Chapter Ch34.2 - I’ve got this Ancestor’s back (5)
Lu Deng sighed in relief. He pursed his lips and nodded. He moved about in the hot water, immersing his still chilly body even deeper.
There hadn’t been time to take off the clothes from his body. They were completely soaked and stuck to his skin, making him feel uncomfortable. Gu Ting hesitated for a long time before he tentatively raised his hand to peel off the shirt covering Lu Huaiye.
“I’m thirsty.”
There were still a few wounds on his arm that hadn’t completely closed up yet. Lu Deng lightly pushed away the hand that had reached out to the lapels of his shirt. He raised his head in the steam. “Can I have some tea?”
The visual effect of a vampire’s bite marks and the wounds he cut on himself for the purpose of pouring blood was still distinctly different.
In any case, Gu Ting has already had a taste of blood and he will probably master how to suck blood in the future. He will be able to create delicate vampiric bite marks which Lu Deng will be able to heal in the blink of an eye. It won’t be as strenuous as before.
He had no intention of letting the other party see the wound this time.
Seeing his movements, Gu Ting’s hand paused. In his mind flashed those blood stained clothes and his heart sank even more.
Lu Huaiye’s special ability had a life attribute which meant that his body’s ability to recover would not lose out to that of a vampire’s. And yet, it’s been so long but the marks have yet to fully disappear. He himself couldn’t say for certain that he hadn’t done something thoroughly excessive.
Thinking of the helpless look that used to overflow in those black eyes, Gu Ting’s throat felt choked up. He nodded and stood up. “Okay, I’ll go and make some.”
He thought of kissing his little prey but he suddenly lost his confidence. He dallied for a while and then simply raised his hand and gently rubbed the top of his damp hair before quickly leaving the bathroom.
The hot water quickly relieved most of his body’s discomfort. Lu Deng closed his eyes. He gave himself a bit more blood-enriching syrup and took off his thoroughly soaked clothes. He raised his hand to caress the wound on his arm.
A sparkling light green aura emerged from his palm. The last few wounds quickly recovered, leaving only pale white marks.
With his innate recovery ability, these white marks would take half a day at most to completely disappear.
The light in the bathroom was warm and only the quiet sound of dripping water remained.
He was about to close his eyes and rest, when suddenly there was a stab of pain in his wrist.
Lu Deng opened his eyes and pressed lightly on his right wrist. A light screen hovered in front of his eyes. There was a reminder from the Special Service Office to submit his surveillance report.
Such an implanted communicator was installed in every agent. Hidden under their wrist, when they receive a message, their body will produce a corresponding neural reaction. He felt that the vibration mode was too strange so he changed it to a pain notification instead. This was the first time he had received a notification from his superiors.
Communicators had very extensive uses. In addition to receiving orders and submitting intelligence, they were also used for real-time projection meetings. When secret agents were being disciplinced and punished, those punishments could also be directly implemented through the wrist receiver.
During the day, when he had barred that agent’s muzzle, through the spores scattered in the air, he clearly sensed that the other party was actually ready to punish him.
It didn’t actually matter even if he were to be punished.
He wasn’t going to let anyone point a gun at Gu Ting.
The bright light in his eyes vanished with a flash. Lu Deng pursed his lips. In the report area, he wrote “Nothing today” and then turned off the light screen.
The shower was still on, continuously adding steaming heat to the bathroom. Feeling his body regaining some strength, Lu Deng moved around while holding onto the bathtub. He raised his head and let the hot water drip down on him. He felt better all over and he couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief.
The pure-blood ancestor, carrying a tray, appeared silently at the bathroom door. He didn’t immediately enter, looking at the human youth who had his face turned upwards, letting the water quietly rain down on him.
Lu Deng ran out of breath and quickly withdrew. He wiped the water from his face, only then realizing that Gu Ting had been standing at the door for some time.
“Do you feel better now?”
He saw that there was no more haze in those eyes. Instead, the water vapor had made them a glossy black. Gu Ting felt a little relieved. Suddenly thinking of the situation he had just seen, his chest hurt again.
He placed the tray in his hand in a spot away from the water. Gu Ting took a soft and dry towel. Half-kneeling by the bathtub, he carefully wiped away traces of water or perhaps tears from his face.
Now that he had been thoroughly warmed by the steam, his cool touch became particularly comfortable. Lu Deng’s eyes narrowed from his smile. The corners of his lips curled and made a soft nasal sound of assent.
…
He wasn’t angry with him at all.
Lu Huaiye was still willing to get close to him. This kind of realization made Gu Ting’s heart suddenly warm. His eyes turned red and he couldn’t help getting up and stepping into the wide bathtub, taking the person into his arms and pressing his cheek against his little prey.
