It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 185: Nothing
Fear took over her as her mind started to remember. It was dark and she was in pain. Tears slid down from her eyes as her body started to shake in fear. She tried to stand up but every time she did that her foot hurt.
Petal realized that the corridor was quiet. Too quiet. She reached to touch her ears and noticed that her hearing devices were missing. She must have dropped while she was running. A quiet sob escaped her lips. She was scared and in pain. This happened because of him. If he didn’t chase her none of this would have happened.
She hated darkness. It reminded her of what her father did to her. Petal’s breathing started to quicken. Her body became cold. Sweat gathered on her forehead. She was having a panic attack. Something that hasn’t happened for a long time now.
Suddenly. The lights turned on and when she looked up. She saw him.
Ethan who was following her heard the sound of glass shattering followed by a loud thud. Following the noise direction. It led him to the empty side of the corridor. When he reached there and turned on the lights. He found her there on the ground. Crying.
Ethan rushed towards her seeing her in this state. Taking the hearing devices from his pocket. He put them for her. He had found them on the stairs and was glad that she didn’t break them.
Ethan reached for her foot and gently removed her shoes. Her foot was red and started to swell. She must have hit it against the table hard. Slowly he tried to add pressure on it only for her to whimper in pain.
He noticed how she was shaking and he didn’t know if it was from fear or coldness. Picking her up in his arms. He walked downstairs taking her to the underground hospital. Her foot needed to be checked.
Once he placed her on the bed. Petal looked around her astonished. The place was just like a hospital. An advanced one. Everything was there. Her father had one but wasn’t as good as this one.
She watched as Ethan took off his jacket. Rolled up his sleeves. Walking towards the sink and washed his hands and dried them before he walked back towards her.
"Try to relax and take a deep breath." Ethan said as he stood by the foot of the bed and she nodded her head.
She was worried about the festival and how she would attend it like this.
Ethan gently examined her foot carefully. He was relieved that it wasn’t broken and it wasn’t a serious injury. "This will help to reduce the swelling faster." He said as he brought the ice spray and sprayed it on her foot and she shivered from the cooling sensation.
"Try to rest tomorrow so it will heal faster." He said in a calm voice.
Petal’s heart raced in her chest realizing the situation. They both were in this place. But why was she worried? It’s not like she can’t control herself?.
"You’re cold. Let me take you to your room so you can rest." Ethan said cupping her face.
Petal was lost in her thoughts and hadn’t noticed that he moved close to her. She was startled and just kept looking at him. She felt so weak now. All she wanted was for him to hug her. She wanted to feel safe because lately, she wasn’t able to feel that.
Ethan’s gaze softened. She stared at him like an abandoned kitty. Yearning to feel the warmth.
---
Inside her room. Ethan pulled the covers up to cover her body. All this time. They just stared at each other. But they said nothing.
Ethan was happy that he’s with her right now. He was surprised that she didn’t kick out until now. He missed her so much.
"You know. We never spoke about what happened." Ethan suddenly said.
Petal was trying to not look at him. Turned her head. What a rude person he was."What do you want us to talk about? The details of your betrayal?" She asked him to sign.
Ethan chuckled as he leaned back on the chair. "Why are you saying that I betrayed you? It’s not like you saw me naked in bed with another woman in my arms." He replied to her question with another.
Petal glared hard at him. "Then what exactly did you do? What would you name it?" She asked him. signaling.
Ethan sighed as he leaned forward placing his elbow on his knees.``Nothing. You don’t need to name it anything. Because when the time is right. You will understand everything that happened." He said as he stood up.
"Use this three times a day and take this if you need to go out. It will remove the pain." Ethan said pointing at the medicine bottles.
Glancing at her for the final time. He walked towards the door and murmured a goodnight for her before he left.
Shaking her head hopelessly. Petal closed her eyes trying to get some sleep. She tried not to think about what he said.
"When the time is right. You will understand everything that happened."
What did he mean by that?
She won’t be fooled by his game again. She might still and will always love but that doesn’t mean that she will be manipulated by him. Not everyone fated to have a happy ending. She thought to herself.

"Mia. What happened last night?" Alice asked the maid.
Last night she saw the maids cleaning the unused side of the mansion. But she was too drunk to ask.
"Oh. Something strange happened last night. I was passing by when I saw Miss Petal running and Mr. Ethan chasing after her." The maid started to tell Alice what happened.
"What? Why were they doing that?" Alice asked, confused.
"I don’t know. But after they went running after each other downstairs We heard the sound of glasses shattering and then everything went quiet after a few minutes. Mr. Ethan came downstairs with Miss Petal in his arms. She seemed to have injured herself because Mr. Ethan took her to the underground hospital." The maid continued.
