Chapter 35: I’ve got this Ancestor’s back (6)

Lu Deng blinked and finally guessed what was going on.

It was unexpected that Gu Ting’s thoughts would stray to such a conclusion. Although it seemed that the other party was still unable to learn how to bite, this lucky misunderstanding unexpectedly seemed quite suitable for the current situation.

Looking at those eyes that turned bloody because of panic, Lu Deng buried his head against his bosom. He noticed the monitoring ability fluctuate, dumbfounded from these earth-shattering promises. Thought not quite convinced, it gradually disappeared. The corners of Lu Deng’s lips couldn’t help ticking up.

Whatever. It obviously didn’t matter.

Seeing that he wasn’t speaking, the pureblood ancestor’s arms grew even tenser. He lowered his head to see the other’s expression but he was suddenly captured by the little prey in his arms. The little prey raised his head and took the initiative to kiss him.

Gu Ting tightened his arms and his heart nearly resumed beating.

The system was only capable of shielding monitoring that were purely technological in nature. It wasn’t clear how effective the system’s methods would be against this type of communication apparatus that was fused with special abilities. Realizing that monitoring ability had sensibly yet dejectedly withdrawn, Lu Deng finally stopped being distracted. He closed his eyes, raised his head and continued to kiss him with single-hearted devotion.

Although he had already practiced kissing once when he was trying to feed him blood, after all, he had done so completely focused on getting the bottle into the other person’s mouth. Now, he had no actual purpose. He finally remembered and his face flushed, his heart jumping.

An awake Gu Ting was far less cooperative than when he was asleep. It was only the second time that Lu Deng was personally going into battle. Trying to pry open his lips to no avail, his heart was beating so intensely that he couldn’t breathe. He had to withdraw a little bit, but was suddenly stunned by the light, happiness and excitement mixed with intense fear, in those eyes.

It seemed that he had forgotten something.

He met Gu Ting’s still uneasy stare. Lu Deng’s eyes curved into a smile. He pecked the corner of Gu Ting’s lips and warmly assured him. “I won’t leave.”

“Never? You’ll never leave?”

Gu Ting’s voice was still hoarse. He gripped his hand firmly.

With a happy smile in his eyes, Lu Deng nodded seriously. He lowered his head and leaned against his neck. “I will never leave.”

As long the two of them were together, nothing else mattered.

Ecstatic power fluctuations suddenly unfurled. Lu Deng blinked and raised his head from Gu Ting’s chest. He raised his hand to pressed against that pendant, promptly suppressing the seal that was about to activate.

Obviously it was still daytime, but the blood roses that represented the night still bloomed quietly one after another.

Lu Deng was slightly startled. He then realized the other party’s intentions and a gentle smile unfolded on his face. He closed his eyes.

The dense branches and leaves sheltered them from the bright sunlight. The soft grass turned into a natural flannelette blanket. Instantly, their surroundings fell silent.

He didn’t grow up in a place where humans lived and he was more relaxed staying in an already familiar forest such as this. Although Gu Ting had some deviations in his understanding, it seemed there would be time for him to mend them.

Gu Ting had originally planned to carry him back to the bedroom but he suddenly noticed the changes at the edges of his body. He paused in his steps. Holding the little prey in his arms, he slowly half-knelt down. His eyes revealed slight hesitation and gentle inquiry.

Most of the sunlight had already been blocked off. The spot where they stood was cool. Only a few rays of light penetrated between the leaves, reflecting in the bright black eyes below him, filling them with golden sparkles that cause people’s hearts to throb.

Gu Ting couldn’t help but lean down, gently laying down the person in his arms. He kissed him carefully.

The kisses were clearly without any temperature but each one actually unfurled with strange heat. Although he was ready for the next thing, now that the time had come, Lu Deng still couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous. His body unconsciously stretched taut. His lips pursed and he quietly looked away.

The cool touch soothingly stroked his cheek. Gu Ting didn’t know when he had stopped his motions. He only quietly hugged him with one hand gently cradling the back of his head, slowly stroking. “Only until this point, okay?”