He always hoped that during their first time, they would have mutual trust in each other. It would be plenty intimate, affectionate. The mood would be just right. The bed would have been draped in silk, preferably lined with the newly bloomed scarlet roses from the garden—in any case, it shouldn’t have been when he was crazy and powerless to control himself.
If it was at all possible, he would do anything to rectify that first mistake.
Completely unaware how the other party’s thoughts were going farther and farther off track, Lu Deng made some space for him in the bathtub, relaxing his body and resting it between his arms.
Gu Ting embraced him. With his power, he gently took the teapot and poured the steeped red jujube ginger tea into the prepared fine china teacup. He didn’t even let Lu Huaiye lift a finger. He held up the tea cup and fed it to his lips.
The tea tasted a little strange but thankfully he had added enough sugar. Lu Deng took a few sips and looked up at the vampiric ancestor who had on a solemn expression, as though he was thinking about some important decision. The corners of his lips secretly ticked up and then he suddenly leaned forward and pecked his cheek.
His heart was knocked upon lightly and suddenly warmth spread over it. Gu Ting tightened his hold and pressed his lips to his ear. “I’m already full. Regain your strength first, don't strain yourself…”
Lu Deng had a faint feeling that there seemed to be something wrong with that but the comforting force of his arms was so gentle. Lu Deng raised his head and rubbed against his neck. He buried himself in that coolness, relaxed and closed his eyes.
After the little prey in his arms was completely sound asleep. Gu Ting finally got up from the bathtub with him in his arms. He dried him off with a large cotton towel and then dropped an exceedingly light kiss on his forehead before carrying him back to the bedroom.
It was still late at night. It should be time for humans to rest.
He lay down on the bed, holding Lu Huaiye close. His bosom was filled with warmth. Gu Ting gently pressed his chin to the top of his hair, closed his eyes and rubbed against it. Sure enough, after a while, the little prey unconsciously snuggled deeper into his arms.
The pure-blood ancestor closed his eyes contentedly. His body continued to absorb the power he previously hadn’t had time to. There was the fresh fragrance of greenery in his arms and a feeling of tiredness gradually overcame him. Guarding the person in his arms, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
After a night of peaceful sleep, the sky gradually grew brighter and Lu Deng slowly got up.
The blood he had lost was now totally replenished and he had gotten more than enough sleep. His body felt much better. Gu Ting was still asleep. It seemed that the nocturnal plants’ ability to lull beings to sleep was also quite effective on vampires.
Gu Ting bought that shirt for him and it needs to be washed in time. If the other party finds out about being bottle-fed blood, it will definitely be a big blow to him. It must also be washed and hidden as soon as possible.
He quietly gathered the blood-stained sheets and clothes and left the room. The sky was already revealing faint brightness. Lu Deng found a spot in the backyard with running water. He had just let the sheets soak in the water when severe pain burst on his wrist.
Despite his pain tolerance, he was still taken by surprise and let out a low groan. He gripped his slightly trembling right wrist and swept his eyes towards the virtual image that appeared out of thin air.
There were special rules regarding the private residence of a vampire. Guests who are not ‘invited’ are absolutely unable to enter. Even an officer of the Special Service Office can only meet him via virtual image.
Because of the severe pain, Lu Deng’s forehead was breaking out in cold sweat. His expression, however, was still calm. The light in his eyes was dull as he looked up at him.
“Nothing…Today..?”
The officer read his report word by word and the figure looked down at him condescendingly. Tone cold, he said, “The records of your physical condition does not seem to match today’s report.”
Feeding vampires was strictly prohibited. The Special Service Office firmly believes that once vampires were allowed to taste the blood of living people, all balance will be completely broken. If Lu Huaiye could not provide a reasonable explanation for his sudden weak condition, they would have to take this unscrupulous agent back to be tried and punished.
The hand was holding his wrist slowly tightened. Lu Deng raised his head and was about to speak but a figure hurriedly pushed past the shrubbery and was searching his way to him.
The projection disappeared in an instant, but the monitoring was not withdrawn.
If Gu Ting accidentally says anything about being fed blood, he might really be taken away by force. Lu Deng’s heart sank slightly. He was trying his best to give him a hint without alerting the monitoring but Gu Ting had already taken him tightly between his arms. His arms were stretched taut and trembling. His chest was practically trembling from fear.
Lu Deng was slightly startled at the other’s abnormal nervousness. He immediately put aside all other thoughts and raised his hands to cover his back. He raised his head to gently rub against his cheek. “What’s the matter?”
“It’s my fault. I will be careful in the future. I will be very careful and I will control myself. I will prepare you well first so that I won’t ever hurt you again—”
Gu Ting spewed his words out in a hurry and he wasn’t able to get it all out in one go. His voice suddenly choked in his throat. It took a while before he tightened his arms and lowered his head into the young human’s warm neck.
“Don’t go…”
