Infinite Origin Summoner:Rise of Good for Nothing Extra-Chapter 36: Escape from the Dungeon
"Everyone, look! The rift is closing!"
Fatty Alexander jumped excitedly and pointed his finger at the rift which suddenly had started to shrink.
However, the faces of the other two darkened. The rift was closing but there was no sign of Zarek anywhere.
They couldn’t stop themselves from coming to a dark conclusion:
Could it be he fell...
Although extremely depressing, death in an unknown place was extremely common.
Just as they were busy thinking, a red window flashed in their vision:
[The outcome of the battle of ultimate fate has been decided. As such, this dungeon will close permanently.]
[Awakeners, please prepare yourselves. In one minute you will be transported out of the dungeon.]
Understanding the implication behind those messages, Brian was completely stunned. Not just him—even White Death’s eyes threatened to burst out of their sockets.
If the messages were to be believed, the dungeon would close permanently. This was an unprecedented event that had never happened before.
Although the dungeons were large treasure troves, they were also a kind of hidden danger. After all, no one knew when a dungeon break could occur.
But if the dungeon was gone, there would be no threat of dungeon break and everyone could leave in peace.
White Death, feeling happy, also felt an unprecedented sense of emptiness in her heart. She couldn’t even begin to imagine a world without dungeons.
Just then the space some distance away trembled as if someone was trying to break the very fabric of space.
Next moment, a tear appeared in the space followed by the appearance of a young man with a confused look.
This young man was none other than Zarek. However, there was no sign of Miseries anywhere.
Zarek had dismissed them in order to get out of the strange space.
This wasn’t what confused him but something else—even after the foggy space was destroyed, a high goblin had followed him outside.
Princess Zerin looked at her surroundings with an awe-looking look in her eyes.
Ever since she was born, she had been trapped in that hellish place, unable to go out, suffering the torture every day.
Feeling the fresh air of the twentieth floor filling her lungs, Zerin felt a sense of complete freedom.
She was finally starting to understand why her father was willing to go to any length to achieve this so-called freedom.
Suddenly she felt a sense of wetness. Surprised, she raised her hand only to realize at some point tears had appeared at the corner of her eyes, slowly sliding down her cheeks.
Alexander, White Death, Brian, and even Zarek who were watching Zerin with vigilance were surprised, not expecting a fearsome monster to suddenly start crying.
Suddenly they didn’t know what to say.
Zarek realized there were a lot of things he didn’t know.
So in silence, all five of them waited for the countdown to end so they could be sent out of the dungeon.
Zarek’s eyes couldn’t help but fill with anticipation. After so long, the restriction would be gone and he could finally speak.
His thoughts automatically wandered—how long had it been since he first arrived in this world?
Zarek was sure it was no more than a few hours, yet he had managed to grow to this extent.
Then he started to think about all the useless things, like what he was going to do now.
Out of nowhere, the face of a blonde man smiling proudly appeared in his head.
Zarek couldn’t remember that guy’s name, but he was sure that he should have successfully transmigrated and might be even showing off the powers that he had gotten from the god.
Meanwhile, White Death also kept looking in Zarek’s direction. Now that the dungeon was cleared, the restriction would also be gone, and she could finally ask him about her sister’s whereabouts.
Brian Dreamwalker’s eyes also flashed with emotion. For a moment he almost thought that he would miss his brother’s birthday for the first time.
Alexander on the other hand looked completely lost. Ever since growing up, he heard just how mighty and majestic awakeners were—living like kings and bathing in wealth—but it was only today that he realized just how dreadful the lives of awakeners could be.
If before he only felt jealous of the awakeners, there was also a deep sense of admiration for them in his heart.
While thinking, his eyes unconsciously moved toward Zarek, the calm and confident young master of the Silversword family.
Alexander couldn’t stop himself from shaking his head. After listening to the conversation between White Death and Brian, he had managed to piece a few things about this young man who had first saved him.
While he struggled for food every day on the streets, this man lived like a king in a major family.
He didn’t know why, but suddenly Alexander felt the urge to change the world for the better.
No one should spend their childhood like him.
Zarek could feel the gazes of two individuals, but he couldn’t care less about them. Not now, when he was constantly fighting for his life in this godforsaken dungeon.
Without even realizing, the one-minute countdown was over in the blink of an eye, and soon the five of them felt their perception change, then the world turned dark.
Meanwhile, the crowd was in absolute panic. The earth was shaking and lightning thundered in the sky. It looked as if the apocalypse was coming.
"What is happening? Could it be a dungeon break is about to occur?"
Some couldn’t stop themselves from considering—dungeon break was always a possibility.
Realizing this, some people gritted their teeth and escaped. Although they wanted revenge, their lives were most important.
Moreover, if the dungeon break was occurring, there was no way that bastard Zarek would have managed to survive.
In a matter of minutes, less than one-tenth of the original people left. The only ones who chose to stay behind were those people who had irrevocable hatred with Zarek that could only end when they saw his dead body with their own two eyes.
Just then, the shaking finally stopped and everything returned to normal.
All the ten people present—three females and seven males—looked toward the entrance with a hint of solemnity in their eyes.
At any time, a horde of monsters could come charging in their direction.
However, moments passed and there was no sign of monsters. Just as they were feeling confused, the space in front of the dungeon entrance shook, followed by the appearance of five figures.
Immediately, an ear-piercing cry filled the surroundings: "It’s you, bastard!"
Zarek was merely looking around when he heard a shout filled with resentment aimed at him.
However, after a glance he stopped paying attention. None of the people present seemed to pose any threat to him.
This attitude of Zarek’s seemed to have further enraged the crowd present.
"Although I don’t know how you managed to survive, don’t even think about leaving this place alive!"
A middle-aged man missing one of his arms and with severe burns on his left cheek rushed toward Zarek’s direction.
However, before he could get near Zarek, someone jumped in between the two of them.
"Stop right there, you human!"
Zerin looked at the middle-aged man with a cold and emotionless look. Although she didn’t know why this middle-aged man hated Zarek so much, she didn’t care. She was now Zarek’s woman and no one was allowed to harm him.
Blessed with the bloodline of high goblins, Zerin was easily six feet tall and towered over the middle-aged man. Seeing her, the middle-aged man halted and the hatred in his eyes even intensified.
"As expected of the devil Zarek! He had even dared to collude with the monsters!"
By now the rest of them also managed to react. The aura radiated by Zerin was fearsome.
Given Zarek’s personality, they had no doubt about the middle-aged man’s claims. No matter how absurd they sounded, as long as the devil Zarek was involved, there was a possibility they were true.
Just like Zarek, no one else paid attention to the crowd. White Death and Brian even looked slightly dissatisfied after hearing their words.
No matter what, they felt grateful to Zarek for saving them. If it wasn’t for him, they might have been trapped inside the dungeon for all eternity.
Brian looked at everyone and said while smiling: "Everyone, I am in a hurry as it’s my younger brother’s birthday today. I have to rush back—he must be waiting for me."
The others simply nodded, showing no objections to his words.
If Brian wanted to leave, how could they even stop him?
Just as Brian was about to walk away, Zarek, thinking of something, called out:
"Here, take this..."
Brian stopped and without thinking extended his hand, only to see the sword which he had given earlier being returned to him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Brian suddenly didn’t know what to say. He only gave Zarek a deep look before leaving without saying anything.
And in the blink of an eye, Brian completely disappeared from the ruins.
Leaving behind Alexander and White Death.
Zarek could tell White Death wanted to ask him something. He gave her a look that said "wait a minute."
Then he slowly made his way toward the crowd. First, he needed to deal with them or they wouldn’t let him talk in peace.