Lu Deng was a bit surprised and turned back to look.

Nervousness was one thing but stopping at this point after having already prepared himself; even if he hadn’t voiced his question, his heart still couldn’t stop from giving birth to indistinct lonely emptiness.

“Let’s take it slow every time until we reach a point that you can accept it.”

Meeting the faint misgivings in those eyes, Gu Ting’s lips ticked up. He lowered his head and kissed the space between his brows. “Huaiye, you are not my food…”

Although he knew that the other would probably never activate his seal, Gu Ting still took off the pendant hanging around his neck and handed it to Lu Huaiye, holding his hand together for him to hold it tightly.

Lu Deng’s breathing turned a bit sluggish. He held the Pingan Kou tightly. He raised his head slightly. The spot he had kissed unconsciously became even hotter.

In fact, going a little further wouldn’t have mattered.

Gu Ting was about to get up but he felt the other forcibly seize his wrist. He lowered his gaze and his little prey had already propped himself up and kissed him with unquestionable strength.

The sunlight trembled on his thick eyelashes, sliding down to the tip of a leaf. Gu Ting’s heart slammed against his chest. He unconsciously tightened his arms. The tip of a soft, warm tongue clumsily yet meticulously pried open his lips and teeth, stumblingly entering into his mouth.

Lu Deng didn’t know what to do next and he couldn’t ask for guidance from the system now. He hesitated and slowed down his movements, quietly opening his eyes.

There was a deep and soft chuckle from the chest pressed up against his. Lu Deng’s face burned hot. He was about to withdraw back but he was crowded into a moist and cool embrace. His whole body was wrapped up and he was once again gently embraced, a light touch covered his back

“Huaiye.”

Gu Ting embraced and kissed him carefully. The prolonged kiss ended and the little prey under him already couldn’t help but curl up slightly, panting, his cheeks flushed and hot.

Slightly propping up his body, Gu Ting’s gaze traced the clear and beautiful features of the human youth. He raised his hand and caressed him. He called his name and patiently waited for him to catch his breath.

His heartbeat was booming. Lu Deng’s vision was a little fuzzy. He blinked. Through the sound of his panting in his ears, he could hear Gu Ting’s soft and deep voice.

“…Let’s get married, okay?”

His still wildly beating heart suddenly stopped for a moment. Lu Deng was stunned and he raised his head in a daze. When he met the starlight in those pitch-black eyes that seemed to draw people in, he suddenly let out a joyous smile that had lay hidden in watery color.

“Okay.”

How could it not be okay?

There was an instant of abnormal fluctuation in his mental power. Gu Ting’s heart moved slightly. He realized with a start that without actively giving a hypnotic suggestion, he was actually pulled into having a resonance of mental power.

During that time when Lu Huaiye had managed to discover the enemy before he did, he realized that the other’s mental power seemed to be better than his own. But Lu Huaiye was still susceptible to his hypnotic suggestions which not only meant that the other party wasn’t defending against him at all but it also meant that Lu Huaiye was giving him the key to unlocking his heart.

This kind of realization made his heart feel choked up and couldn’t help wanting to kiss him even deeper. His movements, though, still remained gentle as he leaned over and covered his lips.

A gentle wave rolled up his body and consciousness together; meticulously protected at the top of the wave and gradually bundled up. The wave created a spray against the rocky cliff face, gradually filling the sky.

Drenching in sweat, the wind passed through the forest, and the bell gave a crisp ring.

Lu Deng almost felt that his body was not his own.

Despite experiencing multiple near-death experiences, he had never felt this sort of sensation. From the top of his head to the tips of his toes, every inch of his body was too tired to move. After the initial anxiety and fear of having ground himself on, strange sensations rubbed all over his whole body. The tiredness after the extreme excitement made him groggy and he could hardly help from falling asleep again. .

Gu Ting took off his shirt and covered his body with it. He lowered his head and placed a soft kiss on his forehead. With a soft smile in his eyes, he asked, “Are you still scared?”

