Chapter 283: The Storm Finally Arrived.

Everyone inside the grand hall was stunned, looking at the departing back of the Dust Valley Sect.

Among the clan leaders and sect masters, some squinted; a flash of worry appeared on their faces.

But quickly they masked it with indifference.

Among the Qiu clan, their faces were filled with confusion. They did not know whether to follow the Dust Valley Sect or wait and continue with the banquet.

They had yet to discuss how to handle the Evil Sect and, most importantly, how to leave the continent.

Every decade, they planned how to explore the various boundaries of their continent, although they had been trying for many centuries with no positive result.

They were not ready to give up.

While the clan master and elders were indecisive about how to react to Mo Jian and the Dust Valley Sect’s departure.

Qiu Yan urged her father. "Father, let’s go immediately."

Hmm?

Her father turned and looked at his daughter. Watching the seriousness on her face, he realized his daughter must know something.

"Clan leader, let’s leave," he said to the clan leader.

The clan leader looked at their second uncle for a moment before he nodded. They are now in alliance with the Dust Valley Sect. For the alliance to be strong, they need to show a semblance of trust.

Quickly, the clan master rose to his feet. "Sorry, everyone, we have to depart. Hope to see everyone at the next decade’s summit."

Everyone inside the hall was stunned. They never expected the ancient Qiu clan would follow the decision of a nameless sect.

They might be in alliance; shouldn’t the nameless sect follow their command, not the other way around?

The Qiu clan’s leader did not care what the people thought as he led his clan out of the hall. Right now, like everyone else, he wanted to find out what was going on.

The Yun clan master wore an ugly expression. He exchanged a subtle glance with the Lotus Sword Sect Master, and they saw the confusion on each other’s faces.

Confused, he was still furious at Mo Jian and the Dust Valley Sect. If they knew anything, they should have announced it to everyone.

He thought of anything that might allow him to rush out of the banquet but could not think of anything.

Thus, he vowed to teach them a lesson after the gathering.

"Everyone, you don’t have to care about them. Let the banquet continue." He announced with a light smile. "I assure they would regret missing this year’s banquet."

The others nodded in agreement, and slowly the banquet continued. The fake laughter and sound of cups echoed continuously in the grand hall.

Meanwhile, outside the Yun palace, Mo Jian waited a hundred meters from the gate.

The Qiu clan carriage rode out of the gate, heading toward him. A couple of meters from him, the carriage stopped and the clan master came down with the second uncle.

"Kid, tell me what is going on?" Qiu Yan’s father asked directly.

The clan master also nodded. He needed a direct answer. He had put his clan name on the line for following him.

Mo Jian knew what was going on and nodded. "Very well. The Evil Sect has acted. They have opened many gateways to the netherworld around the continent."

Hmm!!

Qiu Yan’s father could not believe his ears, while the clan master, though shocked, creased his brow in confusion.

How did he know?

As a powerful ancient clan, their intelligence network could not be underestimated. Yet they were not informed of anything.

"I know you might find it hard to believe. You can ask Qiu Yan, and she will show you our communication artifact."

"But that is not important right now. What is important is to be prepared. My region has already found three netherworld gateways."

"In the Southern region, there are already over five gateways. You can imagine how many gateways would appear in the central region." His voice was grave.

"Is this true?" Qiu Yan’s father couldn’t help but ask. His voice trembled.

"Do I look like I will joke with such a grave matter?" Mo Jian fired back, his voice filled with impatience.

"Give this to Qiu Yan; she will know how to use it." He gave her father a Platinum Grade Spirit Link.

Holding the spirit link, the two were confused.

"You must not allow anyone to know about the artifact. Not now. This is very important."

"That is it. I’m going. We’re returning to the Western Region immediately," he said and turned, leaving with large strides.

"Don’t trust anyone. My instinct tells me there are people working with the Evil Sects among the ancient forces and clans in the capital."

With that, he entered the carriage and departed. Watching the speed of the carriage, they realized Mo Jian was not kidding.

"Second Uncle..." The Clan Leader turned and looked at Qiu Yan’s father with his face filled with shock.

The Evil Sects had been dormant for many decades. Why would they choose to act now?

Although he found it hard to believe, Mo Jian’s grave expression told of something different.

Qiu Yan’s father did not respond. He turned and rushed to the carriage. He needed to speak with his daughter.

Quickly, he explained everything Mo Jian told them. Listening to it, Qiu Yan’s expression turned pale immediately.

"Father, you have to act immediately. Since I know him, he never jokes. Everything he said is true," she said quickly.

"I can see that. Then, what about this?" He said, showing the Spirit Link.

Looking at the different Spirit Link, she was stunned for a moment but quickly took it from her father.

She activated the spirit link and was stunned how different it was from the Gold Grade Spirit Link.

She was amazed by the Dust Valley Sect’s ability to create something magical, but she recovered quickly.

Suddenly, a notification appeared on the screen. Although she had not used it before, looking at the lifelike image, she reached out to touch it.

Immediately, the notification opened and a shocking image appeared on the screen.

"Father!" She screamed.

Hmm?!

Her father was confused but looked at what she was pointing at.

On the strange artifact, he saw endless vengeful spirits that made his hair stand on end.

"This!" Fear gripped his heart, but he recovered. "Hide the artifact immediately and don’t talk to anyone." He said with a solemn voice before he walked to the clan leader.

"We need to return to the clan immediately."

"Hmm? Is it true?"

"Yes, and it’s worse than we thought," he added with a grave expression.
