Chapter 34- I’ve got this Ancestor’s back (5)

“Yes! More than five hundred models! Diamond, silver, star stone, silicone, latex synthetic resin…I’ll pay with some experience points. Which one does the host want!”

After a moment of silence, the mechanical voice in his mind suddenly burst out with unusual enthusiasm.

Stunned by the sudden excitement of the system, Lu Deng raised his eyebrows. He didn’t live up to the system’s kindly regards however, simply flipping through the mall and choosing an exceedingly practical bottle and buying it.

After the upgrade, the system’s functions were much more powerful. In the first two worlds, it had earned some basic wages and together with the red envelopes he had received, its small treasury had quite a bit of savings. After confirming the purchase, strands of light quickly interwove into a structure beside Lu Deng and the next moment, a milk bottle appeared out of thin air, silently falling beside his wrinkled shirt.

Lu Deng went to grab the baby bottle and his eyes fell unbidden on the new shirt. After a short pause, he flipped over his hands and meticulously folded the shirt, putting it aside carefully.

It was newly bought, after all.

A vampire’s body temperature was extremely low but that didn’t mean they were insensitive to temperature. Gu Ting seemed to prefer a warm environment. The temperature control in the house was set to a high level, so even if Lu Deng doesn’t wear a shirt, he won’t feel any discomfort.

Although Gu Ting himself couldn’t leave an image, Gu Ting liked to take pictures of him and the camera keeps flashing whenever he’s free. The greater part of Gu Ting’s face would be hidden behind the camera, but Lu Deng could still clearly feel that Gu Ting was really enjoying this kind of life.

The vampire lying on the bed was sleeping quietly. His body was cold and no heartbeat or breath could be detected.

Lu Deng once again dispelled from his mind the image of his end. Lu Deng raised his hand and touched his cheek lightly. He leaned over and snuggled against the other. The blade of grass turned into sharp blade between his fingers. Red blood spread on his wrist once again.

Although the system was all too happy to see the legendary vampiric ancestor being bottle-fed, it couldn’t bear to see its host bleeding and being injured. The system turned on real-time video recording then bit on garlic and reluctantly reduced its volume. It reactivated the standby mode; what remains unseen is deemed to be clean.

Lu Deng sat by the bed, meticulously implementing the feeding plan he had come up with. He carefully filled the milk bottle with blood and after a cursory treatment of his wound, he took Gu Ting into his arms once again.

He had just successfully poured a small amount of blood into Gu Ting and the speed of petrification of Gu Ting’s body gradually slowed down. Though it had slowed down for a bit, Gu Ting’s body had still gone a little stiffer.

Despite trying several times, Lu Deng couldn’t open his jaw. He pondered for a moment, and he decided to help him to lie on the bed and he kissed him.

A soft and warm touch covered the other’s lips. The tip of his tongue tried to stick in and through his awkward and clumsy movements, cautiously pried open the other’s softened lips. The melting heat passed through the other’s lips and teeth, quietly awakening the will and determination of the sleeping vampiric ancestor.

Amidst his muddle-headedness, Gu Ting instinctively sucked that sweet warmth.

Perceiving that his consciousness was regaining a little bit of strength, Lu Deng’s eyes lit up a bit as well. He pulled back and, deftly and quickly, stuffed the blood-filled milk bottle into the other’s mouth. Trying to recall the posture written in the manual, he held the person in his arms and slowly patted him on his back with one hand.

The feeding bottle didn’t work very well.

Gu Ting’s sucking had stopped after he withdrew. And after his body recovered a bit of its autonomous functions, he now choked and would cough frequently. When he was fed blood, a portion of it would still drip out from the corners of his lips. More bloodstains appeared.

Lu Deng tried repeatedly and four or five wounds had been cut on his arm before Gu Ting’s strength had finally recovering to 30%.

At 30%, that was enough for Gu Ting to wake up on his own from his deep sleep and then he could then bite and feed from Lu Deng’s neck.

More blood had been wasted than what Lu Deng had managed to feed to him. Given the huge amount of blood loss, Lu Deng couldn’t help feeling a bit dizzy despite his strong recovery ability.

