spell in the first place.
Naturally, he didn’t actually need his consent for Remi to cast a spell on him. He hadn’t asked his Crossroads’ coworkers (with the exception of his former boss, who had agreed to be put under the spell after hearing Felix’s reasoning. Since Felix felt that he owed him for taking him in before, he wanted to do things the right way by informing him about the situation first - not the whole truth, just the same excuse he had told Eden) or his neighbors either, Remi had just put them under the spell, and the problem was solved. He could do the same thing to Eden...
However, after the conversation they had, he just wouldn’t feel at ease leaving it at that. He HAD to figure out what Eden’s true motives were. Was he just trying to be Felix’s close friend, was he simply interested in any potentially juicy gossip, even if it was something he couldn’t share with anyone else... Or did he have any other, hidden intentions?
So, Felix discussed things with Remi, who had overheard their earlier conversation, and thus was already familiar with the situation, and they both decided to enchant Eden to reveal the truth at the first opportunity...
Except that this opportunity just didn’t seem to arrive. Days had passed, turning into weeks. But no matter how many times Felix extended an invitation to Eden, the Omega just never seemed to be able to have time to meet up with him. December came, and Vivi turned six months old, but when the time came for her birthday party, Eden once again claimed to be busy. Even though the party was hosted in Felix’s house, and the witch wasn’t going to attend this time... Well, that last part was a lie, of course, as Remi was going to be there, only in his fox form, but Felix didn’t reveal that to Eden. He promised that it would just be him and one of Felix’s female friends (that is, Brielle)... But Eden still said he had prior engagements.
Now that was getting more and more suspicious. It would be understandable if Eden didn’t have time once... But each time Felix had tried to invite him? They had known each other for a year at this point, and during this whole time, Eden had never been so busy!
His odd behavior only convinced Felix that he had to investigate the man even more. And Eden wouldn’t come to him...
Then Felix had no choice but to be the one to pay him a ’surprise visit’ instead.

Everything was covered in a layer of fresh snow, not yet dirty from the sand that the town management spread around to stop the road and the sidewalk from being slippery. It was late at night, and the area was dark and quiet, only one or two windows still lit up. The snow underneath Felix’s boots creaked with each step, as he followed the fox, walking quickly down the road. He pulled the abomination of a knitted scarf that he was wearing higher, up to his nose, to stop the cold air from pinching his skin...
It was his first time coming to Eden’s house. Not because the Omega had never invited him before - he did, multiple times, actually - but because he lived in a house with two other rogue werewolves whom Felix did not know, so he didn’t feel comfortable meeting them just yet...
When he thought about it, it was quite ironic. When he was invited, he didn’t come. And now, when he was finally coming... He was uninvited. Coming without Eden’s knowledge. Breaking in.
Felix... felt quite disappointed with himself. He was truly crossing the line here, and there would be no turning back after that... Even if he made Eden forget everything afterwards, there was no way they could just go to being friends, not after Felix had broken into his house in the middle of the night to interrogate him. It just... wouldn’t feel right.
But he felt as if he had to do it, to make sure that he could live in peace. Eden was acting way too suspicious to just leave him be... And Felix wouldn’t have gone so far if Eden hadn’t avoided him first.
Those were just excuses, yes. But to make sure that he and Vivi were safe... Felix was willing to do anything.
They soon arrived, sneaking around the house to get through the back door. Although the streets were empty, and Felix had his face and head covered with his scarf-like hand knitted thing and a hat (store-bought), he didn’t want to risk being spotted, lest someone might look through the window at that moment, see him and Remi acting suspicious, and call the cops. As unlikely as it was, it was better to proceed with caution.
Remi transformed into his human form at the door, whispering something incomprehensible, and making the door open in front of them. As soon as they stepped in, he started casting another spell, filling the house with purple mist, which would put anyone but him (and Felix, who had a protective spell on him) to sleep. This was so that they wouldn’t accidentally alert Eden’s housemates.
They checked the rooms, one by one, until they found Eden’s room. The Omega was deep asleep on his bed...
Felix and Remi exchanged glances.
It was the time to start the interrogation. Remi whispered something... freeweɓnovel-cøm
