In Another World, All Milfs Will Be Mine-Chapter 148: [ - - ] - Thank You!
"Awww my cutie Master! Don’t worry, I will be docile tonight. You can show me how strong you are then." Belladonna leaned in to give Leo a kiss on his cheeks. The girl could never get enough of him.
"But for now, there are more coming," Belladonna said, turning to the door.
And she was right, the hallway was a chaos.
Shadow was fighting three men at once near the stairs on her own.
She was holding her ground with her fast, agile motion, but she was being pushed back.
She was strong, but the assassins were no joke.
"Why don’t you go help her!" Leo asked Belladonna.
"I won’t leave you," Belladonna argued.
"She will get killed at this rate," Leo said, "And then you will have to fight them on your own."
"But!" Belladonna hesitated.
"Just go and get it done," Leo sighed, "This has dragged for long enough."
Belladonna thought for a fraction of a second, then nodded.
And like a flash, leaving a blur of afterimages behind her, she was behind one of the assassins attacking Shadow.
"My master says it’s enough," Belladonna said and impaled her dagger 🗡️ in his neck from the side, nailing him to the wall.
Leo moved to the doorway, peering out. He needed to see. He needed to know the situation.
And that was a mistake.
Another assassin had climbed the outer wall. He swung in through the shattered window behind them like a silent ghost.
"Leo! Behind you!" Seraphine screamed.
Leo spun around, and saw the assassin was mid-air with a dagger aimed right for his neck.
Leo saw the blade descend and in that moment he felt his death inching closer to him. He wanted to dodge, but without the System’s buff, he was just a man with his neck out to get chopped.
His legs felt like lead. He stumbled backward, his feet tangling in the thick velvet rug, and he started falling on his back, as he stared at his death descending upon him.
I can’t move. I am too slow.
The assassin landed in front of Leo, his dagger dropping to plunge into Leo’s heart.
But...
CRASH! 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
A heavy porcelain vase shattered against the assassin’s shoulder.
Seraphine had lunged forward with the nearest heavy object she could find. It wasn’t enough to hurt the assassin, but it did ruin his balance. The dagger missed Leo’s heart, slicing a deep, jagged line across his forearm instead.
"Ah!" Leo hissed, clutching the wound as he fell on his back.
"You Bitch!" The assassin roared, slapping Seraphine by the back of his hand. She flew back, hitting the dresser with a thud.
"Dumb whore. You dare!" The assassin spat, ignoring her to refocus on his primary target. He stepped on Leo’s ankle to pin him down, "Now die you bastard."
’Isn’t it too soon?’ Leo stared at the blade and thought to himself.
THWUCK!
Before the Assassin could kill Leo, a pointed head of an arrow bolt sliced its way out of the assassin’s chest.
Seraphine was slumped against the dresser, holding the small hand-crossbow Caelum had kept for ’emergencies’. Her hands were shaking violently, blood trickling from her lip where she’d been hit, but she had pulled the trigger.
The assassin looked down at the head, then turned to look at Seraphine, "Nice... Sh..." The assassin fall flat on his face dead.
"The guy meant... Nice... shot," Leo breathed, his chest heaving.
"I was aiming for his head," Seraphine admitted, dropping the crossbow.
"Well I am alive," Leo said, winking at seraphine, "Because of you."
"Hmmm... I didn’t want him to touch you," Seraphine said, "Even I can save you!"
She jumped over the fallen chair as she walked over to Leo.
"You... You are bleeding. God! You are bleeding," She tore a strip from her nightgown.
And at this moment, the sounds of fighting in the hallway intensified. If anyone else got in here, he was dead weight.
He limped to the door, leaning heavily on the frame.
What he saw took his breath away.
Belladonna was a storm. But the assassins were desperate.
"Get the target! Forget the bitch!" one of the assassins yelled.
Two men broke away from the fight with Shadow, sprinting down the hallway straight for Leo.
Leo stiffened. He raised his fists, but he knew it was a bluff. He couldn’t stop them.
The lead assassin raised a sword, closing the distance in seconds. But the sword never came.
When he opened his eyes. Belladonna was standing in front of him.
She had tackled the lead assassin into the opposite wall with a bone-crunching impact.
"No one touches him!" Belladonna narrowed her eyes, warning the assassins.
She drove her knee into the man’s groin and slashed his throat before his body even hit the floor. The second assassin tried to step around her to get to Leo.
Belladonna didn’t even look. She caught the second man’s blade with her bare hand just to stop his momentum.
"Bella!" Leo shouted in concern.
But Belladonna didn’t care about the pain. She yanked the assassin closer by his own sword and drove her other dagger up under his chin, piercing his brain.
She stood up, surrounded by groaning, dying men. She was covered in blood, and none of it was hers. She stood directly in front of Leo’s door, a human shield that refused to break.
"Is that all?" She spoke, flicking blood from her daggers, "Volkov paid for the cheap ones!"
A final assassin, the leader by the looks of his gear, charged her. He was big, wielding a two-handed greatsword. He swung it in a massive arc, aiming to cleave her in half.
But instead of moving away, Belladonna moved inside the arc of the swing, pressing her body against his. The greatsword hit the wall, sparks flying. Before the man could recover, Belladonna buried both her daggers into his chest, right through the leather armor, piercing his lungs.
"You dare eye my man? I should have gauged your eyes," She whispered in his ear as he died, then shoved him away, "But I want you to know why you died."
And just like that, the hallway went silent. There were about a dozen of dead bodies littered on the floor.
Shadow was leaning against the wall, clutching a shallow wound on her shoulder, breathing hard but smiling. Belladonna stood amidst the carnage, her chest heaving slightly.
She looked up and saw Leo watching her.
The fierce, murderous look in her eyes softened instantly. She walked over to him, stepping over the corpses as if they were puddles.
"Just so easy," She grinned, but then her gaze fell on his bandaged arm and she frowned, "You got hurt."
"A small scratch," Leo said. He looked at her. Really looked at her.
For the last few weeks, he had thought of Belladonna as a conquest. A quest reward. A trophy to be broken and bedded. He had enjoyed her submission, her body, her title.
But watching her now, standing in a hallway painted with the blood of men who wanted him dead, he realized something else.
She was his shield.
Without her, he would be a corpse on the rug right now. Without Seraphine’s crossbow, he would be dead. Without Shadow’s loyalty, they would have been overrun.
His harem wasn’t just a collection of holes to fuck. They were his lifeline. They were the reason he was breathing.
A new feeling welled up in his chest. It wasn’t lust. It wasn’t dominance. It was gratitude. Fierce, burning gratitude.
"Thank you," Leo whispered, reaching out with his uninjured hand to cup Belladonna’s blood-splattered cheek.
Belladonna blinked, surprised by the tenderness. She leaned into his touch, closing her eyes, "I exist to serve you, Master. My body, my blade... it’s all yours."
"I know," Leo said. He looked at Seraphine, who was standing beside him, pale but resolute, "I know."