Promises were meant to be carried out. His preparations weren’t sufficient and naturally he couldn’t just do it so hastily. He just helped relieve Lu Huaiye. He didn’t expect his little prey to be this sensitive.

The voice in his ears was low and gentle. Lu Deng’s cheeks were slightly hot and he shook his head between his arms. He tried to prop up his body but Gu Ting had already picked him up, clothes and all.

A vampire’s physical strength far exceeds that of humans’. Lu Deng simply gave up on struggling and buried his hot cheeks against his cold chest and shoulders. Gu Ting walked a few steps forward with him in his arms but then he suddenly realized something was wrong.

“There’s clean laundry at home. If you want to wash clothes in the future, tell me and I’ll handle it.”

Gu Ting warmly explained as he walked to the water’s edge. He kissed the corner of his lips and with a shot of his power, rolled up the soaked clothes and sheets.

He hadn’t had time to destroy the baby bottle. Lu Deng’s chest was filled with uneasiness and he hurriedly knocked on the system in his mind. “Is there a way to take things back out of thin air?”

The system had been reduced to garbled codes from heartache. It was stringing garlic on top of a cross when it receiving an inquiry from its host. The mechanical voice paused. “That requires Level 3 authority…”

Lu Deng’s heart sank slightly. He pursed his lips and a vine quietly emerged up from the forest floor, trying to sneakily make away with that baby bottle.

Just when the bright green sprout stretched forward its tender tips, Gu Ting’s movements had already stopped. His eyes fell on the stains of blood still dripping from the clothes and sheets. He stared at them fixedly.

The smell of blood had been concealed in the water and it had mostly been diluted already. He couldn’t have noticed it before. But even if only a scant smell was left, he could still distinguish that particularly sweet and delicious smell of blood.

It was Lu Huaiye’s blood.

Just doing this kind of thing, no matter how crazy he’d gone, it shouldn’t have created so much blood.

Thinking of the Lu Huaiye’s unconcealable weakness and trembling that time, Gu Ting’s chest suddenly tightened. His power dissipated instantly and the pile of clothes and sheets fell as well, smashing the tender vine that was about to steal the baby bottle.

When controlling plants to perform meticulous movements, the mind must also be completely integrated into the body being controlled. Lu Deng had been completely focused on controlling the vine. His sight suddenly went black and he blinked from dizziness. He hurriedly withdrew his consciousness but the baby bottle that he had taken such pains to conceal finally tumbled out with a thud.

“Who’s there!”

Gu Ting said sharply, tightly enclosing the person in his arms. His irises started to fill with blood.

When drawing power, the most reliable method was still the traditional way of passing it one from one vampire generation to another.

When a vampire goes mad, he can drain a person completely. If he really had bitten Lu Huaiye last night, if he hadn’t been lucky and some kind of accident occurred, Lu Huaiye might already be—

Countless chaotic thoughts kept crisscrossing in his mind. Fear after the event hit his chest harder than ever before. Gu Ting’s arm went taut until it they were absolutely rigid. His power, accumulated and ready to be let loose, surged and his eyes turned quickly towards the sound.

The verdant vine shrank back into the ground. There wasn’t any invading enemy in the grass, only a lone baby bottle, half-sticking out from the bundled sheets.

As Gu Ting’s eyes fell on the blood stains on the bottle, the repressed pain in Gu Ting’s eyes went slightly stagnant. He frowned and an extremely ominous premonition suddenly flashed across his heart.

The pureblood ancestor had just been thinking that he gone violent in his madness and had bitten the other. Now, the scene before him went faintly dark. He stood unmoving for a long time, facing that baby bottle on the ground. He bowed his head, looking down at the little prey he was holding in his arms. He corner of his lips twitched uneasily, his expression silently pleading.

Lu Deng blinked. After a long time struggling for what to say, he buried his head in the other’s cold and firm embrace.

Translator’s note: Woah, talk about a whirlwind romance. Marriage already? I’m going to chalk it up to lingering feelings from the previous worlds coupled with being so moved by his mistaken belief that he’d already done it after 7-years worth of blue balls as Gu Chuanbai.
