Information to Mastery: Points Store System-Chapter 240: Newton’s Side of the Story

Upon hearing his father’s words, Henry paid attention, not willing to miss a single word.

Seeing that his son was paying attention, Newton did not hold back at all, as he explained.

According to Newton, during the time that Zachary was still within the family, the two of them had a conflict. It was just that, most of the people did not understand why they conflicted with each other.

Back then, Newton believed that Zachary was the one that was supposed to take charge of the family business. But, Zachary never showed interest at all.

All the time, Newton was the one who was required to deal with a lot of things, while Zachary was free all the time, thinking about romance.

This was something that irritated Newton. After all, Newton also wanted to have free time, so that he could enjoy himself.

But with everything being handled by him, while Zachary was being carefree, how could Newton get the time to enjoy himself? As for ignoring the responsibility given, it was impossible.

Newton could not allow anything to happen to the family business. Additionally, their father’s condition back then wasn’t good, so, most of the things had been assigned to him to take care of.

Newton’s father had a heart condition, which was bothering him, and it required him to take an extended break. But during this time, the syndicate could not be left without a leader.

That was why, after Zachary refused, Newton had to take charge, despite being the younger of the two.

So, he usually confronted Zachary about this issue, but no matter how many times he tried, Zachary never listened. In the end, this evolved into a conflict, to the extent that Newton told Zachary that he knew about his romance with Cynthia.

Newton told him that, he should not even think about getting married, if he did not help out. After all, as long as Newton revealed this to the old man, the old man would definitely not agree to the marriage between Zachary and Cynthia.

As for why the old man would not agree to that, it was simply because they had already made arrangements for Zachary’s future partner.

As long as Zachary and the partner that the old man had arranged got married, the power and influence of the Santos family would grow bigger. This would also help them in dealing with the Blood Reapers syndicate.

And on the day that Newton came to know that Cynthia was actually pregnant, he was angry at his brother. How could he even think about impregnating a girl, when the situation was turbulent?

He was supposed to be focusing on how to stabilize the situation of the family business, before thinking about creating a family of his own.

This issue escalated, and it reached the ears of the old man. The old man asked for Zachary to go and see him.

Unexpectedly, when Zachary was supposed to go and see the old man, he disappeared. He was not the only one, as even Cynthia disappeared as well.

Newton tried to search for him, unfortunately he could not find him. It was as though Zachary and Cynthia had completely vanished from this world.

Despite the influence of the Santos family, it was impossible to be able to find them. Even the Wilson family was incapable of finding either of them.

The old man on the other hand, upon hearing that Zachary had eloped with Cynthia, he was heartbroken. In the end, he ended up being admitted in the hospital for 2 months.

And after 2 months, when he was discharged from the hospital, he said, there was no need to put pressure on Zachary. If they found him, they would allow him to marry Cynthia.

As for the issue regarding the arranged marriage, the old man personally canceled it. If it had gone through, it would have allowed the Silent Order syndicate to dominate the underworld within this nation.

As for the Blood Reapers, they would have been easily dealt with. Unfortunately, without that connection, it became impossible to be able to eliminate the Blood Reapers.

And the competition between the two syndicates continuously became fierce. And this problem has been going on until this day, with the Blood Reapers gaining an advantage steadily.

The plans that Newton was making were falling through one after the other. It was clear, there were spies within the syndicate. It was just that, it was impossible to be able to know who exactly those spies were, unless they exposed themselves.

This was something that Newton already knew about, considering that even within blood reapers, Newton had already sent quite a number of spies. It was just that, those spies were not able to get their hands on the crucial information on Blood Reapers.

Back to the story, despite the old man making a concession, it would only be effective if Zachary came back. Unfortunately, no matter what methods the Santos family used, they never found Zachary.

It was only about 5 years ago that Newton finally managed to find information on Zachary. It turned out that he had gone to a small city that was prone to criminal activities.

He was living there with his wife and son, doing some small jobs as employees, in order to support themselves.

Just as Newton was planning to make contact, to try and convince Zachary to come back to the family, he heard that both Zachary and Cynthia had unfortunately died during a bank heist.

This was something that had infuriated Newton. It was the extent that he found who it was that had pulled the trigger to kill the two of them. Both who had been involved in directly killing Cynthia and Zachary were personally killed by Newton.

Regardless, no matter how angry Newton was, it was impossible to be able to bring his brother back. So, he thought of bringing Michael back to the family.

But then, he thought against it. He realized, if he brought Michael to the family, the old man would undoubtedly know about Zachary’s death.

Newton understood all too well that the old man was kind of biased towards Zachary. Of the two sons, he really loved Zachary more. It was no wonder that he did not say much when Zachary was not getting himself involved in the family business.

He even went to the extent of canceling the engagement between Zachary and that lady, just to allow Zachary to do what he wanted.

As for why Newton did not marry that lady, in order to be able to ensure the collaboration between the two families, it was simply because the lady wasn’t interested in Newton. Instead, she was in love with Zachary, unfortunately, Zachary was in love with another girl.

Anyway, upon realizing that if he brought Michael back, the old man would know about the demise of Zachary, Newton thought against that. He thought, if the old man knew about it, he might even pass away, due to the heart problem.

In the end, he made the difficult decision of not getting himself involved in anything related to Zachary. That way, even if the old man continued investigating about Zachary’s whereabouts, he would not get any clue from Newton.

That was why, despite knowing the situation that Michael was in under the oppression of Shadow Assembly gang, he did not get himself involved at all.

He would have really wanted to do his brother the favor of taking care of his son, unfortunately, he could not risk the health of the old man.

And, about 3 years ago, he stopped paying attention to anything related to Michael, just not to be reminded about Zachary.

It was also because of this reason that every time that Henry tried to ask about Zachary, Newton would get extremely angry. After all, it would be reminded of the death of his brother.

Additionally, there was a risk that the old man might end up knowing about Zachary’s death if Newton revealed anything to Henry. That was why he kept it a secret, and warned Henry not to investigate anything related to this.

Newton himself was lucky to be able to get the information regarding Zachary back then. It was by chance. But, who could tell if Henry would also get lucky to be able to get the information?

And, what he was afraid of had happened, and Henry had made contact with Michael, coming to know about the fact that Zachary was dead.

It was just that, even Newton himself had not anticipated that somehow, Michael would actually be able to get himself out of the oppression of the Shadow Assembly gang.

Additionally, he could not understand how it was possible for Michael, within just 3 years, to be able to rise to the extent that he was able to acquire the shares of Vanguard Corporation.

And knowing the moves that Vanguard Corporation had been making recently, especially after it was delisted from the stock market and became a private company, it was clear that not just anyone could acquire the shares of this company.

As Henry listened to this story, he could not help but be perplexed. From his father’s words, it was clear that he was not the one that was involved in the death of Zachary and Cynthia.

But then, how was it possible that Michael thought otherwise? Or was it possible that it was just that Michael resented Newton? After all, Newton had not brought him back to the family, despite knowing about his existence, leaving him to suffer in a small city.

Or was it possible that Newton was hiding the truth of this matter? For now, Henry was left unsure of what to believe, and what not to believe.
