Chapter 100: Battle For The Ultimate Evolution!

Vogue’s eyes narrowed as he stared upward at the young man.

The young man was perfectly still, his gaze locked directly with Vogue and he looked as though he was staring at an insect he had found crawling on the floor.

This was Xander Grimm, but Vogue had absolutely no idea who he was.

But even without knowing the name or reputation, Vogue’s instincts rang loud. He didn’t know anyone could actually float in the air without using a winged technique nor telekinesis.

Vogue had learned to trust his instincts during countless life-or-death situations, and right now this youth was incredibly dangerous.

From the corner of his eyes, a sudden movement attracted his attention and his countenance turned cold.

Coming from streets far in the distance were about one hundred people moving together as they cleared the radiants in their path as easy as cutting through grass.

And the murderous intent radiating from the entire group was intense and even with th distance he fould feel the killing intent locked in him like a mountain on his shoulder.

"Fuck! How did they find me so fast?" Vogue cursed out loud, his muscles contracting as he turned serious.

He had only been announced as an Ultimate Evolution candidate for a few hours. How had 100 plus players organized themselves so fast and tracked him down so fast?

Did someone in that group have a tracking ability that could pinpoint his position?

There was no time to figure out the answer. The group was approaching quickly, and they were clearly not coming to celebrate his ambition.

Vogue immediately turned and headed deeper into the Macy’s department store.

He started killing the crowd of radiants in the store’s interior with single strokes of his enhanced blade, not wasting any time or energy on extended fights. Every slash kllls one to five radiants each.

One horizontal slash, and three radiants would be severed cleanly into two pieces at chest height, the blade passing through all three bodies in a single smooth motion. Their hearts were cut perfectly in half, ensuring instant death with no chance of regeneration.

[Radiants Eliminated +3]

Another slash, another three dead.

[Radiants Eliminated +3]

He moved through the store like a rotor in a blender of destruction, his blade never stopping and with his infinite stamina, his muscles never gets tired.

——

A young woman appeared in the air beside Xander Grimm, walking gently and gracefully through empty space as though climbing invisible stairs. With each step she took, the space directly underneath her foot rippled like the surface of disturbed water, creating a visible platform for just a moment before it faded.

The young woman had long dark hair tied back in an elaborate braid, sharp intelligent eyes, and wore expensive-looking combat gear that marked her as someone from a wealthy family.

She carried herself with the same casual confidence that Xander displayed.

She arrived beside Xander and stood there in mid-air, both of them looking down at the store below like gods observing mortals.

"He’s more impressive than the first one we killed," the young woman said slight amusement in her tone. "What was his name again? Ah yes, Kai Aurora. That boy barely lasted ten minutes once we found him."

She chuckled softly at the thought.

Divine Son Xander didn’t react but nodded slowly in agreement. His eyes were locked on Vogue’s figure moving rapidly through the store below, rapidly killing radiants with impressive speed and skill.

"His strength is quite impressive for someone from a Nine-star megacity," Xander observed and suddenly spoke.

"He’s already fighting at a level almost equal to Upper Moon Stellar Knights despite not having undergone any evolution yet. That’s unusual."

The girl giggled. "Aren’t you even worse than him?"

Xander didn’t say anything then glanced sideways at the young woman beside him without turning his head. "Have you figured out what abilities he possesses yet?"

The young lady nodded in confirmation, though her expression showed a slight frown of confusion or concern. "One of the protectors has a C-Rank scanning talent and detected several different abilities present in his energy signature."

She paused before continuing. "But the scanning talent could only identify two of them clearly. He definitely has a frost-based talent. He also has some kind of cloning ability that lets him create perfect copies of himself."

"And the third?" Xander prompted.

"There’s something else, something to do with time manipulation," the young woman said, her frown deepening. "But the details aren’t clear at all. The scanning ability couldn’t get a proper read on it, which usually means the talent is either very high grade or very unusual in nature. Possibly both."

Divine Son Xander’s eyes narrowed dangerously at that information. His jaw tightened, and when he spoke, his voice came out as a low growl despite his previous calm demeanor.

"He has eaten one of those Evolution Fruits!"

"Yes," the young woman confirmed. "According to intelligence gathered from other players, he’s the one who stole all three fruits from Elena Hellsgrain and James Sterling. They were fighting over the fruits when he grabbed all three of them using some kind of time-stopping ability, and escaped before either of them could react."

The Divine Son let out a derisive snort. "Elena and James. Those two are trash compared to true elites. The fact that they let a nobody from a third-rate city steal treasures right out from under them is pathetic."

He was silent for a moment, then spoke in a commanding tone. "Inform the hunting group below. They are to take only his head as proof of the kill. His body must be left completely intact and brought to me immediately after death."

The young woman raised an eyebrow. "You want to harvest the Evolution Fruit effects from his corpse?"

"Although my family already possesses a small number of those fruits," Xander said coldly, "it never hurts to contribute additional rare resources. Besides, if he consumed more than one fruit, the accumulated effects in his body will be even more valuable."
