I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]-Chapter 175: Room 629
Chapter 175: Room 629
After an hour or so more of a somewhat awkward and uncomfortable silence, Kade pulled over to a hotel.
That much had been agreed on. The road from Silverfall to the Bloodmoon Pack was long, and Kade had already traveled this distance once that day, rushing from the Bloodmoon Pack to pick up Felix. It would be unreasonable to expect of him to drive straight back, as that would require him to spend around 24 hours behind the wheel. As for Felix, he was also feeling tired after the sleepless night. Not to mention, he didn’t even have his driving license with him, as he had left it back at the Moonhill Pack, and hadn’t had a chance to get a new one.
But staying at Silverfall for one more night so that Kade could rest wasn’t an option either. Primarily because Felix was worried that Remi would figure out what was going on, and convince him to stay either by coaxing or a spell...
Or that he might change his mind on his own, without any external influence.
So, in order to make it work, they decided to spend the night at a hotel some distance away from Silverfall.
That’s what they had agreed on earlier. Except that...
What Felix had in mind was a cheap motel by the road.
But instead, Kade had brought him to what seemed like a five-star resort!
It shouldn’t have been a surprise, considering Felix’s past experiences with Kade, but...
Kade didn’t even give him enough time to protest. By the time Felix’s tired brain processed the situation, Kade was already out of the car, carrying Vivi in one hand, and a small suitcase in the other.
"Come on, don’t sleep in the car!" he grinned at Felix. "The bed will be more comfortable!"
...Felix didn’t have a good feeling about it. He didn’t know why exactly, but his intuition was telling him that Kade might be planning something...
However, he was too tired to care. And since he wanted Kade to take him in, he had to learn to play by Kade’s rules, at least to some degree. Even if Felix coming to the Bloodmoon Pack was something Kade wanted as well, it didn’t change the fact that at this moment, the Alpha was doing him a favor.
So, he got out of the car, grabbed his backpack with his and Vivi’s essentials, which he had prepared for the night, and quietly followed Kade into the building.
The reception hall was grand and elegant, bright and sparkling despite the late hour. Perhaps because there weren’t many people around, aside from two older women sitting by the bar and sipping fancy drinks, the hall seemed even larger than it was, more like a palace rather than a hotel. Their steps almost seemed to echo among the marble floor and walls, while the crystal chandelier twinkled, reflecting the lights...
As Felix looked around with his tired eyes, soaking in the grandeur of the place, albeit without much interest - he really wasn’t in the mood to enjoy any luxuries - Kade walked over to the reception, and exchanged a few words with the lady behind the desk. It seemed that he already had a reservation, because everything went extremely smoothly. In just a few minutes or less, he returned to Felix’s side, with two elegant key cards in his hand.
"There you go," he said, handing one to Felix. "It’s room 629."
"Mn. Thank you," Felix nodded his head, and holding Vivi in his arms, headed for the lift. Kade followed right after him, but Felix didn’t think much of it. It was expected that their rooms would be next to each other. Actually, Felix had initially suspected that Kade might trick him into staying in the same room, but since he had handed Felix a separate key card, perhaps he had been wrong this time...
But he had celebrated too fast. As they got out on the sixth floor, Kade still trailed behind him.
All the way to the door of the room number 629.
"...What are you doing?" As they arrived at the door, and Kade was still right by his side, Felix couldn’t help but ask.
Kade flashed a wide grin in response. "Going to my room, of course!"
"Your room?" Felix glanced at the door once again to confirm the number. It was 629 alright...
Kade’s smile widened. "I’m in room 629."
Felix blinked a few times, giving Kade a blank stare. Of course, it was becoming obvious beyond any doubt as to what was going on, but he still had to ask, "Then where am I?"
Although it almost seemed impossible, Kade’s smile widened even further. "You’re in room 629," he said, barely holding back a laugh. freewēbnoveℓ.com
For a long while, Felix just stood there, with Vivi in his one arm, while the key card in his other hand, already half-risen toward the card reader at the door. Although he looked dazed, his mind was working hard, contemplating all the possibilities...
Should he go back to the reception, and ask for another room? It would undoubtedly be expensive, but he had more than enough money on him. Of course, even if he had the money, that didn’t mean that he wanted to waste it on a room in an undoubtedly overly pricey hotel, but...
Guessing what Felix was thinking, Kade said, before the Omega could make any move, "There are no free rooms left."
Felix’s brows momentarily shot up.
No empty rooms? As if! It wasn’t the high season. Not to mention, the hotel seemed too quiet. Yes, it was the middle of the night, but still. SOME rooms were likely to be occupied, perhaps even a lot of them, but there was no way that there wasn’t a single one left, especially if Felix needed it for just the rest of the night!
...However, Felix had a feeling that if he went to the reception to ask, the lady at the desk would give him the same answer as Kade. After all, he already had experience with how Kade worked, after learning that there was ’no such thing as hospital bills’ at the hospital where he had given birth!
Still...
Seeing that Felix was still unconvinced, Kade added, "Besides, it’s safer for us to stay together, no? Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you... Not unless you want me to!"
Felix hesitated for a moment longer, before finally letting out a sigh. Kade had a point - it WAS safer to stay together. And it was already so late, looking for another place to stay would be such a waste of time and money...
So, while he still didn’t quite appreciate Kade’s trick, he didn’t try to argue, and just pressed the key card on the reader, opening the door.
