Insect Tamer's Ascension-Chapter 109: Road to level 5 (1)
Alfred went to the side and changed his frown to that of a calm face again in front of the Baron.
Yet the Baron smiled knowingly; Knight Geller and him were not ones to get along with.
With another yawn, the knight came and hopped inside the room slowly, and stopped for a second there. His eyes were so sleepy that one could not believe he was one of the knights for the Merrick barony.
Yet in the presence of the Baron, he bowed deeply in respect.
"What do you think about my son, Geller?" the Baron asked with his face buried, reading the mission letter again.

"… His ways of doing things were unnecessarily risky, but they worked…" Geller spoke slowly. Another yawn came up to his lips, yet he just pursed them to stop it from coming out fully.
The Baron just nodded in understanding. "Anything else?" he asked again.
Hearing that question, the knight thought for a few long seconds in silence before he spoke again. "That… beast of his is quite the thing, my lord," he said, and the Baron looked at him for the first time.
He knew the knight was not over-speaking and waited patiently.
"… Now that I think about it… that beast is very good at hiding itself. I only noticed it near the young master when two vipers' heads just fell to the ground out of nowhere," the knight said with a thoughtful expression.
The Baron was surprised and looked at Alfred for a second, who himself seemed surprised. Knight Geller was not one to speak so much.
Yet that thoughtfulness of the knight changed back to sleepiness almost instantly.
"Good work, Geller. Keep me updated about what he is up to every day, got it?"
The knight looked at the Baron once and bowed before he hopped off the window again slowly.
Alfred sighed, and the Baron just chuckled, seeing the knight jump off the tall castle's second floor as if it was nothing.
"I have never seen him talk this much, master," Alfred spoke with a somewhat proud expression.
The Baron just smiled and went back to looking at the missions Theo had completed, his expectations seemed to increase and an excited grin formed on his face.
Meanwhile, Theo was already far from the Baron's room.
He first thought about going back to his room, yet for some reason, he wasn't willing to.
"Clara, let's go do some training. It's been a while," Theo said with a smile.
Clara wanted to say something about him having some fun once in a while, yet when she saw Theo's smile, she just chuckled and nodded. This was what Theo liked.
A few minutes later, Theo was in the training hall.
When he entered, he saw the guards training in the area dwindle.
"Last I was here, this place was filled with people," Theo muttered.
"That is because you were here, young master," Clara said with a giggle.
Theo thought about it for a second and smiled, "Maybe it is."
When one of the guards looked at the back and saw Theo, his eyes widened, and he smacked the shoulder of the one near him.
"Hm? What is it?" the guard looked back, and when he saw the entrance too, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Young master Theo, welcome!" the guard said, and the others soon followed one after another.
Theo nodded with a smile. It was a wholesome place, except for the sweat and blood everywhere.
"Thank you, everyone. I have come to have some light training. Would anyone like to spar right now?" Theo asked with a smile.
Some of the guards looked at each other before they moved to look at Theo again.
"I will do it!"
"No, I!"
"You all are weak, let me do it!"
The hall that once had a light mood was now filled with shouts and cheers since Theo joined.
Clara could realize what was happening, and she looked at Theo with a knowing gaze.
Since then, Theo first went and stretched his body to be ready for a fight. He did some light exercise too to open his muscles again.
It was then that the training with many of the guards started. His instincts were getting better, and everyone could realize it.
He was more sensitive to knowing where an attack would come from, which was a skill of its own.
He was even able to have some hits on the guards, and while they were not strong enough yet, a vital hit was a hit.
After a few hours, Theo was done with the training, and by then, the training hall was filled with guards and knights again.
Theo's motivation was contagious, and it made others come and train with each other in their free time too.
It was a good change, and when his father heard the roars and cheers coming from the old training hall, he couldn't help but grin.
When Theo was done with the training, he finally went to his room to have some rest.
The mantis was having the time of its life eating stuff it liked.
By the end of the day, another letter came into the room, and Theo quickly opened it to look at the new missions.
When both he and Clara looked at each one of them, they froze. The missions were unlike any he had done till now, which made sense as he was already halfway through his first rating.
"The Baron didn't hold back the toughness, young master. I think he is impressed by your speed." Clara didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Hahaha… he really took off the boar one from here too, Clara. Only the herb one I left behind is here," Theo chuckled awkwardly.
"We went back too early, young master. I told you the bonus missions don't repeat with the next ones. The collection of herbs is a vital one, so unless you complete the prerequisite first, it will be impossible to get the next one."
When Theo looked at the list again too, he nodded in understanding. There was only a single mission for the collection of herbs.
All the others were stuff that could only be completed if he leveled up and became stronger.
"It's time to level up again, Clara. By the end of the month, I will surely be level 5."
