Infinite Regeneration In The Apocalypse-Chapter 92: Second Awakening!
Vogue shook his head with disappointment. He was truly unlucky. The ten percent chance for a second awakening didn’t trigger at all. That was understandable—ten percent was a low probability.
But what about the other effects of the fruit? The meridian cleansing and body purification that were supposed to be guaranteed effects? He couldn’t even feel anything changing at this point. No warmth, no tingling, no sensation of impurities being expelled from his body.
He waited a few more minutes, checking his body carefully for any changes. Still nothing.
Vogue shook his head in frustration and grabbed the second fruit. Maybe the first one was a dud? Or maybe he needed to eat more than one for the effects to work?
He bit into the second fruit and munched on it quickly. This time, the flavor was completely different. It tasted like premium blueberries, sweet and slightly tart at the same time. The taste was actually heavenly, better than any fruit he had ever eaten in either of his lives.
One minute passed. Five minutes passed. Still nothing happened.
"Don’t tell me I stole this fruits and sacrificed a clone just to have a fruit salad."
Vogue was getting genuinely depressed at this point. Two fruits down and absolutely no effects. He stared at the third and final fruit sitting on the table, wondering if eating it would make any difference.
Just when Vogue was about to pick up the third fruit and munch on it out of sheer frustration, he suddenly felt a strange chill overwhelm his entire being.
He was stunned and confused. Where did this sudden cold come from? With his dragon-enhanced physique making his skin as hard and tough as leather, there was no way normal temperature changes would be able to affect him like this. Not to mention the four suns high up in the sky were blazing hot, making the day incredibly warm.
It should be hot right now, not cold at all.
Vogue shook his body trying to get rid of the uncomfortable chill, but the sensation only increased even more. The cold was coming from inside him, not from outside.
And in the next second, something impossible happened. The temperature in the room where Vogue was sitting actually started to drop rapidly. But at the same time, Vogue’s body temperature was rising.
Frost began forming on Vogue’s eyelashes, turning them white with ice crystals. The floor around him started to frost over as well, ice spreading across the wooden boards in beautiful crystalline patterns.
"What’s happening?" Vogue said out loud, his breath coming out as visible white vapor.
He was completely stunned. He checked his hands and saw they were turning pale white, the color draining from his skin as though all the blood was leaving his body.
The temperature in the room dropped so dramatically that Vogue started to shiver uncontrollably. His teeth chattered together. The entire room froze over rapidly—ice formed on the windows, frost covered the walls, the bed sheets became stiff with frozen moisture.
The room looked like it had been transported to the Arctic in the middle of winter.
Suddenly, a massive explosion rang out inside Vogue’s head. It felt as though something that had been locked away broke open in his mind. He felt his consciousness freed of something that had been restraining it, like invisible chains snapping apart.
He closed his eyes as the pain overwhelmed him, and immediately something like an internal vision came to him.
He could see a vast barren landscape, almost like a wasteland of ruins. It was just a plain, cracked wasteland stretching as far as the eye could see. The sky above was completely grey with no sun or stars visible. The entire world existed in shades of grey and brown.
But at the very center of this desolate world, a small pool of liquid could be seen. The pool was incredibly thick and viscous, definitely not water. The liquid was blood red, so dark it was almost black.
The pool was mostly still, but it would ripple occasionally. When ripples formed, instead of spreading in normal circular patterns like water would, the ripples created infinity symbols—figure-eight patterns that moved across the surface.
At the center of the blood-red pool, a golden cocoon floated on the surface. But this cocoon wasn’t wrapped in silk like a normal insect cocoon. Instead, if you looked closely, it was wrapped in golden chains that glowed with their own light. Thick chains bound the cocoon tightly, preventing whatever was inside from emerging.
A single crack could be seen in the golden cocoon. Through that crack, a silver dragon head was visible, trying to push its way out from inside. This was the Time Dragon head that Vogue had already awakened.
There was also a massive silver tree growing directly out from the center of the blood pool. The tree was so enormous its branches reached all the way up to touch the grey clouds at the top of this internal world.
One thick branch of the silver tree could be seen stretching down to touch the silver dragon head that was emerging from the cracked cocoon.
Just as Vogue realized this internal world must represent his consciousness or soul space, and that the dragon head was his already-awakened Time Dragon, the entire world suddenly trembled violently.
The pool of thick red blood suddenly surged upward like a fountain! Waves rose and fell, the surface churning with violent motion.
As the pool surged and boiled, something rose up from the depths. An ice-blue seed emerged from the blood-red liquid, floating to the surface. The seed was perfectly round and glowed with cold inner light.
Then the seed immediately began to grow at impossible speed. It sprouted roots that plunged back into the blood pool. A stem shot upward. Leaves unfurled.
Within seconds, the seed had grown into a small plant. But this plant was incredibly unusual—it was entirely blue, as though it was made from solid ice rather than living matter. The plant radiated cold that made the air around it shimmer.
A single branch stretched outward from the ice-blue plant and reached toward the dragon cocoon floating nearby. The branch extended until it touched the golden chains wrapped around the cocoon.
Suddenly, there was a loud cracking sound that echoed across the entire internal world. A second crack appeared in the cocoon of golden chains, splitting apart next to the first crack.
"ROOOAAARRR!"
