Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 111: Third Dragon Head!
Before Vogue could even react or formulate a plan, the massive silver ape suddenly blurred and vanished from its position on the street below.
In less than a blink of an eye, it had crossed the distance from the ground to the upper floor of the building and appeared directly in front of the clone who was still undergoing the awakening process.
"Such incredible speed!" Vogue’s face changed drastically as he witnessed the movement.
The ape had moved so fast that his enhanced perception could barely track it. One moment it was on the street, the next moment it was right there in the room, standing mere feet away from his vulnerable clone.
Vogue didn’t waste a single second hesitating. He immediately activated both of his dragon bloodlines simultaneously, pushing his transformation to its absolute maximum.
Two massive wings of different colors erupted from his back—one silver representing the Time Dragon and one blue representing the Frost Dragon. The wings spread wide, each one easily two meters in length, their membranes shimmering with power.
Two curved horns grew from his head, one silver and one blue, pointing backward from his skull. His entire body began growing rapidly, expanding from two meters tall to approximately three meters in height. His muscles bulged and thickened as dragon strength flooded through him.
Scales of two different colors covered his entire body like armor. His right side became coated in gleaming silver scales, while his left side was covered in ice-blue scales that radiated cold. Even his face became partially scaled, giving him a fearsome appearance that was barely human anymore.
"Shadow Step!" Vogue activated his movement technique instantly.
He dissolved into shadow and reappeared directly behind his awakening clone, positioning himself between the vulnerable body and the legendary creature. His enhanced machete came up in a defensive slash aimed at the ape that was reaching toward his clone with one massive paw.
"Ding!"
The ape’s paw, covered in thick silver fur that looked as hard as metal, simply batted at Vogue’s blade casually. The collision created a loud ringing sound like a hammer striking an anvil.
The force behind that casual swat was tremendous. Vogue was sent flying backward through the air, his body tumbling completely out of control from the impact. His arms went numb from the shock of the collision, and he could feel hairline fractures forming in the bones of his forearms.
But even as he flew backward, Vogue’s hand shot out and grabbed his clone’s hair, dragging the awakening body with him as he was knocked away. He refused to leave it behind for the ape to take.
They crashed through the far wall of the room together, punching through brick and wood, and tumbled into the hallway beyond in a tangle of limbs.
The massive silver ape stood where they had been moments before, its head tilting to the side in what looked like curiosity. Its intelligent eyes studied Vogue with an expression that seemed almost... interested? Like it found this small creature’s determination amusing.
Then it began walking forward slowly toward where Vogue had landed, its heavy footsteps making the entire building shake with each step. It was in no hurry. It knew its prey couldn’t escape.
Suddenly, five severed fingers came flying through the air from Vogue’s direction, tumbling end over end as they approached the ape.
The silver ape glanced at them briefly but didn’t bother dodging or blocking. They were just fingers. What threat could they pose? It simply let the small pieces of flesh land on its massive body, some sticking to its fur while others bounced off and fell to the floor.
The ape continued its advance, raising one foot to take another step forward.
But then its body suddenly halted mid-stride. Its raised foot stopped in the air as though it had hit an invisible wall.
"Yi?" The ape made a questioning sound, looking down at its own body with confusion.
It tried to move its leg but found it couldn’t. Something was preventing it from advancing.
The five fingers that had landed on its body had already finished growing. Five full clones now clung to the legendary creature’s massive form, having transformed and activated their dragon forms in the seconds since landing.
Two draconic clones with powerful arms and wings wrapped themselves tightly around the ape’s right leg, their scaled limbs coiling around the thick muscle and bone like constrictor snakes. Another two clones had grabbed the ape’s left leg in a similar fashion, holding it immobile with dragon-enhanced strength.
Two more clones had each seized one of the ape’s massive arms, preventing it from swinging or grabbing. Their wings spread wide for leverage as they pulled back with everything they had.
The final clone had positioned itself on the ape’s back and strangled its thick neck with both arms, squeezing the windpipe closed while the creature had been distracted and caught off-guard by the sudden restraints.
The silver ape’s eyes widened with realization. It had been trapped.
"Explode." Vogue’s voice rang out coldly through the darkness.
All five clones detonated simultaneously while still clinging to the legendary creature’s body.
"KABOOM! KABOOM! KABOOM! KABOOM! KABOOM!"
Five massive crimson explosions erupted at once, the overlapping blasts merging into a single enormous fireball that completely consumed the ape’s form. The explosions were so bright they turned night into day for several seconds, illuminating the entire street in blood-red light.
The shockwave tore through the building, collapsing walls and shattering what few windows remained intact. The blast wave rushed toward Vogue’s position with devastating force.
Vogue didn’t even bother closing his eyes as the shockwave reached him. The heat washed over his face, burning his skin and hair, but his regeneration immediately healed the damage as fast as it appeared. He simply stared at the explosion, watching carefully for any sign of what had happened to his enemy.
As the flames began to die down and thick black smoke billowed outward, Vogue saw something emerge from the center of the blast zone.