Lu Deng roused his spirit and holding Gu Ting in his arms, laid him down and also covered him with the quilt. Lu Deng took off the blood-stained sheets and piled them together with the clothes in a corner of the room. He also tucked the baby bottle in and hid it, ready to wash them before Gu Ting woke up.

The broad-leaved green plants freshened the air once again after which Lu Deng turned them back into seeds, shrinking back into his palm. Lu Deng was about to get up but his vision flashed.

Cold.

Belatedly, he had finally become aware of the thirst and cold caused by the blood loss. Lu Deng raised his hand to support himself with the edge of the table. He tried his best to dispel the intensifying dizziness. He ambled out of the bedroom, intending to boil himself some hot water so that he could drink some of that blood sugar supplementing syrup that the system stuffed in.

No need to be anxious. Once he’s had something to drink, he’ll be nice and warm.

His heart was running a bit fast. Lu Deng carelessly put on a shirt. He opened the door of the bedroom and walked down the stairs, clutching the wooden handrail.

The light and darkness in front of him wouldn’t stop moving. The light and shadow cast by the flames in the living room fireplace kept jumping and flickering. Lu Deng was a little dizzy. He accidentally missed a step under his feet. His body tensed and he was about to take a tumble.

A black fog instantly surrounded his body that was about to fall from missing a step. The familiar embrace firmly wrapped around him. Arms tightened and Gu Ting’s low voice was filled with apparent nervousness. “What do you want?”

The chill grew stronger in an instant. Lu Deng gave an involuntary shiver but he instinctively didn’t want to stray far from the other person’s presence. He clutched the other’s wrist with difficulty. Voice slightly hoarse, he said, “It’s cold…”

The pure-blooded ancestor had awakened just in time. He stood firmly on the stairs, protecting in his arms his little prey, who had unsteady steps and a deathly pale face. His heart was exploding with deep anxiety.

Although he wasn’t clear on the specific situation, he still knew that vampires could lose their mind and go crazy under extreme hunger.

A crazed vampire will not remember what they have done. The only thing they know how to do is to depend on their instincts to hunt, knowing no satiation. They are only able to escape from this state once they have exhausted all the power within their reach.

It was precisely for this reason that he had deliberately handed the seal pendant to Lu Huaiye’s hands.

But when he checked it just now, the seal hadn’t been invoked even once.

When he woke up, he found himself already laid down properly on the bed. His power that had bottomed out to the extreme had been recovered up to a full 30%. Even the sheets had been changed. The clothes had been rolled up and stuffed in a corner of the room. He had no idea how he could have managed to create such an utter mess.

They must have gotten quite far.

Thinking that Lu Huaiye had even dragged his body and tucked him in bed, Gu Ting felt more guilty in his heart. He summoned a flannel blanket and wrapped him up carefully. He gently caressed the human youth’s cheeks that had lost all color from the pain. “It’s okay. Soon, it won’t be cold anymore…”

The body of vampires cannot generate heat on its own. Gu Ting had no time to hesitate much. He exercised his power and urged the teapot to heat up the water as soon as possible. Holding his little prey in his arms, he rushed into the bathroom.

Steaming water filled the tub. Gu Ting held him in his arms and placed him down carefully. The flow of warm water instantly soothed the numbingly cold body.

The steamy vapors rose. Lu Deng gave out a couple of low coughs and his pale complexion gradually eased.

Gu Ting did not leave immediately. He stayed beside the bathtub, watching over him. He dipped a hand in the water and waited until a rosy color returned to his little prey before finally stroking his delicate and soft face. “I’m going to make some tea. I’ll be back soon. Soak in the warm water and wait for me, okay?”

As his body warmed up, Lu Deng’s spirit improved slightly as well. He opened his eyes and looked at him, curving his eye in to a smile amidst the steam. “I’m fine.”

His voice was very soft. As before, he still revealed a glossy and gentle smile. His eyes pierced through the water vapor and into the vampiric ancestor’s once again black eyes.

His eyes were as before, still concerned and they carried silent questioning look. Meeting those eyes, Gu Ting’s chest felt slightly sour. His hand lightly covered the top of his hair and he gave a slight smile. “I’ve eaten my fill – I’ve never been so full.”

It seemed that the milk bottle still managed to somewhat fulfill its role.
