Chapter 125: THE BITTER TRUTH

THIS hyung should have at least given me a lame excuse...

Of course, Wonyoung wasn’t saying that he wanted Yun Dujun to lie to him.

But, in the deepest corner of his heart, he was hoping that he was wrong.

That the Alpha didn’t use him for his method acting.

But, alas, Yun Dujun admitted the truth so easily.

"Hyung, how could you do that to me?"

"Wonyoung-ah, listen to me first," Yun Dujun begged desperately, holding his hands tight as if he were afraid that he’d leave without listening to his explanation. "It started that way, but not anymore. I’ve truly fallen in love with you. I’ve actually forgotten about the audition until you brought it up. I wasn’t acting whenever I expressed my love for you."

A part of Wonyoung felt relieved and happy to hear that from Yun Dujun.

But a big part of him still felt betrayed and hurt.

He couldn’t process things yet since it was too much for his heart and brain.

"Hyung, give me your car key." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Yun Duun looked confused by his request, but the Alpha complied and handed Wonyoung the car key. "Wonyoung-ah, are you going home alone? I understand that you don’t want to be with me. But, at least, let me call for a driver—"

"I can drive and I have my license with me," Wonyoung said. In this world, he hadn’t driven a car yet after he fell into a comatose state. But he already got a license because he used to work for a moving company (where he had to drive mini-trucks) before marrying Yun Dujun. "I don’t want to go home with you."

"But we need to talk, Wonyoung-ah."

"Not now. Give me space first, Hyung."

Yun Dujun looked like he wanted to protest at first.

But, in the end, the Alpha sighed and nodded.

"You’re going home, right?"

"I’m going home to my old apartment."

Yun Dujun looked more devastated after hearing that. "Wonyoung-ah..."

"I’ll come home once I’ve calmed down," Wonyoung said, getting up. "Hyung, if you follow me, I’ll really run away from home."

***

AS SOON as Bae Wonyoung left, Yun Dujun immediately called Han Myung.

"Han Myung, track the car that I used this morning. Yes, that one. My husband is driving that car right now, and I want you to follow him and make sure he’ll be where he said he’d be. If Bae Wonyoung doesn’t end up going to his old apartment, call me immediately. Make sure to follow him wherever he goes."

"Yes, sir. Anything else?"

This was why he liked working with Han Myung— the man would follow his orders without question.

"That’s all for now."

"Alright, sir. Then I’ll be on my way to follow Bae Wonyoung-nim."

After ending the call, Yun Dujun immediately turned around and faced Lee Heeju— shooting the fellow Alpha with a cold glare.

Lee Heeju immediately opened his mouth, his tone full of protest.

"I didn’t tell Bae Wonyoung that you’re using him for your method acting."

Yun Dujun scoffed at Lee Heeju’s blatant lie. "Are you telling me Bae Wonyoung already knew about my initial plan?"

"That’s exactly what happened!"

"Lee Heeju, only three people knew about my plan— you, Coach Kwon Taeyoo, and Spencer Hyung," Yun Dujun said, almost growling. "So, how would Bae Wonyoung find out about it? It’s been a while since Bae Wonyoung saw Coach Kwon, and he never spoke alone with Spencer Hyung."

"But why would I reveal your plan—"

"Isn’t it because of your feelings for me?"

Lee Heeju looked shocked by Yun Dujun’s revelation. "How..."

"It doesn’t matter how I found out about your feelings for me," Yun Dujun said coldly. It wasn’t like he was protecting Spencer Choi for his slip of the tongue— he just really thought that it wasn’t important. "Lee Heeju, I respect your feelings for me. But you should have respected my relationship with Bae Wonyoung. Even if Bae Wonyoung weren’t in the picture, I still wouldn’t have fallen for you. And, even if Bae Wonyoung and I separated because of this shit you pulled, I still wouldn’t come to you."

Not that I’d let my relationship with my husband end.

"Yun Dujun, do you really love Bae Wonyoung?" Lee Heeju asked in a quiet, shaking voice. "Have you truly fallen in love with him?"

"Yes, I love Bae Wonyoung— and I just realized that I’ve already fallen this deeply for him, all thanks to this incident," Yun Dujun said. Yes, he had always liked Bae Wonyoung. But he realized that he was already too deeply in love with his husband the moment he saw him crying— the moment he realized that Bae Wonyoung would leave him, and that he would die if that happened. "So, I’m warning you, Lee Heeju— touch Bae Wonyoung again, and I’ll make you regret it."

"ARE you trying to kill me with your pheromones, Yun Dujun?"

