Interspecies Trader-Chapter 249 – Cannot Handle Them
I thought of something and added.
“Ah, but please go easy on Orun. He’s still young.”
“Of course. I don’t expect him to understand everything at his age.”
The class continued as the children got hit from time to time. They adapted swiftly. As children from the slums, they were well acquainted with pain. Aren’s shock was more because of surprise than the pain itself.
It was interesting to see how Aren and Erin handled the situation. Aren soon tried to coax his teacher, trying to act like a good child. Erin, on the other hand, only bit her teeth, taking the hits in silence but glaring at the woman with fire in her eyes. A bit more, and I would have thought she wanted to kill her in her sleep or something.
As for Mrs. Itfan, she was experienced and had seen it all. Aren's coaxing didn’t move her at all, and she wasn’t intimidated by Erin’s glaring in the least. It helped that she was a rank 3 sorceress. Even if the three kids attacked her by surprise, they wouldn’t be able to inflict a single scratch on her. She was well-suited for the job.
The lesson this time was short since we started late. We had lunch together, most of the discussion happening between me and Mrs. Itfan. After the woman thanked me for the meal, I paid her for the day, and we parted ways.
“How was your first lesson, kids?”
Their expression said it all.
“Great. I’ll give you the money so you can pay her every day. Let’s go find your second teacher.”
They followed me, a lot less enthusiastically now. It was the correct attitude of children confronted with education, which was a positive sign.
Our next destination was a no-brainer for me. I directly headed toward the martial center where Selva and Wico belonged. The children’s gaze lit up once more as they heard the many dynamic shouts of the people training and sparring all around, most wearing simple martial outfits.
I looked around and soon spotted someone I knew. I only knew two people here, and since Selva was still in Taifau, the only one left was the rank 6 eagle.
“Master!”
I waved her way happily, my sudden shout surprising the siblings. Wico, who was talking to one of the martial center’s members, ditched him to fly toward me with a large grin. The man who was left alone shook his head with a sigh as if he were used to her antics and went away to find someone else to chat with. Wico settled on top of my shoulders as per her habit and talked at high speed.
“Tila! Long time no see! I’ve missed you, my disciple! Kahahah!”
“I missed you too, master. Where have you been? Selva and I couldn’t find you anywhere.”
“I was busy with other stuff. More importantly, who are these kids?”
She focused on the children, who were startled by the quick developments.
“They’re future employees of mine that I’m investing in. Kids, say hi to my master, Wico Blynt.”
“Hi!”
“H-Hi?”
“...Hello.”
She smiled at them before talking to me again.
“Oh my sel, you have employees now? Time’s passing so fast!”
“I earned a lot during our trip to Makji, so I invested as much as possible. I’m opening a store in the city soon.”
“Wow, talk about swift success. I’m happy for you. Don’t forget your poor master when you get rich, okay?”
“Of course. My success is partially due to you. Back to the topic, two of these three want to become sorcerers. I was wondering if you would teach them, master.”
“Which two?”
I finally introduced them.
“This is Erin, this is Aren, and this is Orun. Erin and Orun are going to be sorcerers.”
“Hmm. Nope! I could take Aren, maybe, but no way I’m handling that girl. She looks even worse than Selva. I’ve got my fill of rebel girls for the next few decades.”
As expected of her, she had good eyes.
“That’s a shame. Speaking of Selva, did you know she was in Ekidos?”
“Ekidos, in Taifau? What is she doing there?”
“She said she was wandering the land and took a liking to the place. She’s earning a living by fighting other people of her rank in the streets.”
“That’s so like her, kahahah! I guess I should go and fetch her now that Geola’s open again.”
We spoke a bit more, sharing the news, until I noticed the children getting restless. I switched the topic back to what we came for.
“Master, since you don’t want to teach them, can you recommend someone else?”
“Just ask the guy at the entrance, he’ll find the right people for you.”
It seemed she didn’t want to bother with this problem too much.
“All right, we’ll do that. Then, see you later, master.”
“See you!”
Just before she flew away from the top of my head, she sensually whispered something in my ear.
“My cloaca missed your tongue and dick a lot, too. Come see me after you've found someone for the kids.”
I don’t know if sensually was the right term in this case. It was just her usual dirty talk. I couldn’t help having my cock twitch a little in excitement. I knew what sort of end I would meet if I had another sexual encounter with her, but my body was honest.
She flew away without waiting for my answer, and we went to meet the person manning the reception at the entrance. Fortunately, finding people to teach the three wasn’t too hard. The martial center was relatively large, and they were always in need of more long-term contracts to satisfy all the members. Even though some preferred mercenary work, a good number liked teaching children from the city since it was safe work.
We were soon introduced to two people, who were simply the next ones in line to get a job on the internal waiting list corresponding to what we were looking for, the one that Wico had completely skipped the previous time.
