Infinite Origin Summoner:Rise of Good for Nothing Extra-Chapter 35: Victory and Rewards
Well done challenger, you have impressed me..!
The high goblin king had a serious expression on his face. The disdain from earlier had completely vanished.
In a matter of minutes, Zarek and his summons had slaughtered his soldiers like cattle. It was at this time that the king decided things couldn’t go on like this and finally took action himself.
Meanwhile, the eyes of the high goblin princess never left Zarek’s figure, a strange look appearing in her eyes.
Zarek could also feel her gaze and couldn’t stop himself from feeling disgusted.
He didn’t care about the king or who the newcomers were. To him, all the creatures present here were his enemies that he needed to kill.
Without another word, he raised his hand to signal Misery Prime to continue charging.
"Hmm! Arrogant..."
The high goblin king coldly snorted, anger flaring in his eyes. For the first time, a human dared to ignore his words.
"You are quite proud of your many summons," the high goblin king continued as he scanned the Miseries ruthlessly charging toward his soldiers.
Then he paused for a brief moment, a cold smirk tugging at the corners of his lips: "Let me tell you why quantity can never beat quality..."
Before he had even finished speaking, a strange surge of current started to swirl around the high goblin’s figure, slowly engulfing him in a fierce storm.
Witnessing this scene, Zarek’s eyes immediately narrowed, and a bad feeling rose in his heart.
Is this mana pool manifestation...?
In the world of Beyond Good and Evil, when a mana pool grew to a certain extent, it could start influencing external objects, similar to gravity.
Compared to gravity, its effect could be devastating. A warrior with a large enough mana pool could simply crush other warriors to a bloody pulp.
Just as he was thinking, the Misery who was closest to the high goblin king exploded into a shower of mana particles.
Zarek showed no reaction to the loss of the summon. Why would he care? After all, he could simply summon another Misery once more. After all, the Miseries present in battle were nothing more than avatars of the originals present in his spiritual space.
However, this was only the start, as in the next moment more than ten Miseries simultaneously burst into particles of light.
This time Zarek’s eyes finally showed ripples. After all, ten Miseries were more than twenty percent of the total.
If he used the mana pool to summon them again, it would take a lot of mana.
So he immediately realized he needed to finish the battle fast and quick.
Next moment his eyes flashed with intense white light and he mentally issued the command:
"Misery Prime, finish him!"
As if waiting for this command, Misery Prime let out wild laughter. Holding the Bloodseeker sword in his hand, it immediately started running toward the high goblin king.
"Tch!" The high goblin king merely snorted in disdain, questioning Zarek’s intelligence. This goblin was clearly the same as others—what would it even be able to achieve?
Next moment, without wasting time, Misery Prime wildly yelled: "Die!" and slashed his sword.
The thick killing intent radiated from Misery Prime’s eyes seemed to have materialized, and a thick red arc shot out from the Bloodseeker sword.
However, before the attack could even get close to the high goblin king, it disintegrated, simply puffed out of existence.
"Die, foolish creature!" The high goblin king flicked his wrist and a bolt of lightning thick as a person’s waist fell from the sky, directly hitting Misery Prime’s head.
Thick smoke filled the air. It appeared Misery Prime immediately combusted upon contact with the lightning bolt.
The high goblin king looked in Zarek’s direction with a slightly prideful look and declared: "Human challenger, now quickly accept your fate!"
Zarek however didn’t care about him. His eyes locked on the spot where Misery Prime had been standing a moment ago.
To the high goblin king, it looked as if Zarek was indeed in a state of extreme shock, not expecting Misery Prime to suddenly die.
Meanwhile, unknown to him, standing beside him, his daughter looked at Zarek with a look that was difficult to decipher.
No one could exactly tell what she was thinking.
Just at this moment, the smoke cleared and a terrifying war cry filled the surroundings.
Misery Prime emerged out of the smoke completely unscathed. Only there were minor scratches on his golden armor.
"Impossible!" The high goblin king shouted with his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
Zarek didn’t care about his shock. To him it was only expected—after all, he had dumped more than fifty stat points into Misery’s physique.
Right now, hidden beneath the golden armor was a body that could take on the mightiest of blows.
However, at this time, it was not only Misery Prime who had more than sixty points in physique, but all the fifty Miseries as well.
Zarek simply shook his head and said no more except a single word: 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Charge...!"
This single word echoed in the foggy space like a divine declaration.
The other high goblins could only watch as their king was surrounded from all sides. Even if they wanted to rush forward to stop the Miseries, it was too late now.
The high goblin king’s eyes widened in horror as he realized he couldn’t kill the oncoming wave of goblins with his mana manifestation.
"Stop... right there... you can’t kill me!"
"Do you know how much I sacrificed... for a single chance at freedom?!"
No one paid heed to him and in the next moment, a head was sent flying in the air.
The high goblin princess who was some distance away finally came to her senses when her father’s head rolled on the ground and hit her feet.
Strangely however, the Miseries didn’t move near her, as if avoiding her.
Zarek watched everything play out and with passing time, the number of high goblins slowly continued to reduce until there was none left except the high princess herself.
Of course, Zarek had purposely spared her. She was more useful alive than dead.
Meanwhile, his army of Miseries stood some distance away, obedient, waiting for his next command.
Zarek was immediately satisfied by their actions. Next moment his eyes landed on the lone high goblin standing in the distance, his lips curling upward.
It was time to ask some questions.
The high goblin princess seemed to have felt his gaze and immediately backed away while clutching her chest.
"What do you want from me?"
An expression of total panic on her face.
Zarek frowned, not understanding her action. Did she really think he was that kind of person?
He had no interest in hoes, much less a hoe of an alien female who wasn’t even that beautiful.
Just as he was about to start asking questions, a series of blue windows popped up in front of him:
[Congratulations, challenger, for winning the Ultimate Battle of Fate. As the first person in this world’s history to achieve this feat, you have been rewarded with an inventory.]
[Please select from one of the rewards below:]
[Reward 1 - One stat crystal; any random stat would be increased randomly]
[Reward 2 - A fragment of mysterious rune]
[Reward 3 - Bloodline enhancement fluid]
Three rewards... It would be an understatement to say Zarek wasn’t surprised. He was expecting a reward after winning the battle but not something like this. And finally the inventory—he had never imagined to get something like this.
He was so lost in thought that he completely forgot about the high goblin princess.
Which to choose... The choice was very difficult. Each of the rewards enticed him. He was most familiar with the stat crystals. In the world of Beyond Good and Evil, there was a limit to which most individuals could grow.
No matter how much one tried, it was difficult for someone with a regular grade class to reach numbers similar to Zarek’s.
However, nothing was absolute. If you could get your hands on stat crystals, then an individual could easily break the limit.
So Zarek without a doubt wanted to choose the stat crystal, but the third reward made him reconsider.
With this, fighting power would increase drastically. Having personally fought the high goblin king, he knew just how formidable he was. If Miseries could also get his bloodline, the change would be qualitative.
And as for the second reward, he was least interested.
So after thinking for a long amount of time, Zarek finally decided to go with the bloodline. Although the stat crystals were rare, he could get some in the future, but there might be no chance to evolve bloodline in the future.
As soon as he made his choice, the reward menu vanished.
[Bloodline enhancement fluid has been added to your inventory.]
[Please continue to work hard and win even more battles of ultimate fate.]
Meanwhile, the high princess watched Zarek blankly staring into the air with panic on her face.
Zarek might not know it, but in high goblin tradition, the females of the defeated warriors belonged to the winner.
High Princess Zerin had seen her father defeat countless tribes and get their women as prizes.
As such, her thoughts were understandable.
