I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 93: Whispers of War and Shifting Shapes
Chapter 93: Whispers of War and Shifting Shapes
Philip tried hard to control himself. His energy form became solid again. The strong sadness that had briefly taken him over went away. A quiet and serious determination replaced it.
"But," he said his voice a bit stronger now "in these past hundred years I have been alone and hiding I have learned many things. I have learned how to choose a human host. I have learned how to gently guide them. And I have learned many new things about this Lower Dimension this human world. By living among humans watching their ways I too have become stronger in my own way."
A small spark of hope a faint but steady light appeared in his dark obsidian eyes. "I have faith," he continued his voice soft but sure "that when our Prince finally arrives I will be of some use to him. I will be able to help him. And I believe... I must believe... that our Prince will help me. He will help me rescue Maya from those terrible beings who took her from me."
Adam became silent. His mind was like a whirlwind full of new information and old half-forgotten feelings. Philip’s hope his desperate faith in this Prince who was supposed to come was very strong. Adam could feel it. Adam found himself thinking with a strange strong feeling Prince... who are you? What are you meant to do?
The scene around them suddenly changed.
The subconscious plane with its endless green grass and clear blue sky disappeared. It melted away like a dream. The new place they were in was a vast round hall. The way it was built was grand and impressive. But it was covered in a dark oppressive gloom an unnatural darkness that felt heavy and wrong.
In the very center of this huge hall stood a tall white statue. It was beautifully carved from what looked like limestone or white marble. The statue was of an Elven maiden a young woman with pointed ears.
Her face was calm and peaceful yet it also looked powerful. In one of her hands she held a long thin bow.
The string of the bow was pulled tight as if she was ready to shoot an arrow. Her other hand was stretched out palm open. From her open palm a sculpted ball of fire seemed to burst out. Its flames were frozen in place as if time had stopped.
The whole statue even though it was just stone seemed to give off a feeling of ancient power and grace.
Arranged in a circle around this central statue on a slightly raised platform were nine fancy seats. Nine figures sat in these seats. Their faces and their features were completely hidden by the deep dark shadows that clung to them like thick cloaks. Only their outlines their silhouettes could be seen. These outlines hinted at shapes that were mostly human-like but some looked... different.
In front of these nine shadowed figures stood three individuals. They were bathed in the dim faint light of the hall. Two of them were Elves and one was a Demon.
The Demon was a striking and terrifying figure to look at. It wore stark black clothes that seemed to drink in the little light there was making it look even darker. Its skin was a flat sooty black color all over. Its eyes were a piercing scary red. They glowed faintly in the gloom.
A long black whip-like tail with a sharp arrow-shaped tip at the end twitched and moved restlessly behind it. Impressive horns that spiraled upwards grew from its head.
They reached high above its dark form. Its sharp pointed teeth like those of a hunting animal stuck out slightly from its lips. This gave it a look as if it was always snarling or angry.
Standing on either side of the Demon were the two Elven women. They were exceptionally tall. Their bodies were slender and graceful. Yet they gave off an aura a feeling of cold dangerous beauty.
Their hair was a stark startling white color. It flowed down their backs like waterfalls of frozen snow. Their faces were sharp and aristocratic with high cheekbones and fine noses.
But their faces were completely without any warmth or kindness. They looked identical. They were clearly twins.
One of the Elven twins the one standing on the left side of the Demon stepped forward a little. She spoke her voice clear and melodic like music.
But it was also chillingly empty of any emotion any feeling at all.
"My Lord Apostles," she began.
Her gaze was fixed on the nine shadowed figures sitting on the raised platform above them.
"All those Spirits who had not yet formed any kind of contract with a human or bonded with a host in any way have been... taken care of. They had hidden themselves very well but our reach is long. We found them."
From the shadowed platform one of the nine figures one of the Apostles spoke. Its voice was deep and resonant. It carried a definite weight of authority a power that seemed to make the very stone of the hall vibrate slightly.
"Very well," the Apostle rumbled. Its voice was like distant thunder. "Then it is time. We shall now turn our full attention our complete focus to the human realm. We will focus on the last remaining continent there that has not yet fully felt our influence our control."
The Apostle continued its voice a low menacing thrum like a giant angry bee.
"Our dominion our rule has spread throughout all the Elven dimensions. The Demon realms now dance to the tune of our puppet king there. He does what we tell him. In the human dimension all the other continents have been... suitably destabilized. We have plunged them into the chaos we have so carefully created. Only one continent remains. It is vast and sprawling and it is largely untouched by our direct efforts. That continent is now our primary target. It is where we will strike next."
A different Apostle its voice slightly higher pitched but no less imposing or powerful than the first one interjected. "If the old Spirit prophecy holds any truth if it is not just an old tale then it is on that very continent that their ’Prince’ is destined to be born. Or he is destined to emerge to reveal himself within a few short years from now. We must act with speed. We cannot afford to delay."
Another shadowed figure spoke. Its voice was dry and rasping like the sound of dry leaves blowing across stone. "Indeed. This is a rare coming together of events. If that prophesied Prince is given even a little bit of time even a moment to gather his strength and to rally the scattered leftover members of his kind he will become... a problem. He will be very problematic for our plans. He will undoubtedly seek to get revenge for his ancestors for his ’Kings’ and for all the other Spirits we have... neutralized taken out of the way."
One of the Apostles its form barely visible within the oppressive darkness of the hall extended a shadowy arm or tentacle. Three crystalline rings each pulsing with a faint internal light floated down from the raised platform. They hovered in the air before the Demon and the two Elven twins.
The Demon and the Elves immediately bowed their heads low. It was a gesture of deep respect and obedience. They each reached out and carefully took one of the glowing rings. They slipped the rings onto their fingers.
The moment the rings settled onto their skin a startling transformation began. The features of the three figures the Demon and the two Elves started to shift. Their forms began to blur and then reform into something new.
The terrifying Demon with its black skin its glowing red eyes and its thrashing whip-like tail began to shrink. Its demonic features started to recede to fade away. Its impressive horns retracted back into its head. Its long tail vanished as if it had never been there. Its sooty black skin lightened becoming pale. In just a few moments the fearsome demonic entity was completely gone.
In its place stood a human youth. He appeared to be no more than eighteen years of age perhaps even younger. His skin was now a light healthy brown color. He was now dressed in simple yet well-made blue clothes very different from the dark robes he had worn as a Demon. He looked entirely human. His piercing red eyes were now a normal dark brown color.
He flexed his now-human hands looking down at himself with a mixture of surprise and a dawning predatory smile. The smile was still a little bit scary. The transformation was complete. He was now a perfect disguise a human shell.
