Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 446 - Brave Ones Get Help First
Chapter 446: Chapter 446 - Brave Ones Get Help First
I pretended not to notice the approaching group of people at first since I first want to hear what they needed from me. I don’t like forcing people to accept anything from me and call me selfish but I also don’t share my food easily especially to people I do not like.
As for this group, if they need any type of help, they have to be brave enough to ask for it. If you are brave, you might just get lucky and receive the assistance you needed the most sooner than you expected.
The group of 7 slowly walked towards my area, carrying several bags of what looked like their belongings. They made sure that their approach made a sound, not trying to hide they their presence or to appear sneaky. They stopped several meters away from where I was seated and eating just watching quietly.
The task to approach me and ask for help fell to the two little boys who were shivering from either the cold or maybe fear of approaching a female stranger. Though scared, desperation fuels people to do things they never did before so they still approached with small, slow and shaky steps.
The two boys stopped a few steps to my right. They were pushing each other to decide who will speak first. I suddenly stopped eating and turned my head to the right. I stared at the two of them and the two stiffened immediately.
The youngest of the two boys, being smaller and weaker, was pushed forward by the other boy so he had no choice but to speak. With a soft and shaky voice, he said, "Hi, madam. I’m Tim and I am 7 and this is my elder cousin, Sid. The people over there are my grandparents, father, uncle and little sister. We are just wondering with the flags... Umm... Are you offering food and medicine from the government?"
I nodded my head firmly once. I pointed my finger on the pole and responded, "The flag on top is the crest for the Athanoviya royal family. The one below it is the Mage Tower then the one below that is the Healers’ guild. From that, you should be able to think about who I am. If you want to eat, bring some bowls with you. As for medicine, I have to check what your illness is first so I can prescribe the right medicine."
Hearing my confirmation, the older brother, Sid, ran back towards his family members to relay my answer. He even left his younger brother alone with me, how careless. The remaining members of the family, hearing that I was willing to help out, continued walking forward to where I was.
Instead of asking for food, they started working on sticking some sticks on the ground, seemingly intending to create their make shift home first. I called for Tim and gave him a small orb which has a tent inside which is one of my recent inventions with the help of the mage tower. The tent was huge and spacious enough to house his whole family. I gave him a short instruction to just throw it in the air and say "Expand" and that there was a little house inside.
The boy was confused but still took the orb and brought it to the man who seemed to be his father. The man look confused but decided to pull out all the sticks from the ground. He then asked everybody to make way. He did not let the young child do it and threw the orb in the air himself, shouted "Expand" and then ran away as if a grenade was about to explode on sight.
As the orb hit the ground, it started to expand, it first grew small legs that buried into the earth, not seen by the naked eye. Then, within seconds, 6 steel like poles shut out of the ground to form the main frame of the tent further branching out to support the whole structure. After the frame has been built, a dark and water proof covering started to roll out from the poles themselves until the whole place was covered. It was the type of tent that is spacious enough that it could shelter up to ten people and was more like a temporary house given that it had what seems to be small windows and a door in front.
The whole process did not even last a minute and that whole time, the family of seven looked on with wide eyes and agaped mouths. The first one to break from being stunned was Tim as he ran forward to open the door. From the inside, you can hear a loud shout of admiration from him. The rest of the family started going inside to see as well.
Not even a few seconds after hearing some celebrations inside, the two men who were in their 40s ran out of the tent, went in front of me and prostrated to the ground. With nervous voices, they alternately talked, "This home is precious, madam. We do not have anything to pay for it but we shameless still want to accept it. We can do anything you need us to do for the food, shelter and the medicine you will be providing."
I answered them in a flat tone, "The food and the medicine are free. The tent, is not free but I allow you to help around here to pay for it. There are seven of you in the family, surely you can do things for me to pay for that."
The both of them slowly lifted their heads, their faces pale and nervous as they asked, "What tasks do you want us to do to repay you?"
I looked upwards seemingly thinking of what they can do for me. That brief silence made the two of them gulp in anxiety and sweat buckets. After some time, I answered, using my fingers to count, "You can give food and water to my horses, gather firewood, help me cook and distribute food, help me build another tent and arrange everything inside as a temporary clinic, help me grind some medicinal materials and assist me in helping patients. There are so many things you can do."
Understanding the fact hat I do not intend to abuse them or turn them to slaves, the two men prostrated again in thanks and told me that except the youngest child who is only three, the other six are not afraid of working or helping out. I simply dismissed them and gave instructions to put all their things inside their tent then eat dinner so we can proceed with the health check up later before we all sleep. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