Naturally, Yun Dujun ignored Spencer Choi’s complaint.

Right now, he was in the passenger seat while the CEO was driving his own car.

Since Bae Wonyoung left with his car, he had no choice but to ride with Spencer Choi. Well, he could have asked someone to fetch him (it was a gated community, so calling a taxi would be a hassle).

But since Spencer Choi was there, he just rode with him.

"I’m sorry, Hyung. I can’t calm down right now," Yun Dujun said, his eyes glued to the phone. He was busy tracking his car. Fortunately, it seemed like Bae Wonyoung was really headed to his old apartment. "Please understand. I’m about to lose my mind here."

Spencer Choi let out a sigh. "I can’t believe Lee Heeju revealed the truth to Bae Wonyoung."

"My husband isn’t a liar."

"I’m not saying Wonyoung-ssi is a liar— I’m saying I can’t believe what Lee Heeju just did. It was out of his character to sabotage your relationship. Yes, he has feelings for you. But if he were going to destroy your relationship with Bae Wonyoung, he should have done that earlier."

"Maybe he did that because he noticed that my relationship with Bae Wonyoung has turned serious already."

"Ah, that makes sense," Spencer Choi said, pausing for a moment. "Good job controlling your anger. Based on how stinky your pheromones are, I wouldn’t have been surprised if you became violent. But thank goodness you didn’t beat up Lee Heeju."

"I almost did, but for our friendship’s sake, I held back. It would be the last time, though." Yun Dujun paused for a moment. "Plus, I can’t blame Lee Heeju entirely. Had I not used Bae Wonyoung for my method acting, or had I told him the truth from the start, then none of this would have happened."

"I’m glad that you know that. I don’t like telling people ’I told you so,’ but you already know that you should have listened to us, right?"

Yeah.

Spencer Choi and Coach Kwon Taeyoo both tried to convince Yun Dujun not to use Bae Wonyoung for his method acting.

Only Lee Heeju was supportive of his decision at the time.

He thought Lee Heeju was just being a loyal friend, but now he knew that it wasn’t the case.

But, as he said earlier, he had no right to blame Lee Heeju.

This is all because of me and my stupidity.

"Hyung, what should I do now?"

"What else, Dujun-ah?" Spencer Choi sighed and shook his head. "Get on your knees and beg for Wonyoung-ssi’s forgiveness as soon as he’s ready to see you."

"But do I really just have to wait until he’s ready? I don’t want him to think that I’m already giving up on us."

"I know you’ve only played pushy male leads in the past, but that’s not how it works in real life. Wonyoung-ssi asked for time and space, so you have to respect that. You’ll only piss him off if you show up when he already told you to wait."

"But I feel restless, Hyung."

"You’re feeling restless, but Wonyoung-ssi just got his heart broken."

Oh.

Spencer Choi was right.

I hurt Wonyoung-ah.

Now Yun Dujun wanted to punch himself.

"I know you’re also hurting, but that’s nothing compared to what Wonyoung-ssi is going through right now. So, just be patient," Spencer Choi said, extending his hand to gently pat Yun Dujun on the head. "But you can send him a message. Ask if he has gone home safely. That and only that— don’t bombard him with text messages."

Haaah.

To be honest, Yun Dujun was itching to call Bae Wonyoung and send him text messages every five minutes.

But it was about time he listened to people around him.

I didn’t listen to them, so here I am now.

"Alright, Hyung," Yun Dujun said obediently. "I’ll just send one message for now."

***

AH, the plan worked.

That what was on An Baekya’s mind while watching Bae Wonyoung cry on the bed.

His foster father came home earlier, just right after Bae Gayoung left the house to go to school.

Bae Wonyoung hadn’t said a word yet.

Appa just lay down on my bed, with his face buried in the pillow, and started crying his heart out.

Of course, An Baekya just drank his warm milk while sitting on the chair next to the bed.

"Baekya?"

Aigoo.

An Baekya clicked his tongue internally when he heard Bae Wonyoung’s hoarse voice.

The older Omega’s voice turned that way because he had been crying for an hour now.

"What is it, Appa?"

"I’ve made up my mind," Bae Wonyoung said, his voice still rough. Then he lifted his head— showing An Baekya his puffy red eyes, snot, and simply his entire ugly crying. "I’m going to divorce Dujun Hyung— for real, this time."

An Baekya wouldn’t say that he was surprised.

The divorce is inevitable.

There were things from the past that were meant to repeat in the current timeline, after all.

But would Bae Wonyoung go on a custody war against Yun Dujun?
