Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 91: Escaping And Safe Space
While he continued fleeing with Elena, James, and their companions still pursuing him through the city.
They saw the severed fingers flung to various corners of the street.
Elena didn’t allow anger to cloud her judgement, she immediately attacked those fingers with plums of flames as she shot several fire balls and ignored them as she pursued Levi with her might.
The flames instantly enveloped the five fingers four immediately turned to ash but one was already growing into an entire arm in mid air.
As the flames touched it and burned it, regeneration set in.
"Boom!"
By the time the finger reached the ground, it had tranfoemed into a full human as the flame burned half of the body as it landed on the pavement with a loud thud and two broken legs which healed.
The s rank flames were truly insane.
The real Vogue kept moving, leading the ten pursuers away from where his clone had formed. He flew between buildings, used Time Step to dodge attacks, and pushed himself to maintain maximum distance.
Meanwhile, back on the street, Levi immediately clone jump and ordered the main body which was now the clone to survive with everything it had.
Levi who had clone jumped into the clone got dressed and whistled with his hands in his pockets.
While everyone was focused on chasing his apparent trajectory, the actual Vogue had doubled back and was heading toward a completely different section of the city.
He had the three Evolution Fruits safely stored in his system inventory where no one could sense them or steal them. All he needed now was time and distance.
And if his decoy clone could keep ten angry players occupied for a while, that would be perfect.
Vogue found a decent place to stay after searching for about twenty minutes. It was a small apartment building that looked relatively intact compared to the destruction around it. He cleared a few radiants on the way there, killing them efficiently despite the challenges.
With the sun high up in the sky, the radiants were very difficult to kill. Their regeneration worked incredibly fast in direct sunlight, healing their wounds almost instantly. Even when Vogue severed their heads completely, the bodies would start regrowing new heads within seconds while the severed heads grew new bodies. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
But with his pseudo Type 9 enhanced machete, Vogue was easily able to slice through their armored chests like cutting through tough leather. The blade’s superior sharpness and penetration power let him reach their corrupted hearts and destroy the cores completely. Once the heart was destroyed, even the fastest regeneration couldn’t save them.
He cleared the entire building methodically, going floor by floor to make sure no radiants were hiding anywhere. Then he chose a room on the third floor that had a good view of the street and only one entrance, making it easy to defend.
The room was a simple studio apartment with a bed, a small kitchen area, and a bathroom. It would serve his purpose well enough.
Vogue took out the three Evolution Fruits from his system inventory and placed them carefully on the small table. Then he stared at them with curiosity and slight disappointment.
The fruits didn’t look like much at all. They weren’t glowing like he had expected based on how they appeared hanging from the tree. Instead, they just had a simple, dull appearance like normal mango fruits, though slightly larger. The shape was unusual though—each fruit resembled a baby curled up and sleeping in their mother’s womb, which gave them an oddly organic quality.
Vogue suddenly paused mid-thought and turned to stare at a particular spot on the wall, looking in a specific direction as though he could see through the solid brick and concrete. Then he smiled wryly, a sad expression crossing his face.
He could feel through his mental connection that his decoy clone had already died. The connection had simply... snapped. Gone.
"They actually killed it so fast," he muttered to himself.
The clone had possessed all the same abilities as the original Vogue—regeneration, time manipulation, dragon transformation, everything. Yet it hadn’t been able to survive even with all those powers combined. This clearly showed just how scary Stellar Knights were, even though Elena and James were only Lower Moon Rank 1, the very first level of evolution.
The power gap between someone who had completed their evolution and someone who hadn’t was enormous, far bigger than Vogue had realized.
He pondered seriously whether he should just evolve using the Super Evolution method right now. He had already killed well over one thousand radiants, so he qualified. The Ultimate Evolution that required ten thousand radiant kills was simply too difficult to reach, especially with people like Elena and James hunting him.
But then Vogue shook his head firmly, dismissing the tempting thought.
Just because of fear, he wouldn’t give up on using the ultimate method of evolution. That would be the coward’s way out, and he hadn’t survived this long by being a coward.
Even if others chose the easier paths, it didn’t mean he had to follow them. If he was going to evolve and transform into a Stellar Knight, he would use the absolute best form of evolution available, no matter how difficult or dangerous the journey.
Vogue nodded to himself, his determination renewed. Without any more hesitation, he picked up the first Evolution Fruit and bit into it.
The fruit felt soft in his mouth, and the taste was surprisingly pleasant. It actually felt as though he was eating a truly delicious, perfectly ripe mango fruit. Sweet juice filled his mouth, and the flesh was smooth and easy to chew.
Vogue raised an eyebrow at how normal it tasted. He had expected something more... mystical? Perhaps a burning sensation or strange flavors? But no, it was just really good fruit.
Without hesitation, he munched on the entire fruit, eating it down to the core. There were a few large seeds inside which Vogue carefully spat out into his hand. He placed the seeds in his inventory space, thinking they might be useful for growing more trees later.
Then he sat down on the bed and waited for the effects of the fruit to manifest. He expected something dramatic—glowing energy, physical changes, pain, something.
But nothing actually happened.
He was genuinely surprised. He had expected at least some effect to occur, but he felt completely normal. No different than before eating the fruit.
He waited five minutes. Still nothing.
Vogue shook his head with disappointment. He was truly unlucky. The ten percent chance for a second awakening didn’t trigger at all. That was understandable—ten percent was a low probability.
