It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 186: Keep a secret

Glancing at her for the final time. He walked towards the door and murmured a goodnight for her before he left.

Shaking her head hopelessly. Petal closed her eyes trying to get some sleep. She tried not to think about what he said.

"When the time is right. You will understand everything that happened."

What did he mean by that?

She won’t be fooled by his game again. She might still and will always love but that doesn’t mean that she will be manipulated by him. Not everyone fated to have a happy ending. She thought to herself.

"Mia. What happened last night?" Alice asked the maid.

Last night she saw the maids cleaning the unused side of the mansion. But she was too drunk to ask.

"Oh. Something strange happened last night. I was passing by when I saw Miss Petal running and Mr. Ethan chasing after her." The maid started to tell Alice what happened.

"What? Why were they doing that?" Alice asked, confused. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"I don’t know. But after they went running after each other downstairs We heard the sound of glasses shattering and then everything went quiet after a few minutes. Mr. Ethan came downstairs with Miss Petal in his arms. She seemed to have injured herself because Mr. Ethan took her to the underground hospital." The maid continued.

Alice dismissed the maid after hearing the gossip. She had a feeling that something happened. Her brother didn’t leave the mansion this morning and Petal didn’t leave her room.

But why in the world were they running after each other?

Their view of romance was very strange. Maybe her brother lost his touch and he scared the girl away? She thought to herself.

Alice laughed to herself as she imagined the sight of them running after each other. She wondered what will happen next time when they’re alone in the mansion.

She had heard from her mother that Petal was thinking about leaving the mansion and moving out. It made her feel sad. Petal became like a sister to her. She got used to her staying with them in the mansion.

"Hmm. The mansion will return to become lonely again." Alice said, staring outside the window.

Placing her feet on the carpeted floor. She tried to stand up slowly and see if her legs still hurt. Using the nightstand to support her weight. She straightened her body and tried to walk.

One step. Two steps. Petal walked carefully on her feet noticing that the pain was no longer and she can walk normally with it. Sighing in relief. She walked towards the bathroom to take a shower.

By the time Petal came downstairs, it was two in the afternoon. She had slept for a long time. It made her feel refreshed. She was about to go to the kitchen when she saw Pearl sitting alone in the garden from the window.

She always finds her sitting alone and it makes her wonder why. Pearl always seemed unhappy. A deep sadness always could be seen in her eyes. Though she noticed how Issac treated her as she was a precious jewel. He loves her too much and he always makes sure that she knows it. She walked upon them many times hearing him saying that to her. I was both cute and romantic.

But she seems unhappy.

"She’s alone again." Petal heard Issac’s voice who came to stand next to her.

Petal turned to look at Issac who was smiling as he looked at Pearl from the window.

"When I first met her. She had wounds on her hands, fingers, and feet. Pearl was kidnapped and used as a prostitute forcefully. I found her and took her out of that place." Issac paused observing Petal’s reaction.

Petal turned to look at Pearl who was sitting alone. She must have suffered. Petal didn’t know how she felt but she could only imagine that bad things happened to her. She wanted to know about her. Because she always approaches her carefully fearing that the girl in front of her might break into pieces.

"At first she was happy but Pearl went through it wasn’t easy. Signs of depression started to appear on her. She eats less. Talked less. Eventually, she stopped both. I tried to heal her but she was too damaged. She always tells me that she’s happy with me but I feel that she’s not. I want to help her but I don’t know-how. You are the only one who knows about this. I shared this with you because I noticed that she’s comfortable around you." Issac said, looking at her.

Petal reached to wipe the tears in her eyes. Her heart ached for Pearl. It’s a horrible thing for a girl to go through. These people had destroyed her life.

"I can keep a secret." Petal said. signaling.

Issac smiled and nodded his head. He knew that she would keep it. He just wanted to make sure. Pearl is ashamed of her past but he also didn’t want her to be isolated because of that. It wasn’t her fault and certainly, he wasn’t blaming her.

Pearl felt someone’s hand on her shoulder suddenly and she turned to see who it was she saw Petal."Oh. Petal. Good afternoon." Pearl said."Come and sit." She added.

Sitting beside her. Petal noticed how Pearl’s stomach was very big now. She looked cute.

Petal opened her notebook and started to write something on it."Did you find out the gender?" She wrote and showed it to her.

"Yes. It’s a boy. Issac wanted a girl." Pearl said, rubbing her stomach gently.

Pearl was curious about something and wanted to ask her."That day you saved me. You stood up for her. Since that day I have always thought about how you did that despite that you don’t me that well. I don’t know but It made me happy." Pearl said to her.

Petal smiled at her. Does she have to know her to save her? She was simply a person in need and she helped her.
